Meanwhile, Obama has urged the EU to coordinate sanctions against Russia. He it said at a press conference in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, where he’s on official visit.

Actually the jamming bit can never be the interesting part of the story; the interesting part is that the Su-24 should have certainly used corner reflectors, or something like that, to give "Donald Cook" the necessary help to detect it in the first place, so that it can then make a mockery of the ships "capabilities". That's also why it had to make a dozen passes to provide enough help for the ship to detect it.
