Novorossiya Armed Forces (NAF)

The NAF have been buying equipment of Ukrainian soldiers for a few years now. I remember seeing footage of them buying a humvee back in either 2015 or 2016, then last year there was a report of them getting ATGMs off ukraine soldiers also. There is probably more being gotten this way than what is being shown.

OSCE provide evidence of radar 51U6 Kasta 2-1 of LNR armed forces. Radar was seen on training place around 30 km away from front line. This radar would work perfectly with modernized Osa-AKM and is most probably included in LDNR IADS, which is in a process of building. It is not known, if that radar comes from Russia or was captured in Debalcevo, neither is known, how many of them LDNR have.

Novorussian army got orders for counter strikes and for preventive strikes on Ukrainian army positions to prevent Ukrainian bombarding of LDNR towns and villages.

The draft has been talked about and planned prior to this crisis. As noted, it is very minimal and the main purpose is the registration of draft-able men. In regards to not putting them into harms way, very Russian Army as their conscripts are also not sent into battle areas. This is the reason that the Russian Combat brigades and regiments only deploy 2 battalion tactical groups per as the 3rd is comprised of conscripts and only used in the rear.

Below is the deployment and areas of operations of the NAF major units for those interested, especially if shooting starts. So from East to West. This is open information and not any state secret:

2nd Motor Rifle brigade - out of Luhansk City covering it and to the Russian border
6th Motor Rifle regiment - out of Stananov and covers the center northern Luhansk Republic border
4th Motor Rifle brigade - out of Alchevsk and covers Northwest Luhansk Republic border
7th Motor Rifle brigade - out of Debaltseve and covers the area where the Luhansk and Donetsk Republics meet
3rd Motor Rifle brigade - out of Horlivka and covers the area around it
11th Motor Rifle brigade - out of Makiivka and covers the NE of Donetsk City and area towards Horlivka
100th Motor Rifle regiment - out of Donetsk City and covers the center of the City border to the North (includes Airport area)
5th Motor Rifle brigade - out of Donetsk City and covers the SW area of the City and Western border south
1st Motor Rifle brigade - out of Komsomol'ske and covers the center of the Western Donetsk Republic border
9th Motor Rifle regiment - out of Novoazovsk and covers from the Azov Sea north (faces Mariupol)

It would be interesting to know how many soldiers can NR put on the battlefield to defend its territory..but i think russian units from russian army could really make a difference if war happens....because i think USA will push those Nazi lovers in to the war with russia because the don't care about Ukraine they just want to hurt Russia....and they are using Ukraine's Nazi battalions for that....

The common mentioned numbers for the NR is ~34,000 regular and +70,000 reservist.

I rather suspect the Russians can play smart and use their C4IR capacity to make the local forces able to handle the Orcs on their own, and try to make each contact or skirmish as one sided and bloody as possible.

Civil wars are the worst... would not wish one on any country... not even the US despite its efforts to instigate conflict everywhere else on this planet.

The problem with wars is that everyone suffers and the ones responsible normally avoid conscription and responsibility.

Russia should recognize Donbas. Armenia made the mistake not recognizing Artsakh. This allowed Azerbaijan to invade Artsakh. If Russia recognizes Donbas Ukraine don't dare attack.

Russia is not Armenia. They didn't recognize Osetia in 2008, but it didn't stop them from making Misha eat his tie. I think Russia has been quite clear about the consequences of an attack on Donbas.

I think Russia recognising Kiev as the legitimate government in the Ukraine is the problem, with all the political bullshit and actually murdering the political opposition it really clearly does not reflect the views of all of the Ukraine...

The foreign influence in Kiev is clear and open and not hidden at all... why should the people in the Donbass listen to that?

I wonder what Ukrainians think about their current government. Their economy and the political situation.

I would expect wildly different views based on the area code you have to use to talk to them.

Western propaganda is strong and if you don't give a shit either way hearing mainstream media telling you everything is Russias fault and Putins fault it becomes easy to go along with that.

Of course those paying attention or actually living there will see a different situation... but really it comes down to can Kiev grow up as a country and just take responsibility for its own actions and start treating its own people... including Russian speaking people with respect, or are they going for the cancel culture hate death spiral that is going to force a significant percentage of their population to look elsewhere for their future... whether that is as Ukrainians or Russians... I would think if they thought they were Russians they would have voted to join the Russian Federation rather a long time ago... like the 1990s, but really they clearly did not see themselves as Russians, but prefer to speak Russian.

Sounds like a rather minor concession to me to keep a large piece of land and lots of resources and skill bases to ease up on the anti Russian shit, but they are making their own bed... the US and HATO will certainly not put on an extra few blankets if it gets really cold...

As far as I am concerned Belarus and Ukraine are just made up countries, so if the Ukraine splits it will likely break up into pieces that look to specific countries to be absorbed or looked after by... whether they absorb those parts completely and just become a slightly bigger Russia and a bigger Poland or whatever, or if they want to remain separate autonomous states that just have good relations with these sponsor countries will be down to the local politicians and the people.

PVO LNR landed Ukrainian armed drone with ECM complex Triton-M1. Ukrainian drone went to drop bombs on the city of Lugansk.

These pictures are from April 2020. We could see Pechora-2M unit on train in Rostov on Don. Russia doesn't use them and location is interesting. They could either went to Novorossiysk and from there to foreign customer, like Syria, either to LDNR. Does anyone have more information, where they went? We know, LDNR air defense have Kasta-2-1 radars and they could work with Pechora-2M through IADS. Pechora-2M is medium range SAM and could well improve air defense capabilities in combination with Osa-AKM.

Suspect MENA as the West would be screaming if it went to LDNR.
