Re: Syrian Civil War: News #4
From Fortrus, now for some words from CENTCOM
For the first time since the U.S. President Barack Obama announced an aerial campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in Syria, the Anti-ISIS Coalition of predominately Arab states have struck a Syrian Arab Army (SAA) camp in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, killing 1 soldier and wounding half dozen others on Sunday evening.
According to a military source from the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard, a U.S. warplane struck the military camp belonging to the SAA’s 137th Artillery Brigade (17th Reserve Division) in the village of ‘Ayyash, killing 1 soldier instantly and leaving 6 soldiers in critical condition – including an officer.
The Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Brigade has been protecting the civilians in the village of ‘Ayyash from the swarming ISIS fighters that are attempting to break into the provincial capital of the Deir Ezzor Governorate from the northern flank; this airstrike only boosted ISIS’ positions inside this village and the nearby broadcast tower.
As of now; it is not clear who the U.S.-led Anti-ISIS Coalition aircraft meant to target, but it was clear to the Syrian Arab Army soldiers that the airstrikes were inaccurate and lacked logistical comprehension of the ground situation in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

This is a probing run, I'm sure it will be pinned on new guy RAF, however this is a second hit&run in a fortnight.

Why? It's not like US SOF will run around like FSA, they're within the SDF, so you can't bomb them and bomb the Kurds.

I am not sure if US commando stays in one place. anyway having more enemies is surely not good idea. On the othr hand Kurds cooperating with US and turkey is also no good
Anyway without consent of Assad or UNSC hye are not only de facto but also de jure aggressors.

Not clear yet which Airforce carried out the attack. Apparently the French were bombing in the area in the past few days...others think it could have been one of the Arab aircraft

Arab Aircraft haven't operated in the Area for about 4 months. Also the strike has been announced to the Russians prior happening, so we'll know soon who done it.

This is Assads fault for not making an open declaration about no foreign aircrafts besides Russian allowed in Syria skies. Since they have not, and not shot down an aircraft, it has openly allowed such actions to take place.

Syrian reporter https://twitter.com/maytham956 claims reports of intensified ISIS activity and attacks are false, nothing out of ordinary.

Then I stand by my statement. Assad will need to take control and deal with the US and other nations that are illegally entering Syrian airspace. He needs to address it publicly and in multiple languages and it needs to be broadcasted throughout the world. Otherwise, they will not listen.

UN and talking about aggression should be accompanied by statement about usage AAD next time...that might have chance to work as long as Russian AF helps Assad
Anyway today Kerry threatened Russia and Iran just today
BTW Obama will destroy, at least he says so IGIL

in my earlier post. In short he will arm terrorists and increase their numbers
http://vz.ru/news/2015/12/5/782120.html
"If Russia and Iran will stand by the unit and will allow Assad simply to doom the process to failure, we will know who is a problem. In this case, we will have fewer options for action, and we have to make some tough measures," he said at a U.S.-Israeli conference in Washington.
Kerry stressed that the U.S. "cannot afford" such a development. In his words, "threaten the security of the United States and all countries in Europe", reports RIA "Novosti".
According to him, "if Assad will remain, those who continue to fight with him, will draw more jihadists, more of is militants," they "are better armed" and they will have more opportunities to depose him.

That is a pathetically weak threat. As well, such words will be used against them in the future anyway for supporting terrorism. It also gives pretext to Assad and such to use even heavier hand against the terrorists and give Russia justification for if they ever do decide to fund terrorist organizations or other groups (assad's group for instance) if they wish to do so.

This is correct.. i think is time for Russia ask Syria Government to say , to demand US that any other attack on Syrian army position will be retaliated and their planes shot down. That
the American Coalition is not being helpful at all ,and is creating more problems for them in
their legitimate fight against ISIS. An Ultimatum needs to be given to the arrogant americans
that If they bomb again Syrian Army ,their planes will be shot down.. as simple as that.
That they need either to respect Syrian sovereignty over its territory and right to liberate its country from terrorist..or else they will need to leave.
The kerry threats seemed really serious.. they are warning to provide terrorist with lethal weapons ,so that include chemical weapons and long range ballistic missiles to attack Syria.
Everyone knows Americans are allied with ISIS..and the whole thing is a fraud..
is a fake coalition.. So something like this of they increasing their aggression to Syria was to be expected. as a matter of fact they bombed also the IRAQ army.. and killed hundreds in one air strike before. Russia needs to try to get Pantsir defenses ,the tracked version in Deizor. and
try to accelerate the operation of the kuweires airport.

Can someone explain to me why Iraqi Kurds cozy up to Erdo even though "the emir" is hellbent on destroying Syrian (and even) Turkish Kurds?
I know that they need a market for their oil and all, but it all seems weird to me. Is there a schism between Iraqi Kurds and other Kurdish groups in the Levant?

Because that allows them to break free from Iraqi control. They can sell directly to Turkey if they want, insuring most of the KRG revenue. This doesn't mean they love Turkey, they just need Turkey because of the new Iraqi reality.
Now Shia rule is becoming more effective, the end game will be Arabs vs Kurds. There's no one willing to split up Iraq de jure, although it's more complex de facto.
Also there's no schism, it's just how the things are. The problem with this, is that PYD and KRG aren't at all on the same page, given how the KRG allowed the Daesh disease to spread by trying to take advantage of their surge.

F**K me, this whole shit is messier than a witch's pussy.
How can anyone have any kind hope for this region? Erdo and his overloads have no idea what they have unleashed in this region. The genie is out of the bottle.
