Through Jaysh Al-Fateh, groups like Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham have been given access to the Free Syrian Army’s heavy weaponry that was manufactured in the U.S. and provided by Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Free Syrian Army are very close with one another, as they coordinate on the battlefield and share the same trenches – they even share control over the villages they capture together."

At a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the evening on 8 December 2015, the Minister of defence of Russia Sergey Shoigu, in addition to messages about the attack on targets of terrorists in Syria with cruise missiles, sea-based complex "Caliber-SUBMARINE" a submarine "Rostov-on-don", also saidthat "in the past three days, Russian aircraft, including strategic bombers Tu-22, flew more than 300 sorties and struck more than 600 of the objectives of different nature". "All flights are accompanied by a fighter aircraft – Sukhoi su-30", – said Sergey Shoigu.

According to the Ministry of defense of Russia in the official video about these actions, long-range bombers Tu-22 m3 took off from the airfield of Mozdok.

Russian aircraft of the air group for Air and space forces (VKS) Russia in Syria over the past day has made 82 sorties from an airbase "Hamim", inflicting air strikes on 204 targets of the terrorists, said Wednesday the official representative of the Ministry of defense of Russia major-General Igor Konashenkov.

"For the past day the planes of Air and space forces of Russia completed 82 sorties on 204 targets of the terrorists in the Syrian Arab Republic, located in the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia, Hama and HOMS. With 32 sorties by Russian planes is made at night", — said the representative of the defense Ministry.

Combat missions in Syria on facilities of the terrorist group "Islamic state" (in the Arabic version of DAIS prohibited in Russia) make the su-24M, su-25SM and su-34. All flights of bombers and attack aircraft cover the su-30.

Konashenkov noted that after combat missions all aircraft of the Russian air group successfully returned to the base Hamim.

Russia is not  neighbour of KRG, Turkey is. And KRG is inviting Turkey on their territory so they cooperate with someone who can't be trusted .

And the point is not why KRG should favor Russia. The thing is that Russia should not favor KRG in any way.

In Russia interests is to support PKK and other anti Turkey kurdish groups ( to make some probs for Erdown), along with most reasonable  elements of YPG (but not on US payroll)  to seal Syrian-Turkish border .

As I said to Petulant Mustafa, check the ammo and weapons from the latest PKK clips. Iranian ammo, rifles. Russian ammo, scopes, coms.

You need to understand that Russia doesn't want to get tangled with the whole PKK deal. They've managed to help Yemen under the radar with "small" things, No need to show over with PKK. Yet they help. Also even INSIDE the KRG people hate Turkish guts, but they need the dough.

Syrian government forces have taken back key areas in the coastal province of Lattakia, reported Fars on Wednesday.

Syria's National Defense Forces, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and Syrian Resistance also took part in the offensives against terrorists in the northern countryside areas of Latakia.

"In a matter of four days, the Syrian Armed Forces have seized over 100 square kilometers from terrorists in Northeastern Latakia; this is likely to increase in the coming days as the pro-government forces eye the rebel stronghold of Salma," reported Fars.

​The offensive from Syrian government forces in Latakia was aided by airstrikes from the Russian Air Force, which also targeted terrorists in Aleppo, Idlib, Hama and Homs.

That's true but I just wish that they would recapture more territory around the Turkish border and fast.
