    I am far from healthy. I am overweight (although trying to fix that). Not like in the avatar I use but still am on the chubby side. So I had to cut sugar for most part out of my diet completely. If I want soda, it is diet. If I want some kind of sweet, I eat fruit of some sort.

    My weakness is chocolate almonds. That shit is deadly good and I have to go through electro shock therapy like Bruce lee did with donuts to get me to stay away from them.

    I am not a super health guru but one of the biggest issues with food consumption these days is that most of the stuff you eat is basically processed. That means it is laced with all sorts of unhealthy shit. So when you buy a piece of meat - buy it as natural as possible and not with all that tasty barbecue flavoured marinated sauce. Rather buy your own flavouring products that you know doesn't contain any unsavory stuff.

    That sugar free soda you drink can also contain all sorts of REALLY bad things as well - like aspartame. Though disputed by health "authorities" it is carcinogenic. Reading food ingredient labels is quite important.

    By reducing your carb and sugar intake and going for a nice walk in the park is a good way to get you on the right track to loose some weight.

    Alzheimer's disease is part of the metabolic syndrome and starts in the liver. There is a reason why it is also starting to be
    called type 3 diabetes. Note the universal characteristic: no symptoms until it is way too late. It takes decades to develop
    just like type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

    If you are overweight, then you are insulin resistant. Your liver is degrading and the more fruit you eat, the faster that degradation.
    Fatty liver disease is over-accumulation of fat in the liver from regular "normal" fructose intake. All sugars that we eat are at least
    50% fructose. Fatty liver transitions to cirrhosis. The same as for alcoholics even if you do not drink alcohol.

    Processed food is laden with fructose-glucose syrup additives since they got rid of fats back in the 1970s with the onset of
    low fat hysteria. So you WILL destroy your liver even if there are no man-made chemicals in your food. They are just the
    cherry on top of the modern diet turd cake.

    Anyone who dismisses people like Berg as "internet shysters" is an idiot. Such "shysters" are
    the only source of valid information in the public information space. You would have to do
    literature searches in the relevant journals yourself to get at the truth.

    The real problem is that often the government departments that are supposed to be protecting the public and running independent studies don't have any funding from the government and get most of their funding and information from the companies trying to get approval of their products.

    It is made worse when food companies contribute to political campaign funds and use that influence to get into boards who decide new rules for the industry... the politicians will justify it by saying they are experts in the field but what they are actually doing is making sure the rules don't get in the way of their profits, but also stifle competition so they don't have to try too hard.

    What I would love to see is an independent government agency that could test and conduct trials and have real independent evaluations of products and their effects where the interests is in the health and safety of the people and not the companies bottom lines.

    They could also invest in cures rather than treatments for things....

    Such a hope is too late for most western countries... perhaps a country like Cuba or Russia or China could do it in the interests of their people... something missing in the western world...

    Stay away from omega-6 PUFA at all costs. It is a miracle that humans are not dying over short time scales from this poison.

    Don't let anyone tell you MSG is harmless.  The clowns who add this to food are compensating for poor food quality.
    Omega-6 PUFA are the same sort of BS.  A low grade trash oil introduced to cut costs which degrades the quality
    of the prepared food, is toxic (carcinogen, metabolic disruptor), and is sold as "healthy".

    You never hear any health warnings about MSG even though it kills brain cells.  Recall that most of the brain cannot
    replace itself (some parts can but only with sufficient fasting) so why would anyone who is sane and has a clue
    eat this shit?

    The FDA branch of the US mafia state regulates supplement dosage for Potassium to under 100 mg or 2% of daily requirement of 4700 mg.
    Potassium is important for vascular elasticity which affects atherosclerosis. On the pretext that some people on certain medications
    can be negatively affected by "high" Potassium doses everyone gets f*cked over. Since when are a minority on medications
    dictating the whole market? Alcohol can create serious problems when consumed with some medications but I have never seen it
    regulated on this basis.

    The FDA has a history of being a Big Pharma whore or front. Its rubber stamping of the mRNA poison is just another case of this
    function. It is deliberately creating a deficiency of Potassium in the population since getting the right dose of Potassium
    from food is not simple. It takes seven or more cups of certain types of vegetables (over 175 x 7 = 1.225 kg) daily to
    get the necessary 4.7 g of Potassium. Give me a f*cking break. Who is going to consume salads in such volume daily. Meats
    of any sort are not a great source unless you want to consume around 1.5 kg of meat every day. The medical mafia claims
    such high levels of meat intake are bad for your health and they are actually right for a change. This amounts to a protein
    overdose and has long term toxic side effects.

    We appear to have lost certain food sources that we evolved to consume. None of the foods we eat today have sufficiently
    high levels of Potassium and we are basically all deficient in this essential mineral. By contrast we swim in sodium and overdose
    on sugar daily.

    Seems to me the health advice from many sources boils down to eat our product... everyone else's product is bad for you and will damage your body.

    Large part of NZs economy comes from farming, so I don't think an exclusion of meat from our diets is going to happen any time soon.

    Local farmers are looking more into free range farming, as opposed to concentrated factory farming... ie battery hens etc etc.

    Diet information is mostly garbage because the medical industry does not put any focus on it and allows free range shysters
    like dieticians to fill the gap.   Organic animal husbandry is badly needed.   Thanks to the current industrial farming we have
    excessive omega-6 in beef, pork and chicken.   I am not sure about mutton.   If it is raised on grass instead of grains, then
    it is good for you.

    I recall all the TV and movie references to saturated animal fats being the source of heart disease over the last few decades
    and it is truly cringeworthy.   It is the processed starch and omega-6 in your burger that is bad for you.   The "nutrients"
    being pimped as healthy.   Nobody should feel guilty about eating a nice steak even if it is cooked over charcoal.
