Abramovich to transfer Ukraine €2.8 billion
The former owner of London-based Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abramovich, is set to transfer £2.3 billion (€2.8 billion) to a special fund for financial assistance to Ukraine. This amount is the net proceeds from the sale of the club last year.
After the European Union approves the transaction, the funds will go to the fund account and will be used to rebuild Ukraine under EU supervision.
Roman Abramovich was forced to put Chelsea for sale last year due to British sanctions. American businessman Todd Boely bought the club for £4.25 billion.

@Alamo
Look at that from the other angle - at least we know how much bribe needs to be given to keep your assets relatively safe in free Europe
That's all fine. Russian government should treat that as a hostile move and take his shares in RusAl and Gazavto. He used to own some assets in agri sector as well. You can't sit on two chairs at the same time. **** him.

The last time I saw Goebbelsovitch, he played Goofy at the gas station ... and muted after.
Zero. Null. Nada.
When have you seen the guy last?
Maybe we should light a candle or something? He was funny at least.

Or do they mean that they're going to mail them a cease & desist?
Better not make such feeble statements at all

Ispan wrote:some soldiers claim that they would like a light belt fed machine gun in 5.45mm, similar to the SAW, they already have the RPK but it is crap. Old RPD is not available and the short 7.62 is too heavy.
Well there are in fact 2 modern models; the Kord-5.45 which was talked about some years earlier (https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/06/16/russian-saw-tokar-2-5-45x39mm-belt-fed-light-machine-gun-showed-off-national-guard-open-house-2017/), and the RPL-20 which the Kalashnikov Concern started working on after getting feedback about the RPK-16 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RPL-20).
The Kord-5.45 is a dual-feed firearm, able to take magazines instead and operate as an assault rifle if called upon. The RPL-20 is only belt-fed.
There is the RPK-16 too of course but its not belt-fed, and like the Kord-5.45 seems to have disappeared from recent mentions
A nice article about them here, worth auto-translating
https://vk.com/@iwp_infinity_weapons_project-rpl-20-i-kord-545-ruchnye-pulemety-s-lentochnym-pitaniem
But it was the Rosgvardia which was interested in them.
The MoD preferred full-caliber machine-guns such as the Pecheneg, as that fit their use-case closer. Now though that the Naval Infantry have been engaged in urban fighting, the VDV to some extent too, the military might rethink its acquisition priorities and look for a light machine-gun option as well for certain units. Presumably now maybe the Wagner forces might be interested too.
I doubt they'd be interested in the Kord-5.45 though as thanks to its dual-feed mechanism, it weighs about as much as a Pecheneg anyway.
The RPK-74 was still in service BTW when I myself was serving, just about, some 12 years ago.. but I'll be surprised if they still use them by now.

Solution for Odessa is simple (as is for any Nazi city)
1) Cut the power
2) Cut the water
3) Wait
And just in case Nazis are more reterded than expected:

"Russia is preparing for an "imminent" new offensive on Ukraine, while 200,000 more Russian troops may soon be joining the war effort, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
An ISW report published on Monday says that Ukrainian, Western and Russian sources agree that "Russia is preparing for an imminent offensive" as the war nears its one-year mark. The report notes that NATO Secretary Jens Stoltenberg said on the same day that Russian President Vladimir Putin, who "retains his maximalist goals in Ukraine," was planning to mobilize 200,000 or more new troops to join the fight.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian military official Ivan Tymochko reportedly said that Russian forces were "strengthening" in Ukraine's Donbas region in anticipation of the offensive, which Russia was launching "due to increasing domestic pressure for victory" in the war.
"Stoltenberg's and Tymochko's statements support ISW's previous forecast that Russian forces are setting conditions to launch an offensive effort, likely in Luhansk Oblast, in the coming months," ISW said, while adding that Russian military bloggers had indicated "that the Russian information space is setting conditions for and anticipating a Russian offensive."
While speaking at the Chey Institute in Seoul, South Korea, on Monday, Stoltenberg said that Putin had the ability to "end the war today," before lamenting there were no "signs that President Putin ... [is] preparing for peace."
"We see the opposite," said Stoltenberg. "We see that they are preparing for more war, that they are mobilizing more soldiers, more than 200,000, and potentially even more than that."
"We have seen no sign that President Putin has changed his overall goal of this invasion, that is to control a neighbor, to control Ukraine," he continued. "So as long as this is the case, we need to be prepared for the long haul."
Last week, ISW cited a Ukrainian intelligence official's assessment that Russian forces were preparing for a "big offensive" on the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the spring or early summer."

It provides monetary compensation ... for serving in the armed forces.
What made me interested is the expiry date in ... 2026.
The thing is unclear to me - can it be cashed any day until the given date, or cashed at given date?
I guess the first.
The whole concept is so weird that I hardly get it.
Well, kind of - actually I get it perfectly. It is an organized fraud made at the expense of MIA soldiers. Some thugs will operate those certificates and just cash them in absence of the missing souls.
