The real question should be why do we see tanks operating w/o infantry support. 

On the russian side, instead of using foot soldiers loitering around tanks they use drones for better situational awareness.

Sometimes it´s getting ridiculous. There were videos about trench warfare (russian side clearing some Ukro defence lines)
with 5 soldiers doing the hard work and another 3 or 4 standing around a few hundred metres away operating drones. If this
continues there will be more drone operators than infantry soldiers soon.

Why is it going so slow?

Kyiv to form 8-10 new heavy brigades with combat vehicles from the USA and the West.

Why do they need more brigades? What happend to the ones they had?
The western MSM is telling us they are winning.

Jokes aside. The promised vehicles are enough for 2 - 3 brigades.
But the stuff will be delivered in the next 6 to 8 months or even in 2024.
This means the brigades won´t be ready at the same time.
But where to get the manpower? More Polish volunteers?

Russia will create a combined complex to combat mini-drones based on Typhoon-VDV.
The complex will include microwave suppression, a low-power laser and Verba MANPADS.
Based on promising complex for countering mini-UAVs and defeating enemy manpower, new
universal combat module with an automatic guidance system and tactical augmented reality glasses,
Russia plans development of several Typhoon-type armored vehicles with combat modules for remote
control automatic aiming and guidance of an air target, microwave detection, tracking and suppression 
of UAVs, a low-power laser, Verba MANPADS, united by a common control, according to the magazine
"Military Thought", published by the Ministry of Defense.

Kyiv admitted that they are paying the highest price for keeping Artemivsk, by Alexandra Yudina for VZGLYAD. 02.03.2023.

Ukraine pays the highest price for keeping Artemivsk in the DPR, Podolyak, adviser to Zelensky's office, told the Spanish newspaper 20 minutes.

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of Vladimir Zelensky's office, refused to name the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artemivsk, but said that Ukraine "pays dearly" for holding the city, RIA Novosti reports .

Artyomovsk is located in the Kyiv-controlled part of the DPR north of the large city of Gorlovka - it is an important transport hub for supplying the Ukrainian group of troops in the Donbass.

The DPR reported that since Thursday evening, additional reserves of the armed forces of Ukraine have  been concentrating  near Artemovsk.

The head of the National Guard Zolotov announced an increase in the number of "mercenaries" from Europe in the special operation zone, by Vasily Koshkin for Rossiskaya Gazeta. 02.03.2023.

The number of "mercenaries" from European countries fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is growing. This was stated by the head of the National Guard Viktor Zolotov during a trip to the Crimea and the Kherson region.

"They (mercenaries. - Approx. ed.) have significant experience in participating in armed conflicts in various countries of the world, and appropriate training," the ministry's press release says .

Zolotov stressed that the employees of the Russian Guard "demonstrate higher professionalism and training."

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation noted that representatives of 54 countries take part in hostilities on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "The most active countries in this part are: Great Britain, the USA, Canada, Israel, France, Sweden, Georgia, Finland, Poland and Lithuania," the ministry said.

A more realistic source that I was reading mentioned for Russia about 20000 dead and another 30000 between missing or seriously injured and incapable of returning to service.

(For the ucraine we are talking about one order of magnitude more)

I am not sure if this are the total numbers including also Wagner and Chechens or if those losses are not taken into account here.

Yes it seems quite small but apparently it is a two stage missile - that could be just the front end?
One other probability could be some air launched decoy/ECM missile?

You said that like it was a major accomplishment. They took the airport over from our Army. Didn't have to fight for it. It just gave Russia some bargaining power. Probably, got some loans under the table to remove the troops. Classic Yeltsin time move.

Russia about 20000 dead

The BBC came up with this number. Or in reality with 12.000 "russian" KIA´s (which implies that it includes all forces taking part on the russian side)
So the BBC spend weeks, invested a huge number of employees and a lot of money to come up with this number but than adds that the "real" number
has to be higher by 50 - 60%.

The claim the monitored burial sides but did they exclude soldiers, guards men and others that died outside of the SMO zone or during exercises?
Or is some sailor that drowned of the coast of Sakhalin in an accident included in this numbers?
Or the passenger of an helicopter crashing in the Arctic do to bad weather?
Or even the mobilized killed during that terror attack on their base in Siberia?

You could claim the last mentioned soldiers should be included even if they were not part of the SMO (not yet?) but on the other hand the
Americans didn´t even count all the mercenaries and contractors working for the military/government getting killed in Afghanistan or Iraq.
Or even wounded soldiers dying later in hospitals in Germany or the US.

Ukrainian soldiers have already begun to complain about the effective operation of such countermeasure systems such as Starling, Strizh-3, Harpoon and similar ones in their social networks.
The principle of operation is simple: the detector of the system detects the drone and lets it get closer, where electronic warfare jammers are switched on from an effective distance, preventing the enemy drone from escaping from the impact zone.
