Very interesting, shows the kind of range achieved from Bars.
250-300km range for a fighter sized target, and 8 target engagement.

Re: Su-30 for Russian Air Force
Talk about a Flanker menagerie.
Su-34, Su-30M2, Su-30SM, Su-35, potentially Su-27SM3...
Btw I walked under a Su-27 today (Central armed forces museum)....every time I see it, the size just shocks me. It is a freaking monster, even compared to nearby decently sized birds. The height is the most imposing aspect.

Re: Su-30 for Russian Air Force
Yup some now delivery. Its seems to be only one Su-30SM but Im not sure.
Airbase Domna TSB entered another new multi-purpose fighter Su-30cm
and now only one is missing until 2013 plan is fulfilled.

I think 10 for 2013....60 by 2016 and about 90 overall from what I've seen so far.
It's a Russianised version of the Su-30MKI

Re: Su-30 for Russian Air Force
4 more Su-30SM delivered to Domna (in two lots, first 3 then a single one), thus making the total to 10?

It will be interesting to see increase in Su-30SM production until 2016. I expect 14 or even more to be delivered in 2014.
Whats going on with Su-30M2? are those delivered in full?
Only this exists from interfax military:
"Sukhoi Su-30M2 fighter jets to be supplied to Air Force units in Eastern Russia"

the article says 14 aircrafts this year, 10 of them in Domna
So we have 16 su-30sm in total with last delivery. And 4 su-30m2.

Re: Su-30 for Russian Air Force
2 Su-30M2 to be delivered in the next few day to the Eastern Military District:
http://primamedia.ru/news/primorye/26.12.2013/325960/noviy-istrebitel-su-30-m2-v-blizhayshie-dni-postupit-na-aviabazu-v-primore.html
I am betting they will go to Dzemgi and serve as conversion trainers for Su-35S (of which there will be 4 squadrons), need to recheck my RuAF orbat, but that's in Habarovsk Krai right? I have yet to figure out if these 16 will also cover for a future order or another 48 Su-35S (so you will have 8 squadrons each with 2 Su-30M2), or there will be yet another order. Plus, some sources give 2 (from the initial order of 4) Su-30M2 serving at Krymsk together with the Su-27SM3s, and one each at two different units that i can't remember now (i suspect they are equipped with SMs, the Su-30M2 serving to familiarise those pilots with a digital cockpit, but need to check)
PS: Yes, according to the AFM orbat there should be one Su-30M2 at each Tsentralnaya Uglovya and Dzemgi based Su-27SM regiments, but it's not confirmed.

Re: Su-30 for Russian Air Force
I wonder if Russian navy will also order Su-30M2 for their old Su-24 replacement? Su-30M2 is already well suited for maritime operations, because Chinese navy already use them in this role.

I was under the impression they were interested in the Su-30SM.
Though I'd like to see the Naval Su-34 finally appear .

...Is that possible? Su-34 is a huge aircraft, even if theirs a variant with retractable wings there wont be much room for anything else.
