Post  ahmedfire Sat Mar 17, 2012 11:32 pm

Israeli governmental sources admitted that Tel Aviv's security organizations failed to prevent Egypt from completing a very important deal to launch a spy satellite in 2009.
The deal represents a huge danger to Israel's national security for the satellite's ability to take pictures of military and strategic sites.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported the Israeli government asked for the French government's interference to ban French company Asterium from selling a spy satellite to Egypt in 2009.
Israel succeeded in stopping that deal, but Egypt did not give up and turned the Israelis' success in to a dismal failure and bought the satellite from Russia.
The Israeli newspaper revealed that Israel is trying to get the French and Italian governments' interference again, to stop French company “Telis” and Italian company “Telistifetscio” from selling a spy satellite to Turkey.
Israeli national security is exposed to severe dangers if there is any leak of information from Ankara to Israel's enemies like: Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas Movement in the Gaza strip via the satellite.
The newspaper pointed out that Israel succeeded in preventing French Company Asterium from selling spy satellites to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates before.
Israel did allow Israeli company “Image Sat”, specialized in aircraft manufacture, to cooperate with the UAE to provide it with satellite images

    What a bunch of aholes...

Iran should launch their own spy satellites... Smile

If Israel or the US shoots them down they can launch more and start selectively destroying US and Israeli satellites.

If you can launch a satellite then you can shoot down satellites... it is just a case of launching a large box of debris in the opposite orbit of the satellite you want to destroy.

If it misses first time that is no problem... as the debris cloud spreads your chances of a connection increase and every 45 minutes or so you get another chance...

In Egypt now we have alot of problems with U.S ,they annoyed from the military that toppled Morsi after a Popular revolution , U.S threatens that it may cut the military aid to the egyptian army trying to enforce the army to bring back morsi regeme , the army refused and a team consists of some military generals wuth saudi and UAE official guys went to russia and the outlook from alot of analysers that Egypt could turn completly to russia in military imports , we already have a wide co-operation with russia long time ago , last imports were TOR-M and pechora upgraded system , anti tank missiled  ... etc

I think we will buy some russian aircrafts ,

Aipac pretext was that most of egyptian military exercises had Israel as ennemy.
AIPAC is a piece of sh!t , even the fetus knows that the first enemy to egypt is israel , we had a five wars with them before and i can confirm is that the six war will be against them too.

In fact no one in Egypt -as arab world- wants Camp David diktat, it was perceived by average egyptian as Versaille Treaty in 1919. Humiliation.
Camp David was an agreement for peace , we fighted in 1973 war to bring back sinai our land , we made alot of victories during the war even with the U.S unlimited help to israel , no war lasts forever
, so we signed Camp David and took our lands , israel does not give any land without enforcing her to do that .

In every country there are conflicting groups... the US certainly is no friend of the group in power in Iran. Any relationship the US might have with Iranian groups will be to undermine those Iranians in power with the express goal of removing the current regime and putting in a leadership that will bend to western will and allow western oil companies into Iran to drill for oil and take the wealth of that country and put it in largely western pockets.

The extra oil flow with further devalue oil and hurt Russia as well, which the west would see as an added bonus.

You have posters of Gamal Abdel Nasser, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Vladimir Putin side by side.

Return of Arab socialist national policy is in progress and I could imagine new deals with China and Russia in future.

What are the peoples attitudes towards Mubarak these days?

Just 2 years ago they were willing to string him up and the military seemed to be unpopular for its raids on the pro-Islamist demonstrators camps.

The situation is different now , most of people found that many of the accusations against mubarak were not real and most of these accusations were myths that Muslim Britherhood made , he has no 70 billion $ as MB and CNN said , he did not order police or arrmed forces to shoot protesters ,,etc , the court denied most of accusations against him and no demonstrations go out against freeing him from jail,

The army is most popular after toppling MB from power , Mubarak was angle in compraison with MB .

Egypt-Russia economic deals Empty Co-operation between Russia and Egypt

Post  ahmedfire Wed Nov 20, 2013 4:31 pm

Egypt to seek bids for first nuclear plant
CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt will launch an international tender in January to build its first nuclear power station, an Electricity Ministry spokesman said on Thursday before talks with Russian officials on cooperation between the two countries.

Egypt froze its nuclear programme after the 1986 nuclear disaster at Chernobyl, but announced in 2006 it planned to revive it. Plans for a tender were being prepared when President Hosni Mubarak was deposed in February 2011.

Aktham Abouelela, spokesman for the Electricity Ministry said: "The Nuclear Power Plants Authority plans to launch the first international tender in January to build a nuclear station in Dabaa," near the Mediterranean coast.

"It will be a pressurised water reactor with a capacity of 950 to 1650 megawatts. The station will have two units," Abouelela added.

Egypt's economic outlook has been clouded by political uncertainty since Mubarak's downfall, which set off turbulence that has chased away foreign investors and tourists. Islamist President Mohamed Mursi was ousted by the army in July in response to massive street protests against his rule.

It was not immediately clear how Egypt would finance the plant, but since Mursi's removal it has been offered $12 billion in aid from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Egyptian officials were due to meet Russia's foreign and defence ministers on Thursday for talks that were expected to touch on the nuclear power programme. Former Trade and Industry Minister Hatem Saleh said in April that Russia had agreed to help Egypt develop atomic energy.

Fuel shortages since the 2011 uprising that ousted Mubarak have strained power generation in the country of 85 million, forcing power cuts and prompting energy-intensive industries to buy electricity from private suppliers at high prices.

Russian companies show interest in investing in Egypt

Bilateral cooperation between Russia and Egypt has been hindered by quite a few obstacles recently. Last month the Egyptian-Russian official joint committee meetings took place in Moscow. The key goal was to find ways of tackling the issues in a number of sectors, varying from industry and investment, trade, agricultural commodities, to scientific cooperation and aviation.

Just recently, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry announced that talks on a free trade agreement will be resumed after a three-year hiatus. The establishment of a free trade zone between Egypt and the countries of the Customs Union, including Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, was last discussed in Moscow in 2011.
One of the sectors that are seeing productive cooperation between Russia and Egypt is space exploration. This week the Egyptian satellite is expected to be launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the Russian government, the Russian Federal Space Agency and the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia. Commenting the deal, Hussein al-Shafei, an advisor to the Russian Space Agency in Egypt, said that the step will mark the beginning of cooperation to build a modern government that can capture huge amounts of information through space.
"Egypt will benefit from Egyptian-Russian cooperation in the field of aerospace as it will prompt it to be part of the aerospace industry and will encourage other industries in Egypt to rebuild," Hussein al-Shafei said. "The satellite will provide information technology for the new government, which came after two revolutions, to fully secure borders, redistribute agricultural land and to monitor environmental changes. We are talking now about the biggest leap in the history of Egyptian scientific research," Hussein al-Shafeisaid.
At the end of 2013, total Russian investments in the Egyptian market amounted to around $66 million. The plan is to proceed in this field, as quite a few Russian companies have shown interest in investing in the country

Putin to Tackle Gaza Conflict, Food and Military Trade with Egypt’s Sisi

SOCHI, August 12 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin is due to meet with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah Sisi, in the Russian resort city of Sochi to discuss a wide range of political and economic issues, including the ongoing Gaza conflict, Egypt’s food deliveries to Russia and Russian military exports to Egypt, according to the Kremlin.

“The discussion will address urgent matters, linked to the development of Russian-Egyptian relations in various spheres,” a Kremlin official said.

The leaders are expected to study in great depth a wide range of bilateral economic issues, such as the creation of a free trade zone between Egypt and the Russia-led Customs Union, which also includes Belarus and Kazakhstan.

“The last year’s trade turnover was roughly at $3 billion. In the first half of this year, [this figure] almost doubled [some $2.5 billion],” the Kremlin said.

Following its embargo on agricultural products from the United States and the European Union, Russia has been looking for alternatives, and Egypt said it was willing to boost its fruits and vegetables exports. In return, Russia could profit from Egypt’s high demand for wheat.

Moscow and Cairo are also discussing deliveries of Russia’s high-tech military products, including 24 Mikoyan MiG-29 fighter jets, as well as its Kornet anti-tank missile systems, attack helicopters Kamov Ka-25, Mil Mi-28 and Mi-25.

Russia and Egypt, which is brokering an end to the ongoing Gaza armed conflict, have been keeping in touch on the situation in this highly volatile region, with the Russian president praising Cairo’s efforts toward a long-term armistice between the Israeli and the Palestinians.

Last week, President Putin in a phone conversation with Abdel Sisi lauded Egypt for mediating negotiations between the warring parties. Both leaders agreed to “encourage a nationwide dialogue, aimed at settling contentious issues through political means,” according to the Kremlin.

On July 8, Israel launched an offensive against the Hamas movement in response to the military group's rocket attacks. On July 17, the Israeli switched to a ground offensive to destroy the network of Hamas tunnels along the Gaza border with western Israel.

Around 1,900 people have lost their lives in Gaza, the majority of whom are civilians. Sixty-four Israeli soldiers have died since the operation Protective Edge was announced by Tel Aviv, with further three civilians killed in Israel, including a Thai national.

Russia, Egypt agree to simplify Egypt’s exports to Russia — Putin

SOCHI, August 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia and Egypt have agreed to simplify Egypt’s exports of goods to the Russian market, Russin President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday after talks with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Putin said he would issue relevant orders to Russia’s veterinary and phytosanitary watchdog (Rosslekhoznadzor).

The Russian leader said Russia and Egypt were actively cooperating in the area of agriculture, with Russia accounting for about 40% of grain consumed in Egypt.

“As many as 90% of our imports from Egypt are farming products too - oranges, potato, onion, garlic,” Putin said “Egypt has already boosted exports of farming products to Russia by 30% and is ready to further increase them by another 30% in the nearest future.”

Russia and Egypt are looking at creating a free trade zone, Russin President Vladimir Putin said.

The Russian president said an agreement had been reached to establish cooperation between Egypt and the Customs Union (of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan). He noted that this subject had been raised at a meeting of the council of the Common Economic Space on July 7.

Egypt is ready to increase exports of agricultural produce to Russia by 30% in the nearest future, Russin President Vladimir Putin said.

Putin made his statement after a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Russia and Egypt also agreed on a simplified procedure for admitting Egyptian goods to the Russian market, Putin said.

Russia hopes its tourist flow to Egypt in 2014 will be bigger than in 2013, Russin President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday after talks with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

The Egyptian president, in turn, said his country hoped to see more tourists from Russia,

Tourism is a major area of cooperation between the two countries. In 2013, about two million Russians visited Egypt despite temporary restrictions on trips to that country. After these restrictions were lifted in the first quarter of 2014, the tourist flow from Russian reached 542,000 (575,000 in the same period last year).

The creation of Russia’s industrial zone in Egypt will be a key part of a new Suez Canal project, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said on Tuesday.

“Our talks have opened big prospects in this area. I hope that the creation of the Russian industrial zone in Egypt will become a component that will supplement the new Suez Canal project, which Egypt presented last week,” the Egyptian President said after his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
