USAF 6th Generation Fighters - Page 3 Empty Re: USAF 6th Generation Fighters

F-22 is made to hunt such aircraft.p

It is designed to hunt older generation aircraft with the full support of the USAF and C4ISTAR support, but with an enemy using super long range missiles and F-22 stealth probably not being as good as they pretend it is... and also the minor problem that they only made 189 F-22s and some have crashed and a very high percentage are not operational at any one time are very important factors.

The missiles it carries does not include a Phoenix or their new SAM based missiles seen on F-18s, and it is rather unlikely the few F-22s they do have operational will be operating outside the continental US.

That means the USN will be fighting Chinese forces with F-18s and upgraded F-16s and F-35s.

The Chinese copy of the F-35 actually looks better than the American version with two engines instead of one expensive one... it is slimmer and probably accelerates better... but most likely cannot take off vertically... but who cares?

Many of those Chinese planes are based on Su-27 and Su-35 types... the latter of which was intended to hunt F-22s... it has an IRST, which the F-22 does not, and likely those wing mounted long wave radars for detection of stealthy targets at long range... honestly a long range return on your L band radar showing something is there, while your powerful nose mounted Ka and Ku band radar sees nothing or just the tiniest of reflections... it is worth launching a long range IIR guided missile to that airspace to have a look... a big long range missile flying at mach 6 would cover the airspace pretty fast and the optical sensor would detect any aircraft actually there... when it is 300km away, what is the F-22 going to shoot back... and this is against 4+ gen fighters... the Chinese have all sorts of long range missiles, and so do the Russians when you include ground launched missiles...

F-15EX is made to counter such threats. Amraam will destroy them quite easily.

Ground launched AMRAAMs don't seem to be able to destroy them easily... maybe they are overrated too.

Remember Russian cruise missiles release decoys and chaff when they detect an incoming missile like they would with the AMRAAM with is active radar seeker.

Top fighters will be engaged by f-35 and f-22. Those chinese radars in their 4th gen fighter won't even see them and they have primitive RWR and probavly no datalinks.

The fight will be in Asia so forget the F-22s, they will be protecting the homeland, and the F-35s have a poor record and have not been tested against a modern capable enemy yet.

Having a r-37M with 400km range is useless if your su-30 can see a 5m2 target at only 140km.

Of course because in combat you can only fire at targets you have detected yourself and you cannot engage targets detected by other platforms on the ground or in the air... NOT.

Location of the fight, which is above the sea will give total advantage to the f-22 since chinese will have no where to hide and get closer.

The location of the fight over water... where are these F-22s operating from?

Land bases can be destroyed easily enough...

Only a fool would consider the amraam bad. They are quite effective.

They have average performance against 3rd gen fighters and downgraded 4th gen fighters being operated by third world countries.

Their performance in the ground launched version seems rather average too.

They don't have anything similar to the missiles Russkie operate for 30 years, so the sole solution they could figure was again a mass propaganda.
Games saturated with "AIM260" and all that shit, to make an average wanker believe that we are talking about existing cases.

And the hilarious thing is that in desperation they are copying the Iranian Air Force which they mocked at the time when they showed both HAWK SAMs and Standard SAMs being carried by fighter aircraft as a long range AAM.

Not so funny now it seems.
