Domestic smartphones and digital ecosystem will be developed for the Russian military
MOSCOW, June 18. / TASS /. The Russian Ministry of Defense, on the basis of the Era military technopolis, is developing domestically produced smartphones and mobile applications for military personnel and their family members for daily activities on the territory of military units. This was reported to TASS by the deputy head of the Department of Information Systems of the military department, Major General Alexander Osadchuk.
"We have here promoted solutions on the Aurora mobile platform, in this direction we are experimenting to create a secure phone, a smartphone, I emphasize, which will work in various modes, including those that will ensure secure communication," Osadchuk said on the fields of the international exhibition "Communication-2021".
According to him, the Era technopolis is already testing the Quartz project to create a digital ecosystem for the daily activities of the military. “We are trying to consider the possibility of using mobile applications to solve the problems of daily activities,” he said.
"The Passport system is being developed, which provides a serviceman with access to the data that he needs in everyday life," the deputy head of the department also noted.
Osadchuk added that this system was also created to optimize the daily activities of both a serviceman and his family members.

Typical braying at Russia for being 50 to 100 years behind the magical west omits dealing with reality.
Here we have the story of numerical control systems for various machining tools.
1) The production of machine tools is independent from numerical control (NC) systems. Russia
manufactures top class machine tools.
2) Russia has three companies that produce NC systems but you almost never hear about them.
3) Russian NC system production is affected by the legacy impact of customers choosing to install
western NC systems because their workers are used to using them. This has nothing to do with
Russian inferiority and the same dynamics affects western markets as well.
But (3) is changing especially as the west throws its ludicrous sanctions tantrums and Russian customers
see the wisdom of investing in security against western blackmail and industrial terrorism.
Rogozin also claimed that Russia cannot launch some satellites because the U.S. sanctions forbid his country from importing some microchips required for the Russian program, Reuters reported. (There is also a global shortage of microchips associated with manufacturing shutdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic.)
"We have more than enough rockets but nothing to launch them with," Rogozin said, according to Reuters. "We have spacecraft that are nearly assembled, but they lack one specific microchip set that we have no way of purchasing because of the sanctions."

We shall of course ignore the fact that making sure that there are enough rockets is Rogozin's job and that he not only failed miserably at it but also has the audacity to complain about him failing miserably at his one job
