    OK.... wow Shocked

It's even more complicated. Bunch a dudes who robbed WW2 section in Kubinka and Kragujevaç, got then straight off to Piraeus, took over a Cypriot fishing boat (yeah really), disembarked in Syria (stole some OSV's there), crossed the border with Iraq robbed the Baghdad independence museum, got some AMMZ's and Tabuks, then straight in Iran where they got some Tosans. From there on it's complicated. Some say they carjacked Santa Klaus, some say Ded Moroz gave them some clothes. But ultimately they ended up getting a rifle worth all their belongings from a Saudi post.

Such is life. Little rakes like the Saudis getting shit they don't deserve, then losing it to people who deserve more but can't have it.

wow Shocked Imagine all of this with Zero air support.
Just send a couple of thousands of them into Syria, imagine what they can achieve with proper air support.

    That's insane.

Holding out against full on mechanized forces with total air cover and artillery support is one thing.

You can make use of the terrain, hit and run tactics, entrenchment, that makes your light infantry near inexpugnable if your adversary isn't committing a lot of troops including a lot more infantry than what's you have (or at least infantry of much better quality) and therefore driving him to a stalemate.

It's been done before, it will be done again.

For such light forces to attack head on a so much bigger and a so much well armed opponent... and actually win, is mind boggling. That's not just military incompetence, that's entire levels deeper than that.

    It's impossible.

It's a handful of Incas invading XVIth century Spain.

Let's say it has a more "Gaulish raid on Rome" feel to it. Wink

Just remember; "Soviet weapons are shit". "Their military tactical value is inferior to Western ones". "Only illiterate peasants would use Soviet weapons to fight and they will lose every time against a Western trained military".

And then this happens. Anyway it's normal that Saudis get rear ended by Yemenis. Just get a look on how they train check for BDM internatinal, VInnell. It's just a bunch of guys being cockstrapped to their seat playing soldier.
There's also a lot of very vital thing the Yemenis do when they attack these posts. They take out commos and generators. That BP vest and G36 is a nice addition, but the most important thing is that they pick up many mission critical assets while disregarding automotive ones. Oh there are brand new Harris radios being transferred to Iran by the company. Expect "super Zulfiqar" 4 radios RI'd by Iran in a year or so.

Apparently crashed due to "technical malfunction", first it dropped all its load which fell as you can see on the pics above inside Yemen, and then crashed into Gulf, pilots were saved. Saudis have extremly high "failure" rate it seems.

"Saudi Arabia blames ‘technical failure’ for fighter jet crash, as air strikes continue. US forces rescue two pilots who ejected from their F-15 fighter jet following a technical fault during a bombing mission on Yemen"

There are reports to the effect that a 6th Saudi warship has been sunk since the top infographic was published. Apparently it was sunk using rockets fired from an MRL.

That F15 is in bits, looks like the technical failure was due to Soviet era mis-management of surface to air missile. clown Bad Russia.

What is on pic is only its warload and Conformal Fuel Tanks, apparently it droped them while flying over Yemen to...improve chances of leaving enemy airspace? And then crashed into sea apparently.

I wasn't aware that the F-15E and variants could even drop their CFTs midflight. I personally know a F-15E who I could ask yet I don't know if he will answer that.

    Sarcasm? Question

In any case F-15 conformal fuel tanks can't be detached from the fuselage inflight.

Yap, looks like the pilot got cocky and flew to low, then Igla/Strela did the rest, who knows maybe a KUB did it. Wink

It could have been structural crack that made CFT to puncture/crack and detach due to drag, which would cause jet to later crash due to engine damage or similar. However it did detach all of its A-A armaments they fell near tank, which means pilot did it on its own.

In this image we are possibly also seeing the right wing root extension with opening for the Vulcan visible.

Regardless, these images indicate that this F-15 has got shot down, and it wasn't a mechanical failure.

If it was "mechanical failure" as they claim than it was more of a structural failure. I dont see what kind of mechanical issue would cause half of the jet to detach from the rest unless some serious crack on the fuselage occured.

Or it, was shot down, why not. However i dont know what could have been used, F15E/S mostly fly on fairly secure altitudes, Saudis do not care about warload price. Almost everything they carry is guided.
