Re: Russian Medical Development: News
Interest in Sputnik V in Central Europe
Lev Udolsky & Gabor Tanacs • 04/16/2021
Twenty million doses of Sputnik V vaccine will be produced at the Torlak Institute of Virology and Serum in Belgrade. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic also announced that the country is already packaging the Russian vaccine, but this is only the first step:
"We intend to develop both research and production - everything that will allow us to become a super-powerful vaccine manufacturer in the next ten to twelve years".
Sputnik V was highly appreciated by the authoritative medical journal Lancet, and its use has already been approved in sixty countries around the world. Moreover, among the EU countries, only Hungary is vaccinated with this drug.
The purchase of Sputnik V by Slovakia caused a government crisis and led to the resignation of the prime minister. The new government sent samples of the Russian vaccine to Hungary for testing. It is expected to start vaccination in Slovakia in early May.
“I agree that we must make up for the lack of vaccines. But it is just as important to ensure that our citizens receive a reliable and safe vaccine that will help save human lives, ”explained the delay in vaccination, Chairperson of the Health Committee of the National Council (Parliament) of Slovakia, Yana Bitto Tsyganikova.
Meanwhile, Austria has already announced the purchase of one million doses of Sputnik V. The Czech Republic is also considering this possibility after the resignation of the Minister of Health, who opposed the purchase of the Russian vaccine.

Russia’s Sputnik V recognized as safest and most efficient Covid vaccine in Hungary
Thus, according to the Hungarian data, Sputnik V has up to 32 fewer fatalities and six times lower infection rate than the Pfizer vaccine.
MOSCOW, April 25. /TASS/. Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine has been recognized as the safest and most efficient vaccine, as follows form Sunday’s post on the vaccine’s official Twitter account.
"The government of Hungary, the 1st EU country to start using Sputnik V, released its latest data on safety and efficacy across 5 vaccines," it reads. "SputnikV has the best safety (7-32 times fewer deaths cases) and efficacy (2-7 times fewer COVID infections) per 100,000 vaccinated."
Thus, according to the Hungarian data, Sputnik V has up to 32 fewer fatalities and six times lower infection rate than the Pfizer vaccine.
The Sputnik V account recalled the April 22 statement by Hungary’s PM chief of staff Gergely Gulyas who said that Sinopharm is better than Pfizer, but Sputnik V is the best.
Hungary was the first European Union nation to receive Sputnik V samples for tests in November 2020. In February 2021, Hungary’s National Public Health Center certified the use of the Russian vaccine in Hungary.
To date, five coronavirus vaccines are available in Hungary, namely Pfizer and BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, and Sputnik V.

Get in line... And triple charge them and use the added revenue to pay for extra vaccines for countries that can't afford them... or are under US sanction and have trouble getting other vaccines...

Re: Russian Medical Development: News
They can't attack the fact that it kills people or that it doesn't work, they attack it by suggesting they can't make enough of it...
Considering India is going to be making it themselves I think they are a bit bitter because they were probably expecting to be making lots of money making vaccines for India and China, but if India has Sputnik V and its own Vaccines and China has its own vaccines too that is 3 billion people they wont be selling vaccines to and it hurts them.
Love how they halve the apparent production rate by calling two doses one vaccination.
Most of the countries Russia is selling Sputnik to will be making it themselves so production rates in Russia don't have to massively increase to supply the whole world.
It is greedy western companies that loved to trash talk Sputnik V but are now frantically trying to muzzle criticisms of their own products to improve vaccination rates and obviously cover their own asses.
How about those western companies that produced bad vaccines that cause serious side effects stop producing their experimental vaccines and buy a contract to produce Sputnik V and save some lives instead of focussing on making money.
Needless to say Reuters....

Re: Russian Medical Development: News
The west can't play fair. Sore losers and cheats up and down the line.
The whole "existential threat" from Russia drivel takes the cake. The past 1000 years of history proves that it the west that is the
existential threat to Russia.
It should be noted that Pfizer et al. are using mafia tactics to secure their market share. They have control over the vermin that pass
for western politicians and who deliberately block sales of competing vaccines from China and Russia, while signing away all indemnity
for damage caused by the "superior" western vaccines. What happened to free markets, eh? They are "free" only if select western
companies get to "compete"? What a retarded joke.

Re: Russian Medical Development: News
The battle for Europe still rages on. In today's RTNews:
Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine hasn’t been approved by EU due to political pressure from top officials – Moscow’s spy chief.
Russia’s Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine has yet to be registered in the European Union due to political pressure from the bloc’s leaders. That’s according to Sergey Naryshkin, head of the country’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).
Speaking on national television, Russia’s top spy said that the European Medicines Agency (EMA) is “dragging its feet” because of influence from the top of the EU, and not due to any genuine scientific concern.
“I don’t want to blame the experts and specialists of the European Medicines Agency,” Naryshkin said. “But we reliably know that this procrastination is related to signals that come from on high of the European Union.”
The EMA has been studying Sputnik V for some time, and started officially reviewing the vaccine in March. However, a decision has been slow to come from the regulator, despite published research showing the vaccine to be as good as or better than registered jabs. The Russian Direct Investment Fund, which financed the shot, claims it has shown 97.6% effectiveness in what it termed a “real-world study.” An appraisal published in February in the British medical journal The Lancet showed 91.6% efficacy.
The latest accusations come a day after Naryshkin claimed that the EU is preparing a smear campaign against Russia, saying that Brussels wants to accuse Moscow of inciting an anti-vaccination movement abroad.
In March, Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed that foreign interest in Sputnik V is growing, despite what he called “deliberate discrediting” and “outright fabrications.”

Re: Russian Medical Development: News
Who does not let "Sputnik V" into Europe.
May 20, 2021.
Russian foreign intelligence has learned that registration in the EU of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 is being slowed down due to pressure on the European Medicines Agency from the high offices of the Brussels bureaucracy. At the same time, the EU authorities propose to allow entry only to those vaccinated with vaccines approved by the European regulator. Will traveling Russians have to be vaccinated with foreign drugs?
Registration of the Russian vaccine "Sputnik V" in the EU countries is being delayed due to "signals from high offices" in Brussels, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin said on Wednesday. He called such behavior immoral in a pandemic.
“The European Medicines Agency (EMA), which carries out the registration of all medicinal products, is pulling, - said the head of the SVR. - I don't want to blame EMA experts and specialists, but we know for certain that this delay is connected with the corresponding signals ... Why is this happening? Are there only political reasons for this, or is there still an economic factor? I don’t know, let the citizens of European countries and law enforcement agencies understand this themselves, but we understand that this is simply immoral".
Earlier, European authorities tried to discredit the Russian vaccine in the eyes of Europeans. For example, in March, European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton announced on TF1 TV that the European Union absolutely did not need Sputnik V. Later, the same European official said that even if the Russian vaccine was allowed in Europe, Sputnik V would come too late. Also, the European Commissioner doubted that the required number of Sputnik V doses would be available in the EU until the end of 2021. These allegations prompted the manufacturers of Sputnik V to send a letter to Breton asking them to stop biased statements against the drug.
Now, along with the delay in registration of the Russian vaccine in their countries, the EU leadership is sowing fears among already vaccinated tourists that they may not be allowed into the EU. On Wednesday, sources in the EU's governing bodies said that EU countries would agree to allow fully vaccinated tourists to enter the community. At the same time, the European Commission recommended that EU countries allow entry only to tourists vaccinated with drugs certified by the EMA agency - and Sputnik V and other Russian vaccines are not included in their list.
“This is how the international pharmaceutical lobby works and how it commands European officials. They are puppets.
But these EU officials must be told that hundreds of lives are on their conscience. If they had registered our vaccine, then a much larger population would have been vaccinated. Every vaccinated person is a saved life, ”State Duma deputy, former chief sanitary doctor of Russia Gennady Onishchenko told the VZGLYAD newspaper.
The parliamentarian stressed that the actions of the authorities in those 60 countries of the world where Sputnik V has already been registered look much more adequate. “India, where the situation is now the most difficult in terms of the epidemiological process, has adjusted the production of our vaccine, although it also delayed it. Europeans only make themselves worse, "Onishchenko said.
People from the "high offices" who prevent the registration of "Sputnik V" can be divided into two categories, believes Stanislav Tkachenko, professor of the Department of European Studies at the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University, an expert of the Valdai Club. In his opinion, first of all, these are those "pharmaceutical European companies that claim a market measured in billions of euros" and politicians who lobby for the interests of Big Pharma at the level of the Brussels leadership.
Tkachenko included in the second group the Russophobic politicians "who know that Europe has soft power resources." “The opportunity to deprive Russia of the European market is an instrument of economic coercion or soft power, which the European Union has, but Russia does not. In this sense, we can regret, but we cannot do anything. This is the sovereign right of Europeans, ”the political scientist explained.
Tkachenko, however, does not share the fears that if the Russian vaccine is not approved by the European Union, then the Russians entering the EU countries will have to be vaccinated with a foreign vaccine (even if there is Sputnik V vaccination): “It will be necessary to do a test showing the number antibodies, and enter with these tests. There is no requirement to pass only EU-registered vaccines. The Europeans will let Russians into Europe, they need our money, our tourists and businessmen".
It cannot be said that the EU leadership deliberately slows down the process of recognition of Sputnik V (registration of pharmaceuticals is a long process), but it clearly does not seek to speed it up, believes Gleb Kuznetsov, a political scientist and head of the expert council of the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISI).
“Of course, Sputnik V will be registered in the European Union,” the interlocutor believes, “But this will happen when the EU covers its needs with other vaccines. This will allow them to declare later that they did not need the Russian drug at all. Pharmacological leaders of the European Union openly say that by the middle of summer they will not need Sputnik V ”.
The political scientist called the fears that visitors will have to do two vaccinations - Russian and foreign, if our vaccine is not approved in the EU - unfounded. “The vaccine passport, which is being discussed in the EU, says that either vaccinated, or with an antibody test, or with a negative PCR test will be allowed. Thus, they will be allowed in including those who are not vaccinated, ”Kuznetsov explained.

Re: Russian Medical Development: News
Perhaps Russia should ban people coming from the EU and Russian people going to the EU till the EU can decide whether they want Sputnik V or not.
Cutting off that economic income for the EU would be good for Russia, maybe those Russians will travel around Russia instead and spend money there...
Russia should start talking about these experimental western vaccines as being fundamentally unsafe because there is no history and no track record to look at and evaluate... let the west be the guinea pig for such technology...

Excellent idea. It was Russian loser west sycophants who brought the first wave of Covid-19 from Italy after Russia had successfully stopped the spread
from China. I say let those west-o-philes stay outside Russia for the duration of the pandemic.
And Pfizer and Moderna GMOs should be considered a risk. They all have the same target molecules on their cells that have a high risk of generating
a new viral pandemic by creating a vast pool of hundreds of millions (if not billions) of mono-culture hosts. This is not a joke, it's deadly serious.

RDIF and UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) agree to supply 220 million doses of Sputnik V.
RDIF and the United Nations Children's Fund announce an agreement to supply 220 million doses of Sputnik V, a two-component Russian coronavirus vaccine, to vaccinate 110 million people.
The agreement with UNICEF on the Sputnik V vaccine will expand access to and meet the demand for vaccines around the world, the fund said. “Supply to UNICEF will become possible after the vaccine is added to the list of products recommended by WHO for procurement in an emergency.
RDIF announced the filing of an application with WHO for registration and prequalification of Sputnik V in October 2020. The decision of the WHO is expected in the near future, ”the message says.

Approval of Sputnik V vaccine in EU proceeds according to schedule — Health Minister
"The inspections continue, the work goes on," Mikhail Murashko noted.
MOSCOW, June 28. /TASS/. The acquisition of permission to use the Sputnik V vaccine in the EU goes in accordance with the schedule, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said in an interview Monday.
"The inspections continue, the work goes on. This is not our procedure, so I can’t speak for it, but, in any case, we are moving in accordance with the schedule," he said, answering a question on the timeline of the registration of the Sputnik V in the EU.
According to the Minister, people, who doubt the necessity of vaccination, may change their mind, once the Russian medicine is approved in the EU.
He acknowledged that some Russians would like to vaccinate with imported vaccines.
"There is an adherence to foreign-made things in our society. However, many people see now that our certain products are better," he added.
The mass vaccination in Russia began on January 18. According to the recent statistics, 23 million people have already taken a vaccine.
