Apparently, we already have 2(!) Pantsir S1 batteries and soon we are expecting more.

He also said that we are expecting to receive very soon 4 Mi-35M's, 3 Mi-175V's, 11 Mi-35P's (Cyprus) and 10 H-145M's

Also, we will soon receive Krasukha, Repellent, also Kornet rockets and who knows what...

He was also talking about another fighter-bomber squadron and that Air Force also needs more MIG figters (?!)

He explained that our military will anually order for 250 million euros worth military equipment from our factories, for the next 5 years. That means 1,25 billion of euros in 5 years.

That includes at least 54 NORA B-52 howitzers and a lot of other systems and vehicles....

For that money it's safe to say that we will soon be swimming in MRAPs and IFVs Cool

I see that our military is learning from Pentagon-sensei, excellent thumbsup

Military euipement purchases are made with politic reasons most of the time and not for the perfs of the hardware.

Serbia has no poltic power thus very unlikely they sell a lot of them. Maybe some non alligned countries could buy from them but no big contracts can be expected.

Scotland hasn't had a automotive industry since the late 1970s when the last one was closed down in Linwood, we would have to build a plant from scratch and learn how to manufacture them, i think our preference would to buy them off the shelf, Scotland is a country of 5.4 million ... the contract would be for over a 100 APCs/IFVs and around 30 to 45 Nora's, what would be cheaper for Scotland is to invest in Yugo import and create a partnership to increase there production levels that would be beneficial for both parties and the Serbia economy

And it would be more politically acceptable for an independent Scotland to buy from Serbia than from Russia.

seriously f**k America and what Americans think, we will already be on the bad books regarding Faslane and the removal of the rUK's nuke forces and non NATO membership means NATO loses control over the southern half of the Atlantic gap as we will not cede control when it's near the Shetland islands and our oil & gas industry

i'm just stating it would be better for Scotland to have certain weapon systems built out side Scotland when we have no infrastructure manufacture said weapons systems that can be rectified over time when we can build a weapons manufacturing industry in Scotland out with ship building

You don't need to sell me on that, I wasn't really thinking of America at all, more thinking of the EU, and relations with your european neighbours.

A split with the UK and starting to buy weapons from countries that are not approved (Russia), would be a lot of dangerous steps all at once... when entering a minefield... by all means reach ahead with your walking sticks... don't run.

I honestly am torn, but I support Russia and China and India and Brazil and South Africas vision of a multipolar world... the EU could be a power, but then Germany and France and the UK might want their own poles and their own individual voices...

    Anyway... off topic.

It would be better for Scotland to buy serious equipment that will most likely work than stuff that will just make your soldiers deaf.

admittedly we will have limited countries we will able to buy from the euro fighter has a lot of English components like Rolls Royce engines, the Gripens are made up of 60% American and rUK components so that will be a no no, i'm pretty sure America will put a weapon sales embargo on Scotland  in support of the rUK over Faslane and it's also why they will give us a ultimatum, allow rUK continued access to Faslane or NATO membership you can guess what our response will be .

So interceptor Aircraft/fast jets leave the Rafale (if thats not blocked) or Russian made Aircraft ... Scotland has extremely longstanding ties with France dating back to 1296 AD the Auld Alliance, Ships we have that covered we have a long history of ship building in Scotland military and civilian Ground based equipment as i said it depends if other NATO nations block defence sales to Scotland then the choices could be limited again with Serbia, Finland, Russia, South Africa and China ... the preference will be European for spare parts supplies

then we will need air defence systems ... we currently contribute £4 billion towards UK defence spending or $5.5 billion ... the word i've heard is the SNP government want a robust defence force because we have large maritime boundary 62% of the current UK  waters

Europe is deeply divided between East & West France and Germany do not really trust America the antics of the Snowden files etc and American aggression/sanctions over Nordstream 2 and America, London and the Aussies stabbing France in the back

Works out to around €6.479m a unit.

Serbia sold 48 Nora B52 wheeled self-propelled howitzers to an unnamed country.

According to the Serbian portal b92.net, President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed the contract.

The deal to supply artillery systems is worth €311 million.

Vučić did not name the country and only noted that it was not located “in Africa.” According to him, the country’s president and parliament have yet to complete the formal procedures for approving the Nora B52 ACS order.

The deal to supply 48 Serbian wheeled self-propelled howitzers was announced back in November

A number of sources in Serbia and the Caucasus claim that Azerbaijan is the customer of this large batch of Nora B52s. However, there is no official confirmation of this information.

The Nora B52 is a Serbian wheeled self-propelled howitzer developed by Yugoimport SDPR engineers in 2006
