I have no problem with KSA getting Iskanders, but only delivered in flight... Rolling Eyes

What are the KSA scumbags trying to "buy" now, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen? Few years back they tried to "buy" Syria from Russia by offering to make an order for 150 Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters among possibly other things.

Iran will be buying Iksander-M from Russia . Russia must respect it allies and avoid selling such missiles to wahabi sandbags .

No, the Saudi's are known for politicized arms sales, and they see buying arms from Russia as a way of bribing and distracting the elite. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to order 200 Iskander-M complexes, but I really hope Russia doesn't take the bait. There's far more 'true' value with a relationship with Iran, than with the Saudis.

Book, do you mean that KSA said they want to "order" S-300V, Tor, T-90 and Mi-17 in addition to Iskander? You have a link to that by any chance? Thanks.

Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman meets Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg on Thursday to discuss ties and confirm the Saudi King's upcoming visit.
Saudi Defense Minister, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum on Thursday and discussed ties.

The crown prince also said that Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud has accepted the invitation to visit Russia and in turn, invited Putin to visit Saudi Arabia. The prince's arrival marks the first visit since relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia soured after the conflict in Syria began in 2011, where Saudi Arabia supported the anti-government rebels.

"The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques [King Salman] confirms that he accepts the invitation to visit Russia," Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman said.

Putin responded that he accepts the offer "with pleasure." The Russian president last visited Saudi Arabia in 2007. Saudi representatives at the exposition also expressed interest in buying entire ships as well as Iskander missile launchers and telecommunications equipment.
"The visit is very important and will determine future prospects, as well as opportunities to advance strategic relations based on a solid foundation and mutual respect which can change the paradigm and begin a new era in relations between the two countries," Saudi Arabian ambassador to Russia Abdulrahman al-Rassi said ahead of the visit.

They likely want to purchase Iskander to create a message around the world and especially in US congress and WH that they started the 'Nuclear arms race' to force them to stop Iran from getting a nuke.

Russia ready to export Iskander missile complexes to Saudi Arabia

The announcement comes across as a new development, since officials of the St Petersburg-based Machine-Building Design Bureau have said previously the Iskanders will not be exported

St PETERSBURG, July 3. /TASS/. Russia is ready to supply Iskander tactical missile complexes to Saudi Arabia, Igor Sevastyanov, a deputy director general of Russia’s state weaponry trading corporation Rosoboronexport said on Friday.

"If we, let’s say, begin the talks today they will certainly take some time," he said. "I think if Saudi Arabia wants buying this equipment, Russia will supply it."

For the process to begin, however, a number of procedures should be fulfilled as the first step. Also, the customer should have earnest willingness, Sevastyanov added.

In addition to it, a presentation of coastal guard ships and patrol vessels has been done for the Saudi Arabian delegation at the International Naval Show underway in St Petersburg.

Sevastyanov’s announcement regarding Iskanders comes across as a new development, since officials of the St Petersburg-based Machine-Building Design Bureau have said previously the Iskanders will not be exported. Nonetheless, the missile complexes have been entered in the least of defence products that can be exported.

In June, a Saudi delegation visited the Army’2015 defence forum in the Moscow region to hold talks on purchasing the complexes.

Saudi FM certain contract on Russian Iskander missile supplies will be signed soon

Over the past two months there have been several visits by Saudi Arabia's military delegations to Russia

MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. Saudi Arabia is discussing buying Russia’s Iskander tactical missile systems, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday.

"Saudi Arabia is set to intensify relations with Russia in all the spheres, including in the military field," al-Jubeir said.

"Intensive contacts are taking place between the military delegations and specialists from both countries and a wide range of intended types of armaments from Russia is being discussed, including Iskander missile systems," the Saudi foreign minister said.

In general, the deliveries of Russian armaments are being actively discussed and a contract may be signed soon, the Saudi foreign minister said.

"In the past two months, our military delegations have made several visits to Russia to hold substantive talks on the types of armaments," he said.

"I’m sure such a contract will be signed soon," he added.

Iskander tactical ballistic missile systems are capable of hitting both small-size and large-area targets at a distance of up to 500 km to destroy missile and multiple launch rocket systems, long-range artillery guns, aircraft and helicopters at aerodromes, command posts and communications centers.

The Iskander tactical ballistic missile complex includes a launcher, a loader-transporter, a routine maintenance vehicle, a command post vehicle, an information post, an ammunition equipment set and training aids.

Nice to hear that. Great way of mending fences and Saudi Arabia could be a huge market for Russia. Also it highlights that the Western stranglehold on the Middle East may slowly be subsiding.

Saudi Arabia is interested in acquiring Russia’s S-400 missile defense systems, but so far only China has signed a contract for their deliveries, the head of Russia’s state technologies corporation Rostec said Monday.

“There are many who want this, including Saudi Arabia, but so far no one has signed a contract except China,” Sergei Chemezev said at the Dubai Airshow-2015

Photos of military special forces of Saudi Arabia, who landed in Yemen in August 2015. Draws attention to small arms soldiers. It is believed that it is the Russian AK-103. It is known that Russia supplied the Saudi party machines of this type in the mid-2000s., the customer is the Ministry of the Interior of the country.

Actually the Orders we see here are for the Saudi Army, and the order was from 2010 and it was implemented from 2011 till 2013. Dead give away is the OBZOR red dot which is in modern package, unlike the Russian Army model.
