    Hello all!

My name is Jonathan Wade and I am a combat veteran of Afghanistan. I served for 14 years in the Canadian Forces with the Royal 22nd Regiment. I was medically discharged last year due to combat-related wounds.

I now own a blog called The Sentinel where I write about Canada, Russia and NATO news.

I came across this forum and I have decided to join it.

I am very open-minded and will answer to both dignity and respect to all your questions / comments.... even if they are critics.

I look forward to participate in many discussions and I remain available if you have questions!

    Thanks!

What is your opinion on Canada's aid to usa regime in Ukraine . I noticed Harper is helping the regime way out just to gain confidence and trust of ukrainian diaspora in Canada ?

Did you guard those poppy fields in Afghanistan ? Because that's what nato mission was to supress usa created taliban in afgh from destroying drugs .

I think Harper is putting alot on focus on the Ukrainian Canadians for this year's election. I tend to remain objective on the whole Russia-Ukraine situation—both sides has good and bad.

As for Afghanistan, I was mentoring the ANA in Kandahar on the frontline. For the poppy field, I wasn't working with the Afghan National Police so I didn't had to deal with poppy fields.

You simply wrote the western media narrative (from reuters on denmark article) . You need to put Russia's perspective too .

    welcome

Respect for your service. I must say I am intrigued as to what the views of a career NATO soldier/officer are on Russia as it is today. As far as I recall, we have another member who served in Afghanistan too.

A forum like this can be an invaluable resource; particularly if you have an interest in Russian military doctrine, perspectives and insights on geopolitics or poltiical situations the world over, or just equipment and weaponary. It's also very good at getting rid of any misconceptions you might hold - as no doubt they will be challenged - but what you will be left with as a result, are indisputable facts and a point of view that has withstood scrutiny - while tired old propaganda and stereotypes get shown the door Very Happy

Thank you! As you will see when you visit my blog, thesentinel dot ca, I try to look on both sides so I am not biased.

As for my views, I would say that I am not really leaning on NATO nor Russia's side. Both sides have good and bad and I am eageŕy trying to prove it.

I am really looking forward into reading and learning more about Russia.

I recently started Russian language courses so I can read and talk (even if its basic) Russian!
