Have you any information about VKO satellite system?

I have a feeling they wont go for just tracking ICBM launch like today`s EW satellites. This ones will be integrated with the newly formed

aerospace defense and they could use them to track balistic/cruise missiles but even fighters/bombers and provide EW.

Are there any photos of S-500 missiles anywhere?Will it enter service in the PVo about the same time as the armata enters service in the Russian army?

Besides Russia is developing very complex(ultra complex) arrangements of air and missile defenses as detailed by Victor.

These are the reasons for taking long time to develop whole set of technology.

The latest report suggests Almaz-antey has shifted its focus on S-400 upgrade ,
dont know the name though of (S-400 upgrade).The work load of different technologies developed at same time
is dramatically affecting the time taken to come out with prototypes.

A-235 strategic missle defence is also in the works. It is ahuge system. Developed in complete secrecy.

A long range missile(offcial designation unknown) S-500 missile did go into testing in 2013 .But it will be integrated with s-400 , thats what was reported in interfax.

77N6 and 77N6-N1 being developed now, I suspect these are not the actual names.PLease not

ok thx for the info. BTW I was just being curious in a theoretical full nuclear exchange scenario if the Russian PVO would actually be able to destroy enough incoming warheads so that the country isn't entirely turned into a worthless radioactive wasteland and so there are actual civilians saved

If there is a full out nuclear exchange, they won't do squat.

They would buy time, that's about it.

What is the meaning of "AME" .. in this article

I more think next generation ABM missiles will be launched from air, ground and sea. Ground based SAM S-500 missile could be basic missile for all, Mig-31 replacement, S-500 and naval system for modernized Kirov cruiser or new class destroyer.

I think that one per S-400 regiment. That would give about about 4-5 up to now just for S-400 system.

Nebo-M is also intended (I dont know if it is made) for S-300V4 and if the plans for 9 S-300V4 brigades until 2020 are correct

that would mean up to 36 Nebo-M complex just for S-300V4.

All in all for S-400 and S-300V4 if the numbers mentioned in the press are correct that would mean that till 2020:

- 28 Nebo-M for 28 S-400 regiments

- 36 Nebo-M for 36 S-300V4 regiments

That would make 64 NEBO-M complex by 2020. Numbers of other radars types that should enter service till 2020 is many times higher.

Anyway for this year it is planed about 20 unspecified radar types to enter ADF.

hmm what's that dark grey missile at the front of the motto banner ?

It's kinda similar shape as the 2nd Stage of 9M83 missile for S-300V's but kinda different with small canard perhaps at its nose.

Thing is that Russians when making stuff always make 100 variation of the same thing (no matter what that is)

during development and after (while developing modernization) and there you can really see anything.

This missile looks like 48N6 added with extra pair of fins at the top and with some kind of smaller 9M83 nozzles attached to it.

It looks very cool though.
