Post  andrewlya Sun Oct 04, 2015 11:46 am

Hi guys, ive heard that overall crime rate is higher in the US than Russia.

What about homicide rate, is it higher in the US than Russia with all these mass shootings by psychos at schools and Colleges + rival street gangs?
What do national statistics between the countries tell us?

I wouldn't use wikipedia for anything.

Your question also suggests domestic sources for their crime rates and wikipedia certainly is not one of them.

Less than 40 people each year are killed in "mass shootings" in the USA.

Most gun deaths are hardcore criminals shooting each other, nobody cares about that.

According to Gunpolicy.org, Russians have far fewer guns than Americans — and far more homicides.

There are fewer than 13 million firearms in circulation in Russia, compared with an estimated 300 million in the United States. That works out to about 9 guns per 100 people in Russia and closed to 100 guns per 100 people in America.

The most recent homicide statistics for Russia show that there were 21,603 killings in 2009.

According to the FBI, the United States had 13,636 homicides in 2009 with a population that is more than twice as large. More than 80 percent of those killings were gun-related.

US statistics do not count in murder by police with non lethal weapons such as tazer, pepperspray or suffocation by cop brutality of sitting 6 people on one guy like we can see in hundreds of videos.

Also statistics suck ass, it does not matter how many guns there are when you have more video footage proof of unarmed people, very often blacks, getting killed while by statistics they should be armed. Such things do not happen in russia, they are in fact almost non existent and when something like that happens it is a big outcry, in US it is hourly buisness.

American police kill about 1200 people per year, some killings are justified, some are questionable, some are clearly unjustified.

In some nations [i.e. Brazil] the police kill almost 7,000 people per year.

Actually the FBI declined to post a "wanted poster" for Bin Laden in regards to 9/11 on the grounds, "we have no credible evidence that he was involved."
