Opposition begins receiving Stingers to shoot down Russian helicopters.

    https://twitter.com/joshua_landis/status/722083728072159232?lang=en

Meanwhile, the delusional Putin says the peace treaty is holding. Um nop, that is a ONE sided peace treaty.

Once Russian helicopters start falling from the sky in large numbers, Putin will face backlash in Russia and social unrest will start in Russia. It might take 100 Stingers to shoot down a Russian helicopter because of President S, but no shield can stop all the arrows.

    I quote from the article:

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the purpose of the call was to "make the case to President Putin that he should use his influence with the Assad regime to live up to the commitments that they've made in the context of the cessation of hostilities."

Opposition does not care about peace treaty. If SAA respects the peace treaty, then it is only a one sided peace treaty. So what I said is entirely accurate.

Just relax dude a bit. You exagerate things more than they are .
Just because obama says something ,that does not means Putin will agree with it does it?

Here is news for you. just released minutes ago..

President Bashar al-‪#‎Assad‬ on Monday received a congratulatory cable from Russian President Vladimir ‪#‎Putin‬ on occasion of Evacuation Day, Syria’s National Day.
In the cable, President Putin affirmed his country’s determination to continue providing active assistance for the ‪#‎Syrian‬ government in its battle against terrorist organizations, asserting that ‪#‎Russia‬ will continue to support the Syrian state’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and safety, in addition to supporting the political solution for the crisis in Syria via comprehensive national dialogue.
Putin voiced confidence that continuing to develop Russian-Syrian friendly relations meets the essential interests of the two countries’ peoples, wishing President al-Assad health and success, and wishing the Syrian people the return of safe and prosperous life very soon.

now lets see what churkin told recently..

‎Russia‬ will continue to support the ‪#‎SyrianArmy‬ against ‪#‎terrorists‬: ‪#‎Churkin‬

    https://www.facebook.com/syria24english

It seems Obama will continue the war ,but Russia is not going to give up without a fight.
About stinger missiles.. the terrorist have them since 2012 at least. and the Syrian army captured some of them long time ago from the terrorist ,they are useless to target planes flying beyond 6km altitude . So Russia airforce is safe from those ,And President S counter electronics defenses have been designed to defeat Stinger missiles too. You don't expect that those missiles that gave trouble to soviets in the 70s ,that Russia defense industry will not design defense against them no?

take a look at this video.. President S  anti manpads defenses work ,according to Russian
military promotional videos.  and they even specifically mention Stinger missiles and how can even hellicopters can defeat them now .

In short americans will need to provide something far more expensive ,and more advanced
and complex ,that their stingers missiles to effectively target Russian hellicopters. Something completely new and modern that have never seen before in combat. perhaps a rail gun but such things are no way mobile. or Lazer weapons ,they use in warships to somehow manage to deploy such huge weapon in Syria. doubtful they can do that. however Regular anti air artillery
can damage hellicopters . or dust in engines too , So wars will never be without risk. I think Mi-28 can survive direct 22mm hits from anti air artillery. but not sure what terrorist use.

the only thing that worry me is American sidewinder missiles. saw unconfirmed rumors and reports in facebook sites like the one above ,about that ,that the CIA was customizing trucks to launch anti air missiles that usually carry combat planes. to fire the missiles from trucks
instead of planes.Such missiles can cost half a million dollar each , but if Russia detect anyone
or capture terrorist with one of those missiles with be an act of direct war on Americans in Russia. And Russia will have a legitimate right to take the issue to UN and demand United States an explanation for that and show the world evidence how americans provide ISIS with half a million dollar missiles. That will be a real scandal ,that they will be unable to hide. if one of them captured. Because it cannot be said they bough those missiles in the black market.
So according to Russia defense industry, Stinger missiles is not an issue. they can defeat them
with counter electronics and other defenses.

    and some good news..

So called "Opposition" pages admit there failed militant operation called "‫#‏رد_المظالم‬" in Arabic and that the ‪#‎Syrianarmy‬ has recovered all points lost in the countryside of ‪#‎Latakia‬

It looks ,it appears that the Pentagon are officially now in a new major offensive against Russia .
They sending now a squadron US EA-6B Prowlers to jam communications of the operations of Russia and Syria ,to counter S-400 air defenses and provide cover to their terrorist operations
in Syria ,so Russia cannot identify correctly the terrorist communications.

as i told before ,Americans have nothing to lose and a lot to win by sending their most advanced
weapons to Syria. as a testing laboratory. To see how their equipment does against Russia air defenses.   I really hope Russia no longer continues the american games and start shooting down american planes at the first mistake they do and attack Syrian army or Russia ,so they learn to respect Russia and Syria. Arrogance of the American elite only respect power and force ,they will never back down their illegal war in Syria unless terrorist totally crushed and defeated and all zones captured. I repeat again that Russia can put an end to the war in Syria by taking the fight Directly to United States. Just sink a couple of warships and combat jets but not before a major ultimatum and warning ,that if they continue interfering with Russia fight against terrorism in Syria and providing political support to ISIS and Alqaeda and nations aiding them ,that Russia will consider United States a legitimate target for their attacks until they stop
their illegal war against Syria and IRAQ and aiding terrorism. thats what i will have done long time ago ,but Putin soft policy against Americans encourage them to continue attacking Russia by proxy because they feel there is nothing to lose in continue supporting terrorist in Syria to fight Russia. The American population will not support a war with Russia in defense of Alqaeda or ISIS.  The moral standing will be on Russia side and Europe will pressure American too stop their insanity in Syria.

Those are old beasts. Not even the best they have. Add to that, US had a crap load of problems trying to jam even older S-300's, let alone never attempting on anything newer than a PMU-1. As well, the only system capable of jamming it was a Il-76 modified with EW capabilities, and even that jammed itself in the process.

But good luck to them, Russia can easily jam them back.

This is not going to happen because of two things:

    1. Russia is not strong enough to confront the West openly like this.
    2. The Russian leadership is extremely careful, even passive. They will rather withdraw from Syria and let the enemy win than go into direct war with the West.

The thing I don't get is that why Russia went to Syria at all. Did Russia think that the West would allow Russia to win in Syria without serious fight? Did Russia not have any other backup plan than withdrawal in a case the West upped their stake in Syria?

I agree, although I am not wanted over there, OK banned, I still watch the site, which has settled down quite well now. After serious Mod action their Syria thread has become pretty clean, staying on subject with virtually no need for Mod action recently. Which is a bit of a contrast to the two threads here.

Whilst understanding Garry's 'live and let live', everyone can have their point of view attitude, one has to wonder just how many visitors to the threads have given up and gone away or posters who have done the same, not prepared to wade through the dross anymore. Especially sad is that we do not appear to have attracted anyone actually in or close to Syria to post here.

Many long and short term members here have expressed their views, quite forceably at times about this situation. Don't we have rights that need protecting too?

I second GarryB's desire to keep forum's open to converse ideas and opinions. Its important in an increasingly totalitarian world. Yet I understand Ultron's monomaniac repetitions have become tedious for many posters here.

Personally the rabid hatred Ultron holds for Putin has reduced anything he says to pure comedy. I can't help but visualise him as Garry Kasparov ranting in the style of Basil Fawlty. Works better than the ignore button and means I never take anything he writes seriously. Wink

Both him and Karl are annoying. They come up with the own alternative universe of what "Putin" will do, even though they were proven wrong every time. If it isn't trolling, then I don't know what is.

Great! thumbsup So much about end of al-Assad bla, bla, bla...only panic was spreaded.

A ceasefire between hardcore jihadis (for example Nusra) and SAA never existed, so the end of ceasefire was no surprise. SAA has a good defense now, thanks to russian training and support. SAA never lost a city in the last weeks, only the village el-Eis to Nusra and a few very small villages in the near of Khanaser to Daesh. I heard only bla, bla, bla...SAA is losing the jihadis are winning, especially from one user here!

The SAA will achieve further successes! Only tanks and modern bigger AA-systems will be a gamechanger and they won't be delivered. Manpads are no real threat to RuAF, they were before the russian campaign at battlefield and will be in future.

    Go SAA attack go!

It's a pity Putin took Latakia airbase and ends up not using it because Putin don't want to upset Americans by bombing Nusra which is an American asset.
