A good and thorough albeit long analysis of Georgian politics.

The Legal Committee of the Georgian Parliament adopted the draft law on foreign agents in the third reading

In Tbilisi, in front of the parliament building, protests against the adoption of the law have been going on since morning.

Security forces are trying to suppress the protesters using tear gas. Special forces and water cannons were deployed to the scene.

Good for Georgia, a good step forward in dealing with corruption... still a long way to go I suspect, but a good step anyway.

Regardless of Georgia's Government basically saying to the EU, by not meeting their representatives, that they were a sovereign country so piss off, the EU can't let go.

All the same patterns that resulted in Ukraine's Maidan are being repeated in Georgia. Just one big fake astroturfed revolution, run by Western regime-change NGOs at the behest of their governments.

If Nuland was running this one the snipers would have already been deployed. Murder a "heavenly hundred angels" then blame it on the ruling govt

One hundred was the magic number specified by the Nuland gang, the required threshold of death before the US State Department would rally international condemnation of Yanukovich and work to legitimize his overthrow.

Now its the turn of the US to get the cold shoulder.

The founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, refused to meet with US Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien, who will arrive in Tbilisi on Tuesday, May 14.

The Georgian Government blames western NGOs for organising the protests in the country

A democracy should never be afraid of the truth, and a free and open democracy relies on a news media that is only interested in finding the truth and exposing corruption and lies.

The west trained their media by controlling the information flow.... publish what we say or you can't come to our meetings and we will cut you off from all information.

An EU official going to a Sovereign country to tell them not to introduce a law that would expose foreign countries spending money to undermine their democracy... openness and transparency my arse.

Label it Russian or Putins and you can ban common sense it seems... the west are stupid.... good for Georgia for using common sense... is this a realisation that a lot of the hostility towards Russia is just Georgia banging its head against the wall when good relations would lead to probably having a much better future.

Russia is not moving and Georgia is not moving... you would think those facts would make it obvious they should learn to get along... or at least not try to start fights and violence because one side has most of the power and friends thousands of kms away are no help much of the time when things kick off as Georgia found out.
