Future russian aircraft carriers. #1

It is info from a while ago, and i believed we discussed this timeline already but Some extra info:

Looks like some wishful thinking... Russia doesn't have the time, resources, and money to build a carrier, at least for now.

Actually they're in the design stages of a new mega-carrier, and developing a electro-magnetic catapult for it.

I don't doubt that they are, but chances are it won't even begin the be built by ~2020 (~2025 would be a good guess).

Yes your right, it won't be in service until mid-2020's.

- That isn't a bad thing. I'd rather have Russia focus on nuclear subs, and subs in general, than a carrier of the future. Carriers are simply too large nowadays, I'm amazed the US still builds them... (Size = cost, increased maintenance, more resources and manpower etc. They are also very large targets!)

I think the plan for the carrier will come with the next state armaments program.

I think "The Kremlin" is a Nice name!

Ok, so lets say Russia builds 4 carriers, 2 for the northern and 2 for the pacific fleet:
1) The Kremlin
2) The Soviet Union
3) Peter the Great
4) The Khrushchev

Hmmm... to bad Gorshkov name was already taken.
