Edit: Can't get much from the reflection of the aircraft on water maybe some of you will but to me it looks something like a MIG 35, some said it's the LMFS or a "An airplane based on the new physical principles" that's been talked about, idk if it's VTOL like some Russian friends told me but the intrigue is definitely there, also interesting to see the potential buyers Rostec has listed in the video

Is it confirmed a combat aircraft? From the pilots in the video indeed looks like it is, the reference to UAE is promising given the MoU that they signed for the development of a light fighter... interesting indeed. The shadow on the water looks like a MiG-35 to me.
We will see, I hope that we are not disappointed with some dull announcement after all the hype...

Go in the other thread. It's a single engine from Sukhoi and it seems to be for export.

Mig again lost a program they could have made like 20 years ago. This thing will take over mig-29M on the export market leaving mig-35 with no customer.

They got nobody but themselves to blame
They were sitting on their asses for 30 years and now Sukhoi is taking their lunch money

That's as single engine as it gets and front fits that partial model we saw in previous photos
Looks like I-30 is going places

In fact it looks very similar to McDonnell-Douglas' entry for JSF, at least the plant view. Does it have anything to do with the real thing? ...we will see

It's from MiG
Competitor F-35: what will be the first Russian single-engine fighter
"Fundamentally new" combat aircraft of Russia is being created on the basis of the MiG concern
Rostec announced the premiere of a "fundamentally new" combat aircraft, which will be presented on the first day of the MAKS-2021 air show. As Gazeta.Ru found out, this aircraft will become the first single-engine fighter, and its development is being carried out on the basis of the MiG aircraft concern. Experts believe that the export potential of the newest fighter can be compared with the American best-seller F-35.
The new aircraft will be made by the MiG aviation concern on the basis of one of its developments, a source in the military-industrial complex told Gazeta.Ru.
“It will be a light multipurpose aircraft capable of operating against both air and ground targets. Its single-engine layout will be its principal feature, ”the source said.
But, as the source notes, "now the reliability of engines allows you to create single-engine machines - they require less fuel consumption and are more economical with the same weight and size characteristics."
At the same time, the aircraft will have a developed control system based on artificial intelligence, which will allow the pilot to minimize his participation in piloting. "Unmanned technologies of behavior in space will be actively used, so that in the event of, for example, a pilot's injury or loss of consciousness, the aircraft will continue its flight and will be able to safely return to the departure airport," the representative of the defense industry explained.
The UAC told Gazeta.Ru that they do not exclude joint production of the new aircraft with other countries. “We have already had experience in organizing joint production of aircraft in India, and here this model may well be used for sale abroad. But it’s too early to talk about it, ”said one of the top managers of the UAC on condition of anonymity

So was Su-30 but that didn't stop VKS from buying them in bulk
As for MiG it was probably decided to slap their name on final product to save face of a failed brand, internals will be pretty much transplanted from Su-57 and wrapped in new fuselage

The question is whether they will present a mock-up or a flying prototype. If a prototype, it would be a big surprise.

The silhouette looks like that of a MiG-35.
The aforementioned countries, such as India, Vietnam, Dubai, Argentina ... are potential clients of the MiG-35.
The MiG-35 is still an aircraft in the development phase, it is not even in service yet in the RuAF, it can be the presentation in society for potential export clients.
In fact, the RuAF should now make a contract to equip the squadron "Swifts" and replace the MiG-29
I do not see at short term another possibility , the VTOL fighter seems to be still a long way off, especially if the Russian helicopter carriers do not seem to have it on board
The MAKS is basically a trade fair to offer products and win contracts and it seems the right moment to introduce the MiG-35 to the market.
But hey, maybe in a few days we get a surprise and I have to eat my words
Arrow wrote:The question is whether they will present a mock-up or a flying prototype. If a prototype, it would be a big surprise.
good, but the fact is that anybody can make models in their garage.
A real airplane that flies I see it difficult, among other things there will already be photos.
This is a trade show, what is brought in for customers are finished products.
Models are seen many and their value is close to zero

Yes, I know why if it is a flying prototype it will be a sensation. Models are also presented at MAKS and the model means nothing.

It will be anticlimactic and embarrassment to present the MiG-35 which has been through development for nearly 2 decades to be presented as the fundamentally new suprise aircraft.

New Russian fighter to compete with US F-35 aircraft, says expert, 13.07.2021
According to the data available, the plane features low radar signatures in various bands, a high thrust to weight ratio, a large weapon payload, and advanced air-launched armaments.
MOSCOW, July 13. /TASS/. The latest combat plane that Russia will unveil on the first day of the MAKS-2021 aerospace show will rival the US fifth-generation F-35 aircraft, Executive Director of Aviaport Aviation News Agency Oleg Panteleyev said on Tuesday.
"The teasers in English and the regions that the pilots presented in a video released by Rostec [state tech corporation] suggest that the domestic light fighter will be in competition with the US F-35 aircraft on foreign markets. I am certain that the fighter’s demonstration at the MAKS-2021 will create a wow effect. It is not accidental that [Russia’s state arms exporter] Rosoboronexport has invited over 120 delegations from 65 countries of the world to the aerospace show," he said.
Little is known about the plane’s performance characteristics so far, the expert pointed out. According to the data available, the latest fighter features low radar signatures in various bands, a high thrust to weight ratio, a large weapon payload and advanced air-launched armaments, the expert pointed out.
"There is no doubt that in this decade Russia will be able to restore the tandem of breakthrough aircraft platforms: the heavy Su-57 [fifth-generation fighter] and a new light plane designed to cope with tactical assignments," the expert said.
The Rostec press office announced earlier on Tuesday that Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) would feature a fundamentally new military plane on the first day of the MAKS-2021 international aerospace show in the town of Zhukovsky near Moscow. The project's official website was also unveiled, with a midnight countdown to the plane's July 20 premiere.
As a source in the domestic aircraft-building industry told TASS in the spring of this year, the Sukhoi Aircraft Company (part of the United Aircraft Corporation) is developing the first Russian single-engine light tactical fighter with supersonic speed capability and low radar signature.

Mig 1.44 was better than mig-35 back in the 90s already.
They develop mig-35 because of lack of money. It's just a mig-29M developed in the 80s on steroids.
If they had the money given to sukhoi for su-57 they would have had a totaly new aircraft today.
