Also, I do hope that Russia isn't planning on taking any ukrop artillery crews prisoner
Although Russian Military has been known to be flat out retarded, hopefully LDNR guys know better, it's their people getting shredded right now
No pussyfooting
Seps have death penalty but usually POWs are treated pretty well by them.
How do I know this? Well, separatists themselves say that they sometimes capture same Ukrainians twice or three times and they always promise not to pick up weapon and fight for Ukraine until they are released.
Who knows what happens in field, but the chances are that they will be treated no worse than a civilian suspect in a police station.

Easy solution...
...every POW has to promise it on video footage with full FIO (Family Imia Otchestvo) to not take ever up arms and not to be active part of VSU,... if...they are captured again then he is locked for POW exchange and put into reconstruction battalion for the next 10 years. No, special POW rights, no exchanges, no deals, nothing but a shovel, three meals a day and up to work.
If they have to low performance in reconstruction work then final station in Black Dolphin. Russia is indeed pussyfooting around and giving excuses with no consequences. This behavior just begs for enemies to test your limits to the extreme.
Fight or Die Reconstruction Bat or Black Dolphin... Three options is more than any Russian would ever had in their entire life if the West would succeed in their plans of Lebensraum 2.0!

Ukro prisoners that are captured more than once after an oath not to pick up arms again should be sacrificed to Cthulhu on the shores of the Azov Sea. Altar, long robbed cultists and all.
Artillery crews taken prisoner should have the book thrown at them and be investigated for involvement in war crimes. The slightest hint that they shot deliberately at civilian infrastructure and off to Siberia to pickaxe ore for a living.. for quite a long living actually
Everyone else taken prisoner should be treated indeed, like someone taken into the precinct. Arrested, put in a cell, bedding/water/food, pending investigation or release or exchange.

I wish Russia one day would just drop a sh*t ton of bombs on Ukraine's parliament and Presidential building and other government buildings. Just blow them all to smithereens. I wish...

Maybe the cannon fodder led to their doom will eventually turn on their masters after suffering huge casualties. Especially if Russia doesn't seem like the great enemy its made out to be
Well it happened in 1917. Can happen in the Ukraine.

That's a possibility. If they get destroyed and humiliated in the Donbass, public opinion could turn. We'll see.
Bombing buildings or some useless puppets in Kiev would solve nothing. Keep bombing the NATO guys that shoot at civilians!
By the way there is a little change in attitude to these crimes happening. Outrage is still there but not most people state that it is a "good" sign. The Russian Army is moving forward, crushing the Nazis and the only way they can retaliate is by shelling civilian areas. NATO is desperate. In a few days the defensive lines will be breached and then the Nazis will run for their lifes.

This is all then can stage for a long time, to be honest. No documentary about crucial military targets hit&destroyed. There are fewer and fewer of any military-grade target hits, to be honest. An attack on the Antonovsky bridge proved to be another failure, but not sure if you really follow the consequences. This used to be a strategic target, one of the last transport corridors via Dnepr. A whole "Cherson counteroffensive" was hanging on the need to crush it, and block the Russian forces at the other side of a river. The bridge was targeted by HIMARS at a peak of "himars hype", to get both the objective and propaganda victory, the same time. It failed. The construction proved to be too solid and robust to be destroyed by a tactical lever MLRS system, no matter how much propaganda one has applied to it. Even if they can hit it - what is a gain in real, as the Russkie AD intercepts most of the incoming, the result is miserable. What is the most interesting part of the story is not that the NATO advisers had no bloody idea how strong this thing was build, but that the Ukro decision centers seem to lose that knowledge either. There is nothing another left than staging Twitter Warriors materials.

Bombing both is a also a way to go. Kill the general staff and the ants are running left and right on the front totally lost.
Defensive lines can be breached in matter of hours with su-24/34 launching 1000 of fab-500 in one night operation. This doesn't seem to be what they want. A fixed war is better for them as the ukrainians keep sending soldier there where russians enhoy total advantage.
If russians quickly push 300km inside ukrainian territories they will loose as much as during the first week push if not more.
Pushing inside defensive line deep into enemy territory comes huge losses for the attacker. Specially in modern wars where atgms, snipers, modern mines and drones can strike at safe distance.
The first push was needed. Another one right now not so much.

According to LostArmour, Russian losses in July were lowest since start of the war. Don't change anything and keep pounding.

DNR forces a while back announced that no Ukie artillery crews would be taken prisoner. Simpler and cheaper that way.
