whole royal family afloat in a background of social and moral decay. I do not think Charles will be a replacement.
RIP

On a more personal note: My mother and the queen was born in the same year and they both passed in the same year. RIP

Re: Queen Elizabeth II has died
I do not have a good opinion of her, and the British royal family had a big hand in the destruction of italian public assets in the '90s.
Anyway her replacement has the carisma of a dead fish and does not seem particularly bright either.
Considering that the new British government is basically made only to respect a quota (basically every possible person who is not a white man), independently by competence, maybe it is the good time for the end of the United Kingdom.
It would be funny to hear the russophobic Charles as king of (little) England complain because Scotland and Wales are getting armed by China and Russia.
Now i just have have to hope in the dissolution of France as well. That way the main enemies of Italy (posing as friends) for the last several centuries would be done once and for all.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II has died
Just found out about it in this thread
Funny thing was, I came across a photo of her earlier tonight while reading a British WW2-time cookbook I have, and the thought came to me about how long she's been ruling and how long she has left. Well there's the answer.

I don't want to pronounce the Royal Family over with prematurely. But yes she did fulfill the role of the wise elder who kept it all together.
Now there is Prince Charles, and Prince Andrew.. enough said.
Prince Harry has gone rogue and betrayed the family.
It's all dysfunctional. Add to the public discussions around all these scandals, and Scotland keeps wanting to break off, etc..

Looks like her son is about to finally enter the labor market for the first time at the young age of 73
But seriously skip Charles and give job to junior, at least he knows how to fly a helicopter

Re: Queen Elizabeth II has died
Always felt a bit sorry for Charlie... claims he as unfaithful are used to demonise him, but claims of his wife screwing around are completely ignored and even justified by some that she was married to him.
The Queen was a unifying presence and stability, but didn't really do very much... she did not get in to politics which I think is why she lasted so long... if Charlie wants to get political then he might seal the fate of the entire system...
When I heard, two things popped in to my head... first is that the western media are going to give Gorbys death and the Ukraine war a rest for a week or two... more if there are some issues with Charlie, and the second thing is... was coming face to face with Britains new PM what pushed her over the edge?

So what? Prince Andrew could fly a fighter jet. Didn´t help him to become a lovely person.PapaDragon wrote:

That it's really just a ceremonial position at this stage.
Sounds like sage advice. With the Queen's authority gone especially, and his own dubious one.
So he better just sit there contently, posing for those new 10 pound notes if needed but otherwise keeping out of trouble.

Prince Andrew knew which way to fly to Epstein's private island, that has to count for something right?

Re: Queen Elizabeth II has died
I would think Charlie might be good for 10-15 years or so and then some young blood perhaps, but the current batch look very green.
There is a lot of hostility towards Charly over what happened with Di, and so I would think if he is not careful a few British commonwealth countries might consider becoming republics (like the US did).

Otherwise he might get in an untimely car accident. The Americans are in charge now. And if the royals don't shill for everything that the US wants , they will be taken out.
