Soviet tanks coming through the "Fulda gap" were giving NATzO nightmares even during the 1980s. So the story that the USSR built
too much crap hardware sounds like historical revisionism to me. If you think that is unlikely, then consider the brazen attempt by
NATzO to equate the Soviets to the Nazis and shift the blame for WWII onto the USSR. All sorts of statelets in Europe that were
eager allies of the Nazis from before 1939 and extending all the way to now (hence all those SS parades and glorification of Nazi
butchers) are busy claiming that they "fought against the Nazis". When such yap comes from countries like Croatia, you can be
certain that demented revisionism is all the rage.
