Re: Indian Space Programme
A section of the Indian media is reporting that India has purchased a long range space based surveillance radar from Russia. However, they haven't mentioned which one.

Re: Indian Space Programme
Well done India! Your space agency had been mocked in the past. Now your space agency is an epicenter of shuttling satellites into orbit. Not just that, you guys have satellites orbiting other planets as well as probes landing on them. Next step is human space travel. What are you guys going to call your space travelers? Astronauts?

Re: Indian Space Programme
It is funny but before Gagarin left the earths atmosphere the common word for a space traveller was Cosmonaut... Cosmos = Space and naut = traveller or more precisely sailor... space traveller or space sailor.
But the Americans had to be different so they decided their space travellers were headed for the stars so Astron = star or constellation, and naut = traveller or sailor... star traveller.
Chinese space travellers are called Taikonauts.
