Looking back, do you think a large part of the euromaidan masses would've been discouraged if the then government actively propogated on all channels figures of the economic losses if the the EU assiciation agreement would've been signed, as well as presented which maidan parties and media outlets were recieveing foreign money, as well as EU association=/= EU membership? On one hand being mostly from Galicia they would've been largely too brainwashed, but I still believe a large part of the croud with at least some critical thinking skills would've left. Most nonbrainwashed working ukrainians and galicians are finally now realizing and support for the junta is at an all time low. Unfortunately this new found dissent was too little too late with death squad reppressions and assasinations already in place gauranteed by the plausible deniability of the western MSM.
If the Maidan protests had dispersed, the west would predictably have cried blood and murder about "brutal dictatorship by putin's lackey" and "surpression of democracy" and probably slapped a few sanctions on Yanukovich's Ukraine, but since trade with Russia, not the EU was a major source of revenue and together with perhaps rapid transition into the customs union, ukraines economic wellbeing would've been ensured.
I think russia should've funded massive counterprotests and and counter outlets to the maidan BS propaganda, but I'm looking too much into the past...
But this woul've been largely impossible since all the Ukrop MSM was neoliberal, nazi, or bought and paid for by prowest oligarchs, as well as new maidan stations like Gromadske TV. Am I wrong? Were there any major ukrop TV stations just before the coup that were still neutral or pro-Yanukovich?
