Migrant from MP.net

Alright lads, Im a migrant from the soon to be dead mp.net

Was a member there since March 2003, sad to see that site go since it was truly an amazing place to connect with people.

At first I didnt want to register here, since I was warned about some of the topics raised here, but after seeing so many old mp.net members already here, such as GazB - special hello to you mate, sphernox, HRH, Wilhelm, the Armenian etc....too many good names to mention, and the fact that a lot more are migrating over here from mp.net, I hope this forum will become a new home for me/us.

My name on mp.net was Danila, but since this name is taken here, I have to go by a new one, DanilaMP - MP standing for mp.net, as a memory to those who will remember me, and not for Military Police for those who dont know me so to say.

Anyway, thank you for having me, and yet again, Hello folks!

Nice to have you here....

This is a Russia safe forum... Not to say Russia is perfect, but it is not a dirty word here tolerated for nice pics like it was on MP.net.

Certainly a few more people with knowledge and genuine interests in Russian military equipment would improve things here...

Im bad on equipment compared to many stars such as artjomh or metberkut on mp.net, my knowledge is basic at best. But I will happily provide some insights in to Nordic politics, and just average politics banter, since that is my interests and what I got a degree in.

Well, since I can easily call my self "Russian", I wont be cursing the country or its citizens, but I will challenge some so called fanboys on their Russia love, since being a realist, I see things and say things as they are, but are always happy to be convinced otherwise, or at least entertain another man's thoughts. Happy to be here, and glad to see that the mods here are decent, especially since I remember you GazB from mp.net, you were one of my favourite posters there.

I hope that great posters such as, the two mentioned earlier, as well as DasVivo, RomanS, Flanker7, IDF_Tanker, Vorph, bd_popeye and many others will migrate over here, their posts are always a pleasure to read.

LOL, you're dreaming if you want to get IDF_Tanker over here; this forum has had more than its fair share of holocaust-denial posts and Israel is regularly used as a punching bag for the world's wrongs. Hell I'm finding myself defending it more often than not, whereas on mp.net I'd be more likely to be among its critics.

RomanS I think would prefer a large audience, and he's got used to the 'war on terror', republican-orientated core of the mp.net crowd anyhow.

Vorph - sure why not.

DasVivo would get bored or frustrated, there is some quality debate here from time to time but on political issues it often descends to name-calling or conspiracy-theories

Flanker7, bd_popeye - didn't really know them that well.

I guess artjomh and metberkut would feel right at home in the Naval and Air Force sections respectively.

Thats funny FP, since we are back where me and you stood at on mp.net, always disagreeing. I think everybody would find a home here, as long as everyone contributes a bit like they did on mp.net and expand this rd.net universe. And to be honest, one of the reasons why I hesitated joining up, WAS the fact that I dont look kindly on anti-Semitism, or any other race/religion inspired hate, I dont mind conspiracy theories, since no theory is worth denying until proven false, but tin-foil-hattery is just a good laugh to read as long as the poster is not breaking his skull against the wall claiming it to be the ultimate truth. I truly hope, more solid posters from mp.net migrate over here.

P.s I have posted here more than I have at the mess, which is, for me at least, a good indication where I will spend most of my time on the net :-)

Just hard getting used to so many sub-sections and how to navigate them more easily, I guess I am too used to mp.net, since it was the only forum I visited on a constant basis. Ill come around thought, I am sure of it.

Tbh, you haven't been contributing to the forum latley either not to mention that majority of posts latley were ridiculed by only one single person we all know here, almost every thread was polluded, but he isn't a contributer to this forum anyway.

It's not just that.

It's the absurd group think among a bunch of non-Russians that feel they have to defend every little thing related to Russia or its government.

As far as I am concerned all the sane posters from MP net should move here. This forum is not a clique of Russia stronkers.
Moderate views are welcome for me and any flakiness that we have here is not a show stopper for discussions.

Perhaps we defend Russia because we are immersed in societies that seem hell bent on demonising Russia and everything related to Russia and her government and we are sick of the double speak... aggressive Russia has some troops in two former autonomous regions of Georgia and Nagorni Karabach, while peace loving Merica has troops in more than half the countries in the world... whether the locals want them there or not. But that isn't disturbing... Merica is the exception right?

It is the US that can't be criticised... justified or not...

I was afraid just as you that many of mp.netters will scatter with the four winds, but I think rd.net and the mess will reunite many of us. I will post on the mess for the diversity of the posters, since the assumption that I have of this place being a stronghold of the stronkness, which already has been somewhat shown by certain poster's, I think rd.net will become even greater than it is at the moment if a good group of people from mp.net migrate, as to give this forum some diversity. As it can be hard to argue against a bucnh of stronkies, like trying to break a wall by throwing pebbles.
