I always felt Kazakhstan should have kept it's equipment list to Chinese and Russian. It covers all it's needs and both countries on its doorstep and no red tape like the west. They don't really have any major threats so they could have easily gotten away with soviet upgrades, Chinese and Russian equipment and the Su-30 are more then enough for their needs even mig-29M but due to the size of the country the Su-30 makes more sense. But it seems Kazakhstan is slowly selling it's soul to the west

How long before Kazkhs are threatened with sanctions for the A400M? (probably already have been )

It would be ironic for the west to impose sanctions on the A-400M because it is such an expensive dog of an aircraft they were doing the west a solid favour by buying the piece of crap in the first place.

The Chinese make quite a few superior transports and if they were clever they could probably get production of the Il-476 set up in Kazakhstan to boost production of that aircraft.

Kazakhstan is a sovereign country and if they want to give in to western lies and bribes, well they wouldn't be the first nor the last country to do so... I would think the consequences are so obvious that no one would be that stupid, but fools are born every second.

I think he meant sanctions by China or Russia.
The A400M is still a lot better performer than the C-130J & is cheaper to buy & operate than the Il-476/C-17, so for a developing nations like K. it is a good choice.

    Is it a lot cheaper?

AFAIK the engines are not that great and are not very reliable and its operational costs are awful, as you would expect for a western type where everything is covered in red tape and has to be done by highly paid western professionals that are certified by the makers to do the work...

If there were any Il-476s available for purchase it would be a much better deal... faster and better payload much better range, and cheaper to buy and to operate.

No risk of sanctions from Russia... it is the west that imposes sanctions on their own customers... not Russia or China.

The original comment was "How long before Kazkhs are threatened with sanctions for the A400M? (probably already have been ) ".

I read that to mean that if the Kazakhs have bought A400Ms then how long before the west starts to sanction parts and support to Kazakhstan to try to force them to stop buying Chinese and Russian weapons and equipment to force them to start buying all western stuff.

When was the last time Russia imposed sanctions on a country for buying European or US stuff?

That would be so dumb only western countries would be arrogant enough to even try.

Ironically the shit equipment and weapons and systems the west sells they should be grateful for every sale they get.

A-400M seems to be a covered failure. Some countries are trying to get rid of it in some weired ways.

This a copy of Russo-ukrainian antonov an-70. Same as any copy they tried to improve it during development which brings hidden issues.

The Kazak problem will need to be solved sooner or later. It was another gigantic **** up courtesy of the two turds - Yeltsin and Gobshitechev.
And it needs to be solved LONG BEFORE Uncle Satan turns it into a "Ukraine Mk2".

N Kaz overwhelmingly belongs to Russia. The rest is hardly has even the remotest claim to genuine statehood.
In 1989 Kazaks were less than 40 pct of the republic. With Russians alone being over 40pct.
Kazakstan didnt even want to leave the USSR. Now Russians have been pressured to leave. And horse knob polishers often under the direction of Uncle Satan are trying to cause mischief.

The sad part is, that far closer ties with N Kaz rejoining Russia, would be extremely beneficial to Kazakstan as a whole. But instead, criminals with power are working with American lowlives hell bent on creating an enemy of Russia.

I think if they were actually trying to copy the An-70 it might have been a better aircraft.

The A400M is more of a scaled up C-130 and they just didn't get it right.

sure, if K. joins Turkey in keeping both NATO & RF at arms length, but in the foreseeble future it will be like India, Mongolia & Thailand who play big heavyweights off each other.

The whole world is watching the west and realising what a paper tiger it is, and many are looking to join BRICS to avoid dealing with the west any more.

The West chews up countries and spits them out... just look at the US and EU and UK complaining at all the Russian oil and gas that India is buying.... well who the Fk are India selling it to? And the US continues to buy Russian uranium fuel and other things when they need them.... they just don't talk about it a lot.

If they strech it, the A400M with bigger volume will be even more attractive as it can carry more fuel/cargo & be comparable with the Il-76/78, & 2 of them can be still kept for le$$ than 1 C-17.

I would have thought Kazakhstan would have talked to the Russians about making Il-476s in their country to boost production, but instead... they try to buy favour with the EU... not understanding that buying F-16s didn't protect Turkey or Venezuela from the anger of the west on various issues... when each country did something the US didn't approve of they were cut off.... and hung out to dry.

The west are your worst ex wife... and not even the hot one.

The sad part is, that far closer ties with N Kaz rejoining Russia, would be extremely beneficial to Kazakstan as a whole. But instead, criminals with power are working with American lowlives hell bent on creating an enemy of Russia.

On the positive side the US is self destructing and the quicker they do that the better it will be for the rest of the world.

Trump has mentioned dropping sanctions to save the US dollar as the currency of international trade, but that would include dropping of SWIFT bans on Russia etc... which I think would be a bad thing for BRICS and Russia because they will be lazy and just get under the US thumb again.
