Out of curiosity, has Iran ever gone forward to seek JV with either Russia or China for aircraft production? I know Iran is interested and may have approved through Russia to manufacture (or at least assemble) Tu-204SM jet liners. What about military aircraft? It may be beneficial for Iran to be able to at least manufacture or assemble J-10's or J-11's or JF-17's to get the knowhow as well as maybe even get localized production.

I realize how Iran changed during this last decade. The great challenge now for Iran is to build a good fighter, with indegenous engine. I know it is hard, however, I am sure Iran can.
If you have informations please let us know.
well.... that's first step
from farsnews:
The Iranian commander referred to the country’s plans to build new fighter jets, and said, “Other projects are also underway by the Defense Industries to manufacture more fighter jets, one of which is Kowsar training jet.”
two snap shots of kosar from irinn:

kosar 88 is mainly based on Iranian build F5-A SIMORGH

http://gallery.military.ir/albums/userpics/1511051.jpg
and their goal is to upgrade kosar to close air support jet
Thx ShahryarHedayatiSHBA
Just a question please. I was suprised by iranian availlabilty to build the HESA Saeqeh. It looks like F-18. Question :
Are its motor engines indigenous ? Or just existing engines in stock, belonging to F-5 that were adapted to the HESA Saeqeh ?
i forget some fact about kosar
yes......., it based on the experience of simorgh project
but it shape and structure is like frogfoot and it's sub sonic
Small model of kossar :
kossar and saeghe:
and about saeghe :
all components of saeghe are indigenous
except Turbine blade .... maybe Iran did acquired them from china
Iran can build Turbine blade for gas generators but they are multi-crystalline
and they are not suitable in super sonic engine
also we have in the news that the MAPNA Successfully test Small-scale production of Single crystalline blade
it takes time for mass productions
www.mapnagroup.com
http://www.mapnagroup.com/files/2014/04/blade.pdf
meanwhile they want to upgrade the saeghe project as a capable two-seat strike fighter:
and we have various armament for it
but about air superiority.......
well .... our air defense is mainly rely on SAM's
and we don't have any project about indigenous air superiority fighter in near Future

Fantastic photos!
Sorry if my last question may have been odd, but I am just curious.
Anyway, looking forward to what Iran produces. The HESA Saeqeh is a fantastic looking aircraft and hope to see it flying en mass.

you know Iran is under sanction . and no country can cooperate with Iran in building aircraft
Iran also banned from buying fighter jets
some years ago we had joint fighter project with Russia . but after sanctions Russia Left us alone

Iran may get their sanctions lifted soon... At least I hope so!
Russia could transfer information and maybe the design for a new jet, and Iran could be the producer. This tech transfers can be easily hidden, so there is a chance that no one would catch Russia (or any other country for that matter).
The Shafagh looks great, nice pictures!

If the west wants Russia to follow their rules they need to treat it better.
Until they do, Russia should do what it likes when it likes.
Sell planes and plane designs to Iran.

So why they are waiting for the bans to be lifted ?
this was a very bad sign for countries who may have been considering joining the russian side.
PS: the syrian event corrected some these negatif points

They don't have to wait, and I guess they shouldn't, but the tyrannical West seems to be *somewhat* lightning up to them.

Russia pooped the bed regarding relations with Iran in the past. When Iran needed Russia, Russia kinda ignored them with fleeing the s-300 and aircraft deal, but Russia had ther hands tied regarding sanctions on Iran. Now Russia has sanctions on them and now trade is increasing between Russia and Iran (upcoming $70B trade according to PressTV).
In this case, Russia should just sell Iran what it needs amd work with them in various fields. I know both sodes were trying to compromise deal on the S-300P for S-300VM but who knows what is happening with that?
