Long story short, our firm needs to send three to four systems engineer to Russia to work with a local engineering company for 5 - 6 months.The thing is 1 of our engineer is Black. I haven't traveled to Russia since 2011 so not sure where things stand today with relation to race.

If any of you guys live in Moscow, St Pete or Volvograd can you let me know if it would be safe to send an African American to Russia?

Russian Nazism is different to the kraut nazis of WW2. Instead of expanding lebensraum all Russian nazis want is to be masters of their own country. They are symptom of some underlying problems, like lack of identity and purpose. Massive immigration to Russia doesn't help either. Nazism is way less popular now and people usually grow out of it.

I suspect most just like the uniforms and haircuts and leather shorts...

I personally feel that Russian cities are safer than US ones. But am not sure what a person of color feels about Russia coz they are the ones who are mostly attacked in Russia.

However, unlike the US that has a large porous border with Mexico, Russia does not have a border with Tajikistan or Uzbekistan. Ergo, the Kremlin can easily stop these migrants from coming in.

well yes but in generally in russia is a old look of things. new fashion like hip hop is not liked by many people. especially conservative people who thinks in the old way of communism aka "order and discipline" see hip hop like a anarchy movement or something. but is no problem. me either i dont like all parts of hip hop

In my experience dark skin people are more susceptible to racist attacks in Russia and other parts of eastern europe. In fact the situation in places like Slovenia, Poland and Hungary is even worse.
