Very sad and disappointing. If I was a Syrian diplomat or anything of such, I would call the talks as BS and simply nothing else and not recognize any decision from any party there. Syria has a say in their own country and the future of their own country, no one else.

On the bright side, how many waiters can say that they went down in history books?

All sides that took part in Vienna talks agreed that Syria should remain a secular state, no matter Assad stays or not.

3 Rayan Roshd RU-60G & 1 RU-90/120G thermal sights captured by Nusra south of Aleppo. Most likely were used by Hezbollah, since they were spotted using them some time ago, also it has been delivered to Iraqi Security forces in certain quantities too.
"The RU60G is produced in Iran by the privately operated company Rayan Roshd. This is rare in a country where most defense industries are direct subsidiaries of the Ministry of Defense. They specialize in electro-optical systems, producing remote weapon stations, missile seekers, and both handheld & airborne imagers. Despite being privately operated, Rayan Roshd is connected to other state industries and the military itself. They have provided surveillance payloads to Iran’s larger aerospace companies and individual weapon sights to the IRGC. One of their products, the ARIO-H762 remote weapon station (RWS), has even been licensed to Sudan."

Or that, but i think its less likely, this despite being quite cheap product holds some very interesting technologies which i doubt US would share just like that where it can easily end up in wrong hands. I just dont see US giving something like this to anyone except Israel in that region.

Huge report from Cassad and lots of maps. Could someone give us a summary please? I spent last year learning geography of Ukraine (with limited success) and now I have to start with Syria from scratch...

Off topic to this, but have you found any data on Russia's Orion 100% made thermal matrix? All I know is based upon the Rostec news post about Agat thermal sight for tanks.Militarov wrote:sepheronx wrote:Who makes that matrix for those Rasad Rayan thermal imagers?

All that is just Public Relations talk.. what matters is not what they say in front of cameras
.but what they do in real practice. Only sanctions from European Union to Turkey and Saudi
arabia and if possible to include also ISrael for their support to terrorism will stop the war.
In other words.
Only when there are negative consequences and a very big price to pay for the nations
sponsoring terrorism.. only then,,they will stop the war.. Freeze the Saudi Bank Accounts
they have $700 billions in US banks and you will see how they dance to the tune they are being told to do.. This conflicts in middle east can be stopped by the European Union that is the only
Power that can really pressure the nations creating the violence in the middle east.
As long there is no serious negative economic consequences to the bastard Erdogan in Turkey ,to the crazy netanyahu in Israel, and the Saudi Monkey government nothing will change. Damage their economies and as soon they start losing billions every day.. they will show
they are ready for ending the conflict and withdraw their terrorist from the fight.

Re: Syrian Civil War: News #3
Saudi Arabia does not want a Salafi state in Syria. For KSA the best Syria would be a nationalist state ruled by a combination of secular law and a watered-down version of Sharia - something like a bigger copy of Jordan.
Contrary to what most of this form thinks, Saudi Arabia is not that hell bent on creating Wahhabi states everywhere. Surely they do support Wahhabi terrorists if it suits their interest but they're willing to work even with secularists - in Egypt KSA supported secular Sisi against islamist Muslim Brotherhood - so thigns aren't that clear.
Well, money can do miracles and as long as Saudis have money, they are going to be protected by everyone.

Re: Syrian Civil War: News #3
Interesting move by the USAF, A-10 plus F-15C strike force.
Officially, the deployment of F-15C Eagle twin-engine fighters to Incirlik, Turkey—which the Pentagon announced late last week—is meant to “ensure the safety” of America’s NATO allies, Laura Seal, a Defense Department spokesperson, told The Daily Beast.
That could mean that the single-seat F-15s and the eight air-to-air missiles they routinely carry will help the Turkish air force patrol Turkey’s border with Syria, intercepting Syrian planes and helicopters that periodically stray into Turkish territory.
But more likely, the F-15s will be escorting attack planes and bombers as they strike ISIS militants in close proximity to Syrian regime forces and the Russian warplanes that, since early October, have bombed ISIS and U.S.-backed rebels fighting the Syrian troops.
Seal declined to discuss the deployment in detail, but hinted at its true purpose. “I didn’t say it wasn’t about Russia,” she said.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
The F-15s the U.S. Air Force is sending to Turkey will be the first American warplanes in the region that are strictly aerial fighters. The other fighters, attack planes and bombers the Pentagon has deployed—including F-22s, F-16s, A-10s and B-1s—carry bombs and air-to-ground missiles and have focused on striking militants on the ground.
In stark contrast, the F-15s only carry air-to-air weaponry, and their pilots train exclusively for shooting down enemy warplanes. It’s worth noting that F-15Cs have never deployed to Afghanistan, nor did they participate in the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq. The war in Syria is different.
The dogfighters are part of a broader escalation of the air war over Syria. In addition to jets in Jordan, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates and Navy and Marine planes aboard aircraft carriers, the U.S. Air Force recently added A-10 attack jets and rescue planes and helicopters at Incirlik in Turkey.
