Of course it also shows that having the best new stuff just isn't good enough... you have to know how to use it and you have to want to use it, and the higher ups need to have properly studied their enemy and use the correct tactics.

I wouldn't write off the Houthis..., it is evidence that a determined group can be dangerous to the best equipped force.
Of course it also shows that having the best new stuff just isn't good enough... you have to know how to use it and you have to want to use it, and the higher ups need to have properly studied their enemy and use the correct tactics.

From an Arab perspective @FlipFlopArmada is lightyears aheard in basic soldiering. There are moments they fuck up too. But mostly very sound small unit system, rough discipline and homefield advantage.
And then you have the @Soudi's, also known as Whorehouse Central. You can basically invade Day and night.

Re: Yemeni Conflict: News #2
"Saudi Arabia intercepted a Scud missile fired towards the kingdom by Iran-backed rebels in Yemen, the Riyadh-led coalition fighting the insurgents said.
The official Saudi SPA news agency said the missile was destroyed by the kingdom’s air defenses at around 2145 (1845 GMT) on Saturday, around 100 kilometers (60 miles) from its border with Yemen. Yemen’s Shiite Huthi rebels meanwhile said in a statement on their sabanews.net website that the missile targeted the Abha Regional Airport in southern Saudi Arabia. The missile “precisely hit its target,” it said. Saturday’s incident is the third time Saudi Arabia says it has shot down a Scud fired from Yemen. On Tuesday, the coalition said that a Saudi Patriot missile had downed a Scud fired from the rebel-held Yemeni capital, Sanaa.
Riyadh has deployed Patriots designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles, which have been fired occasionally since March when the coalition began air strikes in support of the Yemeni government after Huthi rebels seized Sanaa and advanced towards second city Aden. In April last year the Saudi defense ministry said coalition strikes had removed threats to the kingdom’s security “by destroying heavy weaponry and ballistic missiles” seized by the Yemeni rebels. Vehicle-borne Scud ballistic missiles have a much longer range and more powerful warhead than the rockets and mortar bombs which have struck the kingdom’s southern border regions, killing about 90 civilians and soldiers since the coalition intervention began. The United Nations says more than 6,100 people in Yemen have been killed in the conflict since March, about half of them civilians."

The clip didn't show them blowing the vehicle up. They'll probably take the Kord before that, of course.

Each of the patches that look like clouds are possibly the gaseous remains of the exploded warheads of all of the SAMs that have missed.

Source would indicate that this may not be true then, since they claimed 90 civies and soldiers died by such attacks when there has been mentiomed of hundreds of Saudi mercs and even generals getting killed (not hundreds of generals but 4 I believe) from scud and other ground to ground missile strikes into Saudi Arabia. They may have shot down a few but a lot also got through. Average was roughly 2 patriot missiles per scud from the time 9 hit and 3 were interceptes.Militarov wrote:"Saudi Arabia intercepted a Scud missile fired towards the kingdom by Iran-backed rebels in Yemen, the Riyadh-led coalition fighting the insurgents said.

Good job Houtis and Yemeni army. Even mercenaries will not save Saudis from defeat.
The U.S. based Blackwater Group has reportedly abandoned the Ta’iz front in western Yemen after suffering heavy casualties over the last two months while fighting alongside the Saudi-led Coalition forces and the Hadi loyalists.
Local activists have reported this news after they intercepted a communication between Blackwater officers and members of the Saudi-led Coalition in the coastal province of Ta’iz.
In a matter of two months, the Blackwater Group has lost well over 100 casualties at the volatile Ta’iz front, including operatives from a dozen countries around the world.
Most of the Blackwater operatives killed in Yemen were believed to be from Colombia and Argentina; however, there were also casualties from the United States (U.S.), Australia, and France.

Blackwater? They renamed their company years ago. I think it was Xe first, and then Academi.

It's funny, that. They change their name as frequently as ISIS. That is purely coincidental of course!

Well we know about only 2 (if i recall right) missiles that managed to hit their intended targets. One of which was effective beyond expectations. We dont know for sure how many missiles were launched, probably quite more than 2-3.

Well, as was posted by Max regarding 9 hitting targets. We have confirmed 4(?) dead generals. 2 - 3 missiles wouldn't do that unless generals were sitting in one area at once.
Then again, Media will try to hide whatever they can.

Confirmed count is 6 (Ironically it's the same number allegedly Yemen got from Russia in early 2000) with 4 being OTR's and 2 being Scud's (both allegedly intercepted) There are also 3 ASW's used both Chinese.
Also for reference, what a Scud does when it hits.
