MOSCOW, 1 November. /TASS/. The Reinforced Composites Center for High-Strength Materials in the Sergiev Posad District has increased the production of protective equipment for military personnel by 1.5 times, Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov announced on Tuesday.
"The President sets the task of providing our defenders with everything necessary. For the Moscow region, as one of the leaders in the defense industry, this is a priority. Armocom is 30 years old this year, our engineers are constantly looking for new ways to improve the reliability of body armor. New premises were opened in early October, this made it possible to increase the capacity for the production of helmets, bulletproof vests, armored shields. This year it has grown by 1.5 times. All this equipment is now very necessary for our army," Vorobyov said, quoted by the press service of the regional government.
The material notes that the center of high-strength materials "Armokom" is the only supplier in the Russian Federation of combined arms helmets and tank sets of equipment "Ratnik" for crew members of combat vehicles. The enterprise is engaged in the development and production of individual and collective armor protection equipment from modern fiber-composite materials for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, including helmets, bulletproof vests, protective kits for armored vehicle crews, shields, as well as special equipment - assault and diving ladders, cut-resistant gloves.
It is explained that in October a new large workshop was put into operation, it is equipped with industrial sewing machines capable of sewing high-strength fabrics, machines for cold and hot pressing of products.
"The helmet that we make for the army in large quantities, the lightest - 1 kg, holds almost all the fragments that may be on the battlefield. We have information that our helmets have saved the lives of dozens of soldiers who are taking part in the special operation. In this year we made 50 thousand helmets, next year we plan to increase to 80 thousand. Let's take it, since we have new production facilities, we are buying new equipment," said Evgeny Kharchenko, general director of the Armokom central computer, his words are quoted by the press service.
The material explains that in total in the Moscow region there are more than 10 manufacturers of equipment and uniforms for military personnel, they are located in Pushkin, Domodedovo, Krasnogorsk and other districts of the region.
