The SDF needs to be delayed so that their US owners don't get any thing more than they already are. I don't like that Russia is supporting the YPG, obviously they're loyal to US goals, plus I'm not happy they were able to get Syrian land...

YPG are opportunists, they ain't loyal to anyone although at the moment they are under US influence. In fact, Kurds and their allies are the true "moderate opposition" in Syria.
Moreover, Kurds consider Erdogan as sworn enemy. Russia and Syria can use that to their advantages.
BTW, about Erdogan:
https://www.rt.com/news/346567-turkey-syria-border-isis-trenches/
The Turkish military has been ordered to ignore Islamic State’s activities on Turkey’s border with Syria, allowing the jihadists to dig trenches and plant mines unimpeded, locals in the frontier town of Karkamis told RT.

Re: Syrian Civil War: News #8
Sure a tool against Turkey, but that's foolish. The second Turkey shot down the SU-24 Russia should have taken actions militarily. YPG is as anti-Assad as is the "moderate" opposition like FSA. It was apparent when the YPG captured Syrian troops and killed them just recently. YPG is good for now but something tells me Assad is going to have to fight the YPG later when time comes.

FSA and YPG are different. FSA a.k.a human eaters are tools and puppets of Western forces. Meanwhile, YPG cooperate with the U.S. for their own goal and they may turn against the U.S. if situation change. I believe that YPG are cunning enough to not irritate Russia and Syria.
With sufficent wisdom, a long-term pact between SAA-YPG is achieveable.

Rojava’s Peshmerga forces refuse to join Azaz battle to avoid confrontation with fellow Kurdish troops
http://aranews.net/2016/06/rojavas-peshmerga-forces-refuse-to-join-azaz-battle-to-avoid-confrontation-with-fellow-kurdish-troops/
ALEPPO – The Syrian Kurdish Peshmerga forces [also known as Rojava’s Peshmerga] have rejected the request of Anas al-Abda, the president of the Syrian coalition to enter Azaz last week, and to fight ISIS and possibly their fellow Kurds.
In a statement, the Kurdish National Council in Syria (KNC) –political leadership of the Rojava’s Peshmerga– said they will not fight outside of the areas considered to be part of Kurdistan, such as Azaz, after the head of the Syrian National Coalition (SNC) visited the President of Iraqi Kurdistan Masoud Bargain last week.
Majdal Delli, a member of the Kurdish Unity party, one of the parties part of the KNC, told ARA News that the Rojava Peshmerga “have only one aim: to protect the Kurdish areas.”
The Kurdish official said there is no decision yet to join the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)–led by the People’s Protection Units (YPG).
“This is related to the political situation of the Syrian coalition. In the beginning they rejected the Peshmergas to participate in the Geneva talks, and they lost a lot of things on the ground and want to involve the Kurds in their problems,” Kurdish analyst and former official in the Kobane administration Idris Nassan told ARA News.
“They [Syrian opposition’s coalition] want to use the Kurds against each other [Peshermag & YPG], and replace their lost fighters by the Peshmerga forces, but Barzani rejected this,” he said. “If he sends Rojava Peshmerga forces they could be involved with kurdish fighters, and this is not good for his sake and Rojava’s side, and this would result in the loss of any future relations with Rojava,” he said.
According to Nassan, there are some rumours the Syrian Peshmergas trained by the Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces, could join the Syrian Democratic Forces. “In general, we say that the YPG can join the SDF, we have many groups in the SDF,” he told ARA News.
Ibrahim Kurdo, head of the foreign relations in the PYD-led Auto-Administration in northern Syria, said that Abda is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and follows Turkish and Saudi demands. “He wants to pressure our project in Rojava through Peshmerga forces, but will not be successful,” he said.
“They want two military powers to attack each other, as what happened in Lebanon,” he said. “Also in Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani and Talabani forces attacked each other [in the 1990s]. We don’t want to repeat the same experience in Rojava,” he said.
“When the Rojava Peshmergas will come as part of the SDF, we have no problem with that,” Kurdo concluded.
However, Ibrahim Biro, the head of the Kurdish National Council (KNC), rejected joining the SDF. “They have a good relation with the Syrian regime, that’s why we cannot joint them,” he told ARA News.
The Kurdish-led SDF forces have denied any link to the Syrian regime, and in late April they clashed with pro-regime militias for more than two days in Qamishli, taking the regime prison in Alaya and capturing regime positions in the city.
Speaking to ARA News, Bahjat Taymas, a major general in the Kurdish Zerevani Peshmerga forces in Iraqi Kurdistan, said they have trained 3,000 Rojava Peshmerga forces. “They don’t want to fight Kurds, only ISIS,” he said.

It's difficult to speak about South Aleppo. Because as bad as it "looks", the onus of battle is on the "moderates". They are the ones forced to push to have Idlib safe. The other issues regard the fact that Russia has been pushing for a single front for almost a whole year, but the Syrians and Iranians haven't been able to deliver.

The Islamic State has released a new underground propaganda video showing daily skirmishes with Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in Deir Ezzor, as often described in frontline reports by Al-Masdar News. The besieged city of Deir Ezzor represents a defiant government enclave in eastern Syria which holds up thousands of ISIS fighters and dozens of the Islamic State’s armored vehicles – as can be seen below.

Hezbollah is smart, they won't send in too many fighters into battle.

US warns Russia, Assad to respect 'frayed' Syria truce
Beirut (AFP) - US Secretary of State John Kerry warned Russia and the Syrian government on Wednesday to respect a "frayed" ceasefire, as vicious fighting south of second city Aleppo left dozens dead.
The vital northern province of Aleppo has been ravaged on multiple fighting fronts in a devastating war that has killed more than 280,000 people.
The conflict has also drawn in world powers who back opposing sides -- including the United States which broadly supports the opposition and Russia on the side of President Bashar al-Assad.

Re: Syrian Civil War: News #8
Hezbollah returned to southern Aleppo and saved the front from collapsing and recaptured Khalsa and Zaytan. Despite repeated request of air support from Russia, Russia refused air support at the southern Aleppo front and almost cost the Resistance losing the Aleppo highway which would have put millions of people in Aleppo under siege. The Russian air force has been absent in Syria for 4 months now, refusing to engage rebels because there are hundreds of rebel groups and Russia is only allowed to target IS and Nusra which makes it impossible for Russia to attack IS and Nusra because they are embedded with who knows what other rebel groups. Russia should have never offered ceasefire in the first place and continued targeting all rebel groups. The US is full of deceit. Remember how Reagan tricked Gorbachev. Gorbachev disbanded USSR and made Russia surrounded by hostile former USSR republics and expanded NATO right to Russia's border. Russia needs to stop treating the US as a partner and start treating the US as an enemy the way the US treats Russia.

HzB wasn't there en mass, but their side was/is (Iranian, Afghans) getting trashed there.
If they mostly deploy anywhere else other than S. Aleppo then the question is who's going to Aleppo.
For now it seems HzB redeployment went to S. Aleppo
Syrian Army, Hezbollah defending southern Aleppo
The Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah repelled Jabhat Al-Nusra’s (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) large-scale offensive in the southern Aleppo countryside on Tuesday after a back-and-forth battle throughout the day. Initially, Jabhat Al-Nusra, backed by Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Faylaq Al-Sham, seized the village of Zeitan after overrunning the National Defense Forces’ front-lines; however, Hezbollah’s arrival to this front helped drive back the jihadist rebels.

Re: Syrian Civil War: News #8
I can't believe Russia signed a peace deal with the US and adhered by it. I hope Russia understands there is a war in Syria, not peace, and there will never be peace in Syria UNTIL the war is over, not BEFORE the war is over.
Air power in southern Aleppo is entirely provided by IRGC's Shahed 129 planes based at Aleppo airport. Not a single Russian plane to be seen. I thought Syria invited Russia to Syria to fight terrorists. What's with the peace deal with America? Ridiculous. Fine. Russia don't want to fight. Iran will fight. Remember, Iran is fighting for Russia's survival. If Syria falls, who do you think will be next on America's hit list? No, America is NOT Russia's partner, America is Russia's enemy. America has been public about that since the very beginning. Don't know why Russians think Americans like them. Americans don't. And Americans won't unless Russia is broken up like Yugoslavia.
I don't know why Russians try to make friends with everyone. This world is not a place about friendship. This world is about the conqueror and the conquered. You either conquer, or you are conquered. Americans don't have friends. Americans only have slaves and puppets.

Dire? It's basically the same situation than in roughly early december. Before Hizb and Russia took on the moderats. Aleppo's importance is and was blocking the attacks from the NOrth, South Aleppo is going to be shite for long, because the c**** can on and off the Turkish bus.

and today's map by Peto, on how dire the situation is in S. Aleppo:
Dire? It's basically the same situation than in roughly early december. Before Hizb and Russia took on the moderats. Aleppo's importance is and was blocking the attacks from the NOrth, South Aleppo is going to be shite for long, because the c**** can on and off the Turkish bus.
Dire in the sense that they were a few meters outside ICARDA, advancing, and now they've lost Banis, Al Eis and Eis mountain. So back to Hadher.. so that presents a serious setback. If they loose Hadher, they will be in seriously catastrophic trouble. Turkey is pushing them with new men and ammo, sure. But what the fcuk are the Iran-Shia doing there?!! VKS is not providing air support, according to twitter sphere. Apparently the focus is on Raqqa for VKS/SAA.
