Re: What are your favorite movies?
I enjoyed enemy at the gates because for once there was a WWII film that the Americans had no part in and it wasn't about D-day, but there were so many errors in it, the most grating was the scene in Stalingrad when they arrived where one guy got ammo and one a rifle.
Unless the guy was in a penal battallion units were not formed as they arrived into battle.
Actually the biggest problem in Stalingrad was not a shortage of weapons.
Formations were put together and sent across the river fully equipped.
During one period when the Germans gained some ground one unit was sent across without full equipment but they were described as having one man in 10 without a rifle rather than every second man depicted in the movie.
When they arrived on the other river bank in Stalingrad weapons would be piled up with the dead, Soviet and German weapons.
Have read of soldiers fighting in Stalingrad with a weapon at each position and each soldier would move from position to position firing the weapon at any germans he could see.
If they really only had one rifle between two men how on earth could they launch the counter attack with all those fresh forces to encircle the Germans in Stalingrad.
There was a time when there was a severe shortage of weapons in the east when men went into battle and were told to pick up what ever weapon they could find... that was WWI.

Legion is okay-ish. The plot is not really logical...the only thing i liked about this movie were the angels that are uber hot and for once doesnt look like gays with fairy wings :/

Re: What are your favorite movies?
Greetings Tovarich MCS.
Yes, the plot could have been better. Michael won out over Gabriel and the Baby lived. Very shallow ending I think.
The effects made the Angels look real, like you say, instead of effeminate Nancy boys. Lucas Black is a favorite.
I have moved onto
Its Beyond!
Great to talk to you. Aramonik

Re: What are your favorite movies?
I should add I prefer comedies to violent movies, amongst my favs are "Blazing saddles", and for some reason I find some movies easy to watch over and over like "the fifth element", "Terminator 2" and "Big trouble in little China".
I also like the old Clint Eastwood westerns and cop movies like "Hang-em high" and "Dirty Harry". Also love the Monty Python movies like Life of Brian, Meaning of life, etc.
