BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:05 A.M.) – The Syrian and Russian air forces received a big boost in the fight against the Islamic State this year, following the liberation of the Jirah Military Airbase in eastern Aleppo.

According to a military source, the Jirah Airbase is once again operation after more than four years of being out of commission due to its capture by militants.

The Syrian and Russian air forces are using the Jirah Airbase’s helicopter fields to aid the Syrian Arab Army and their allies in the fight against the Islamic State in northeast Hama and southern Al-Raqqa.

With the Jirah Airbase operational again, the Syrian and Russian air forces now have two different working installations in east Aleppo.

I admire your sentiments but there is still a long way to go and many lives yet to be destroyed.

Of course and this articles says it all.

"The CIA and the Pentagon have not Ended Their Support to Islamist/ Wahhabi Terror Groups in Syria."

    http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-cia-and-the-pentagon-have-not-ended-their-support-to-islamist-wahhabi-terror-groups-in-syria/5603428

I can not read now the link due to problems of "traffic" in the source.

Well, I think the loses between the Syrian generals are not normal. I would say they are being tracked specially and their positions given to the ground forces that are killing them, including ISIS.

It is mostly because they are directly at the front.

Hopefully the Jewish cocksuckers in Israel get their asses handed to them.

It is a good question for the US worker in Syria.

    Seig Soloyvov,

who can have been tracking the lots of Syrian generals killed in the war? Is someone giving their positions in the ground to the adversaries of Syria, including ISIS?

Looks like another country is stepping in were Russia fails extremely badly in - negotiating economic development.

Belarus will now take the pies that Russia should have gotten in economic development. Another leaching nation doing nothing to help other than gaining the quick rewards for Russia's blood.

WTF is wrong with Russia's ability in terms of economic negotiating? I know Russia sucks at economics when dealing with third countries, but this is sad.

Read it again before popping a vein. Wishing is not the same thing as getting. And don't forget that RIAN and now Sputnik are infested
with 5th column maggots that spread BS. (For example, RIAN and then Sputnik used the term "pro Kremlin parties" to describe the Russian
opposition as if Navalny and other lunatic fringe nutjobs are the real opposition). Unless Russia actively does nothing, which the article
does not imply, then I don't see Belarus getting much.

There is a general lack of development in the economic side of things between Russia and third parties.  Some stuff here and there but mostly in Energy.  Russia has significantly more to offer than energy.

Anyway, Belarus will get the deal.  Syria will be pushing for any deal with any country willing to take it, because their economy got smashed during this entire conflict.  So don't expect Syria to wait for Russia to drag its feet.

Now the Turks are bitching about how they will retaliate against Russia for its Tomato ban, since Russia placed it because of Turkey shooting down the Su-24.  I figure it would have just been easier to shoot down a Turkish Jet and call it even at that point. All this is examples of Russia's relatively poor soft power projection. China and Belarus will be gaining more than Russia in Syria without spilling any blood, and Turkey will demand more from Russia and probably use Turk Stream as a method to try and strong arm Russia. Oh what will Russia do now....

Calm down dude, Russia already has dibs on most profitable stuff and then some

They don't want to advertise is because it would make them look like self serving neo colonial power instead of selfless Hollywood style good Samaritans

Feel good bullshit doesn't pay the bills or bring back the dead. Fuck whoever complains about the media reports on it. It seems to me, reporting more on China and Belarus jumping into Syria only for gains with no action on their end, is worst than if Russia announced agreements.

But then again, you all think there is some sort of grand chess board regarding all of this. Protip: There isn't. Russia is losing money in this game and when they have a chance to recoup some loss, other assholes are taking it due to Russia's rather inactive stance.

BTW, care to share the lucrative deals Russia got in Syria?

What has made companies from US and Japan very effective and give them a lot of authority, is their investments into other countries.  If lets say Syria is going to be in demand for cars after the war, then obviously the first ones to invest in there will be given priority for automotive purchases because the availability of it.  In this case, UAZ and Avtovaz could actually have a small plant in Syria that is screwdriver assembly and in the end, the companies make a killing because the cars assembled in Syria will still be cheaper for the average person, while the parts made in Russia will be selling.  And add to that, it gives preference by the government because it employs their own people and brings tax money. All in all, it gives the companies back at home more income to invest in further development of new technologies and new cars.

This is why Russia has been eager to build plants in Egypts economic zone. For some reason though, there is a good opportunity in Syria and they are not taking it. Instead, they are taking the bullets. Something just really doesn't smell too good.

Nope, what made them effective is advertising

People in East Europe were dreaming about buying certain car brands long before they even knew what word "investment" means

Same goes for Russian cars, crank up the advertising and start exporting, leave local production for 2nd tier crowd

Check out this hilariously inaccurate "map" of the Syria war - was on Peto's twitter, courtesy of Nimr Tiger. SAA are in blue....

    Syrian War: News #14 - Page 32 DG4MNNaXYAA8R6C

It's a recent "map" as it shows the SAA advance along the southern Jordanian border (Nimr Tiger has marked with an arrow).

Look at the size of ISIS held ar-Raqqa...
The AQ salient still exists from Idlib stretching towards Hama...
The SAA access to Aleppo is STILL shown as a narrow road between AQ and ISIS territory...
ISIS still holds territory East of Khanaser...
The "rebel" pocket between Hama & Homs extends all the way into the ISIS pocket E of Salamiyah?
Qalamoun? by all thats holy, WTF?
So much fucking stupidity in just a single "map".... Laughing

Apparently it's from a Saudi newspaper. If this is the level of utter self-delusion that the goat-raping Wahabbi medievalists inflict on their own people, they have a whole Jupiter-sized World of Pain awaiting them when their protective little safe zone comes a-crashing down...

Except if Russia had simply chosen a Turkish aircraft to shoot it down and actually shot it down Turkey could claim that was an act of aggression against a NATO partner and demand all NATO partners protect it... who knows how that could have played out... bloody stupid in fact if you ask me.

The turks are bitching about the effect the tomato ban Russia has applied to them, which if you read between the lines suggests that that same ban has had a significant effect on domestic production capacity and alternative sources of tomatoes for Russia.

Who is to say that given the choice of turkish tomatoes that the Russians will ever go back to buying them in anything like the numbers they did now that they have greater options for choice...

Sounds to me like a little spat with Turkey had led to Russia becoming more self sufficient and independent.

It was said at the time that the tomato ban would last for quite a while to make it worthwhile for farmers to get payback on the investment needed. Once over expect Russian tomatoes to have a big Russian flag on the packaging.

Another example of the Law of Unintended Consequences for the Turk's action.

SAA have taken Khirbat al miquan.

Tiger forces did an airdrop behind ISIS lines (first time SAA conducted an aerial drop of troops to attack ISis rear lines) they attack Al-kawn.

They are heading down the Raf road.

What is the chance that ISIS or Al Qaeda can cut off the Salamiyah highway? Considering that the SAA units gaurding it are so poorly equipped and corrupt, I think that this is a legitimate concern.

Very low, ISIS cannot spare manpower for that right now and at this point they will never be able to for that objective. Without giving up other areas in return.
