I was wondering if someone could help me find some games where you play as a Russia/Soviet character rather than a US marine or a sci-fi clone of one. Games that let you play Russia are very hard to come by.

I am looking for some good computer games that have a Soviet/Russian narrative or multiplayer games that include a powerfull (preferably overpowered) Russia/Soviet union.

I know most games are aimed at the tipical brainless western kid but there should be atleast a few games where you play the right side.

Oh I am very very (insert another 1000000 "very"s here) hesitant to buy things so please don't get offended by me not liking youre suggestion.

I have both Metro games already so you can leave them of.

I would very mutch apritiate some help

I enjoyed Operation Flashpoint, Red Hammer upgrade, but it still managed to be anti Russian.

Game devs seem to forget one thing repetition is boring and just clone f***ing call of duty because its somehow successful even though it is so super generic.

I am so sick of us marines and all the f****ing generic clone s*** BS and deluded fantasy western propaganda designed to appeal to brainless degenerates (imagine I went on rambling for an hour I am too lazy to type that much).

For once could I just play a Soviet shock troop or Chinese soldier I am so sick of playing marines that being able to play as a damn SS officer would be a welcome change.

Even hollywood makes media that has a Russian narrative what is wrong with the gaming industry do they just assume everyone on the entire planet is an indoctrinated husk incapable of independent thought or are they just coping trends and not for once thinking that something new might be a good idea.

Anyway that's enough ranting for now...

It doesn't have a separate Soviet campaign sadly: when you buy the "Soviet Assault" version/addon what it contains is soviet missions interspersed with the main American ones.

Also, I will say that I found the Soviet missions to be much more fun than the American ones, but perhaps that is just because I like Russia more than America...  russia

Metro is not "Russian" , is actually anti Russian game , by Ukrainian company.. lol1

Russia game industry is so so.. small..
but The best games im aware at the moment done by Russian developers.. that you can play in Russia side.

escape from TARKOV (looks inspired in many ways by the Ukraine conflict today)

you can download the beta already i think..

    free to play under steam..

    World of warships..

basically like world of tanks a multiplayer online game..but with warships of the cold war era.

men at war , by Russian developers.. is an old World war 2 real time strategy,,from soviet perspective.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzISDtcZ72k

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and IL-2 Sturmovik are the most popular games ,but they are old games.

But if you like game that have a Russia theme... and don't bother that Russia is seen as the bad guy.
then incoming METRO 2033 :exodus.. will be a big one ,everyone waiting.

If what you want is to play as Russian Special forces.. as close as possible..
then the French Game ,, Rainbow Six Siege is the best.. this one is really good one.. and very popular..

but also you can play as the special forces of top nations..

Hahahhahhaha... I think he is confusing Metro with Stalker...

Stalker is set in Chernobyl and the military in the game is Ukrainian... and it is developed by a Ukrainian company.

Many of the newer weapons like the Fort pistols are Ukrainian too...

Personally I like Stalker... you get to use Makarovs and AKS-74Us... but too many MP5s for my liking...

You should play the wargame series. Its a cold war RTS superior imo to World in Conflict. It has a Soviet campaign

    have you actually played Metro?

It shows the destruction of total destruction of Russia by a nuclear attack , and made it look that people who supported
the Government , are brainwashed... So it have an anti Russia narrative in the story telling..
The developers also in interviews ... criticize Russia openly in public interviews.. so the game do have a political
critic theme of Russia policies. ..  Albeit is not completely hostile to Russia.. still promote the idea of rebellion to their system.  hence Ukrainians made it ,so is not surprising.  Check also the interviews of Metro developers ,and you will
notice in many of their interviews their political tone against Russia. but nothing that could offend anyone ,
    still you notice this.

Which part am I wrong about?

    Chernobyl is in Russia?

Army troops in Stalker are Russian?

    No Ukrainian weapons in Stalker?

Stalker made by Russian company is it?

Chernobyl is in the Ukraine, Troops in the STALKER game are Ukrainian, Fort pistols and other weapons are Ukrainian, and GSC Game World is a Ukrainian company... look up their website if you are not sure...

    Got the list from here..

    https://www.giantbomb.com/profile/snide/lists/from-russia-with-love-great-games-from-the-eastern/14151/

They mistakenly claimed Stalker was made in Russia .. which was strange for me , because used to believe
it was ukrainian . anyway didn't gave much importance ..and did not double checked with other sources.

anyway he asked to play as a Russian spetnaz ,so games developed in Russia or Ukraine does not answer his question.

The French Game Rainbow Six Siege is the best game to play as Russian Spetnaz..
Escape from Tarkov by Russian studio ,will be another good one..

World war 2 games.. Men Of WAR is made by 1C gaming company in Moscow. . is very old ,graphics old ,
but still is fun. Covers the entire world war 2 ,from the soviet union point of view.. which was the reason i played it..
tired of western propaganda games ,always biased towards NATO..

    Escape from Tarkov
