At this point I have the question for all of you following this conflict. The time will come for rebels to change tactics from acting as a regular army controlling cities, villages, routes transparently into guerilla war - units hidden in the moutains' dens attacking convoys and military bases. As you probably know, in the past there were units of Interior Forces, mostly commanded by Interior Ministry Headquarters, to fight with guerilla groups. In fact they were just infantry units with APCs and light weapons. But is it enough or there should be used army special forces instead?

They'll need a combination of both IMO. SF need support of regular forces in larger operations.

    ...

As for the use of tanks by the Syrians, it varies by unit I think. If you watch clips of the more elite units they perform well and look like they know their business. While some of the regular/reservists type units still make obvious mistakes.

You are obviously right, there are still T-62 tanks in service in Syrian Army and there is something called main attack direction where elite forces are sent to obtain success. Footages I was watching were from Damascus countryside, a very vital area. Older tanks guard more peaceful areas, like Tartus and Latakia for example.
Does anyone have some more information about militias, organized in Syria according to Iranian experience, and supporting the army?

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — A new wave of Europeans is heading to Syria, their ranks soaring in the past six months as tales of easy living and glorious martyrdom draw them to the rebellion against Bashar Assad.

The western Europe-based rebels, mostly young men, are being recruited by new networks that arrange travel and comfortable lodging in the heart of rebel territory, and foster a militant form of Islam that Western security officials fear will add to the terror threat when the fighters return home.

The 11 western European countries with the biggest contingents in Syria are estimated to have some 1,200-1,700 people among rebel forces, according to government and analyst figures compiled by The Associated Press. That compares to estimates of 600-800 from those countries in late spring.

The surge has occurred particularly in France, Germany, Belgium and Sweden. It reflects the increasing ease of travel to Syria's front lines and enthusiastic sales pitches by the first wave of European volunteers.
I hope they'll all die there. Would be helluva good riddance.

A former "gangsta rapper"... Denis Mamadou Gerhard Cuspert aka Abu Malik aka Abu Talha Al-Almani - a German convert to Islam.
Syrian Civil War: News - Page 23 220px-Deso_Dogg_3490_by_foto-di-matti
Syrian Civil War: News - Page 23 Deso-dogg1
Following a near death experience in a car crash, and effected by Pierre Vogel, a former professional boxer and convert to Islam, he ended his rap career in 2010 declaring his own religious conversion to Islam. He declared his decision to convert in a public video. He became a member of a radical Islamic group called Die Wahre Religion (meaning The True Religion). He also said he was dropping his earlier name Deso Dogg in favor of the Islamic name Abou Maleeq

After conversion, he became an Islamic vocal music "nasheed" singer in German. Controversies ensued as he declared public support for Islamic "Mujahideen" forces in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and Chechnya, describing Berlin as eine weitere Kuffar-Metropole (yet another kuffar (infidel) metropolis).

In April 2011, the Berlin public prosecutor brought charges of illegal possession of weapons after Cuspert appeared as "Abou Maleeq" in a YouTube video brandishing arms. In house raids, 16 cartridges of 9 mm caliber and .22 were found in the premises. On 18 August 2011, he was found guilty and fined a monetary fine of 1800 euros without any jail term being specified. German officials remained vigilant however claiming his videos and speeches contained inflammatory rhetoric that promoted violence. Guido Steinberg, an Islamic studies expert at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs think-tank stated that Dogg's music "support[s] a radicalisation process." The public broadcaster Südwestrundfunk (SWR) said in a report that the "Islamist radical Denis C. alias "Abu Maleeq" was being investigated for sedition". The popular Report Mainz news magazine on German ARD TV highlighted his videos, including publicly praising Osama bin Laden in one of his nasheeds. Abou Maleeq announced he was moving from Berlin to Bonn. But his nasheeds came under further scrutiny when Arid Uka, a Muslim Kosovo Albanian from Frankfurt am Main, revealed after assassinating two U.S. Airmen and severely wounded two others in an operation in Frankfurt Airport that he was greatly influenced in his actions by Abou Maleeq's works and that he was a great fan of the nasheed singer
Denis Cuspert became involved with the Egyptian Austrian-born al-Qaeda affiliate Muhammad Mahmoud (also known as Abu Usama Al-Gharib) who had founded the Global Islamic Media Front (GIMF) as well as the militant salafist group Millatu Ibrahim later banned by the German authorities. German broadcaster ZDF also received footage apparently made by Cuspert where he threatened to start jihad in Germany and warned of many attacks. According to the German security authorities, Cuspert despite heavy observation managed to leave to Egypt to join the remnants of Millatu Ibrahim to try to establish a German Salafist colony that sought to impose Sharia law in Germany.

In 2013, he appeared in a video claiming to be on a jihad mission in Syria fighting with the opposition forces against the government forces loyal to President Bashar Assad. He allegedly operated in Syria as a fighter with the Syrian opposition under the nom de guerre of Abu Talha Al-Almani (Abu Talha the German).

In September 2013, Cuspert was reportedly injured in an air attack in Syrian Civil War. In November, German authorities issued a warning emanating from its Federal Criminal Police Office (Das Bundeskriminalamt (BKA)) and made public through the Foreign Office (Das Auswärtige Amt), about a possible attack by Cuspert against German institutions working in Turkey. The warning published by German national daily Die Welt explained that according to the German Foreign Office, it is possible that "Cuspert could use an explosive-laden vehicle". In a video posted online, Denis Cuspert denied ever having had such plans against Turkey or institutions working in Turkey" adding that Germany was not his "objective in terms attacks". Some reports close to the jihadists claim he has died. But there is no official confirmation from independent sources about his alleged death.

Yeah there was a video of him being hurriedly carried into some warehouse after an attack, looked like pandemonium. Anyway if it was him, he looked pretty dead to me, quite a number of bullet holes and blood splatters all over.

Well I'm not one to celebrate or gloat anyone's death, so whatever.

The most intense T-72 combat footage I've seen in a long time.

RPG-7's flying overhead, and rebels getting direct hits from 125mm HEAT.

Here, in the UK was existing huge propaganda action showing the events in black and white colours. Cruel sadistic army soldiers sent against his own citizens by sadistic president and on the other side  heroic 'activists' (this word was used for rebels) fighting for freedom and democracy. This picture was being ruined by jihadists themselves who published footages with themselves executing common people and christian priests. Russia played two gambits here. First was connected with chemical weapon. Perfect job. The USA lost its face. But the second was, with active role of either Syrian army or jihadists themselves, making conditions for annihilation of exactly FSA. This way all Western war propaganda I mentioned above collapsed. If the USA politicians want to continue their tricky job there they have to find allies amongst jihadists what sooner or later will push them into dead end.
About the first footage you published here. Amnesty International woke up and suddenly noticed some obvious facts indicating war crimes at rebels' side? Himalayas of hypocricy. But at least someone in the West decided to change the attitude towards this conflict. It's a bad news for jihadists. Here you have another evidence, from Adra: http://en.alalam.ir/news/1545605

The Saudi's are saying they will support the jihadi's all by themselves if they have to. Looks like this new grouping called the "Islamic Front" will take the place of the FSA.

    Not really.
Rebels hold nothing of significant military importance anymore and they are struggling to hang on just moving around and play the cat and mouse game.
Obviously the Saudis and the Turks try to let the game open attempting to undermine the new middle east superpower aka Iran.
And they seem to have still enough lunatics to keep going. In the same time they dreaming of opening a second front in Iraq, hard to see this coming at large though.
Having said this, as long as they still have the conflict ongoing they keep some nonzero chances of achieving gains even making the very long shot of pulling this off.
At least this is my interpretation.
