A few years will pass, and a new residential complex will grow opposite Moscow City, in which houses hover at a height of almost 40 meters above the ground, and at a height of 70 meters there are mansions with private parks.
This is a real project, the implementation has already begun.

I would be scared shitless to live in a house so high up and on stilts.

It's not a problem to worry about in the first place, unless you're loaded

Sometimes fear is irrational and silly, but for the people who were living in that Grenfel towers in London... not silly at all...

More post-modernist trash. Instead of making aesthetically appealing classical style buildings we have vapid gimmicks. Glass boxes, boxes on stilts, etc.
If some rich want to have gardens over the heads of the peasants, they can move to their western utopia and live it up there.

When I was visiting Turkey several times, it used to be shortly after some serious earthquakes.
I remember being shocked by the number of victims in 1999 - I was there a month after, same in 2011 and 2020.
But as I saw how they build, it stopped surprising me.
A typical building in Turkey is made of pillars, with concrete floors attached to them.
They don't build the walls in the way we are doing in Europe, with fundaments and thick solid material walls.
Not surprisingly, with a lack of proper building management and quality control, that can't stand a chance against earthquake...
Sometimes, I find "modern architecture" very similar to that what I saw. I am hardly impressed.

Those stilts look more durable than standard concrete skyscraper
It's not 20th century anymore and this building isn't even that tall

Yes, you are perfectly right.
I like this light-styled architecture, was only addressing the specific combination of Turkey's lack of care, proper management, quality control, and what was the effect of that 30 years back.
Simply could not trust those buildings, being there again and again.
They put enormous attention to all that buildings post-1999, because the negligence and bribery made all of that construction sites a time bomb ready to explode at any moment.

I wouldn't worry about earthquakes in Moscow
Turkey is a different story of course

May be closer than we all imagine.
Bribery and neglect have no boundaries, it costed lives in Miami not further than a month ago.

For anyone interested in English-language info on Moscow's new projects in general, I wholeheartedly recommend this thread. Give it a browse:

Shvabe launches production of a new pedestrian section of the traffic light.
The Ural enterprise of the Shvabe Holding launches serial production of additional modules for new traffic lights that meet the requirements of the national standard of the Russian Federation GOST 52289.
Production of new products is being launched at the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant named after E.S. Yalamov.
The first batch of 300 units of new products will be sent to equip streets and intersections of Yekaterinburg this year.
Unlike traditional pedestrian modules of a traffic light object, the new model module will work in white light instead of green. Its light section uses high-efficiency SMD LEDs with a power consumption of no more than 5 watts per component.
The pedestrian light infosection is an additional module that is installed directly under a traffic light in the area where two traffic flows can intersect according to the enabling signal.
The new line includes two types of modules: "pedestrian to the right" and "arrow to the left", as well as an inverse combination of values. In this way, the section displays information for drivers turning right or left about the simultaneous movement of pedestrians crossing the road in the same direction. Each section weighs 4 kg and measures 376×376×298 mm.
"With the help of these products, drivers are informed that they have entered and are in the zone of intersection of the phases of transport and pedestrian traffic lights, due to which it becomes possible to combine the "green" phases and thereby increase the capacity of intersections. Each section is programmed once — during production at the factory, where we use high-quality drivers and SMD LEDs. Today, the products are fully ready for mass production and subsequent shipments. After installing the first batch on the streets of Yekaterinburg, we will move on to other regions of Russia" – Anatoly Sludnykh, General Director of UOMZ said.
The included brackets provide easy installation. The anti-reflective safety glass minimizes the "phantom effect", and the impact-resistant polycarbonate housing gives the product resistance to mechanical damage and adverse weather conditions. Control is carried out from a regular road controller of any type.

I think this is amazing.
One thing I love about Moscow is the giant amount of space.
So you can have all weird types of architecture without one imposing on another.
This might be weird, but its iconic and its weirdness makes it uniquely Russian. I coudn't imagine any other country outside the FSU doing something like it. Its also very functional in that it brings new life into both new and old buildings.
In the West new buildings destroy old. Or clash. This just makes the new and the old look better.
Also the stilts are like giant silver birches.
Moscow has so much exciting new architecture. And so much brilliant old stuff.
My favourite city in the World in these things.
