Re: Iskander-M/K (SS-26 Stone):
The Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system will receive a new invulnerable missile, which practically cannot be detected, and at the same time it is capable of performing the most complex maneuvers on the trajectory, deftly evading enemy missiles and striking ground targets.
Sources in the Ministry of Defense told Izvestia that the development of the latest shells for the Iskander began in 2016 and the ammunition is currently in a high degree of readiness. Its tests were already carried out in August last year at the Kapustin Yar test site.
The rockets are made using stealth technology and belong to the "aeroballistic" class, that is, they fly along a ballistic trajectory, but do not leave the earth's atmosphere.
The new items have a radio-absorbing coating and, being super-maneuverable, are capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 500 km.Experts are confident that the new shells will radically increase the combat capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces.

Re: Iskander-M/K (SS-26 Stone):
The Russian Defense Ministry has received another brigade set of the Iskander-M operational-tactical complex. This is reported by the military department.
According to Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexey Krivoruchko, the Iskander-M OTRK brigade kit was delivered ahead of schedule and handed over to the military as part of a single day of acceptance of military products, held this Tuesday, August 10.
The Defense Ministry does not specify which brigade will receive the Iskanders . With a high degree of probability, it can be argued that the new set will go into service with one of the newly formed missile brigades, since all the missile brigades available in the Ground Forces were re-equipped from the Tochka-U missile system to the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system (OTRK) back in 2019. The last to rearm was the 448th missile brigade of the 20th Combined Arms Army stationed in Kursk.
The brigade set of 51 pieces of equipment includes: self-propelled launchers, transport and loading vehicles, missiles, an integrated automated control system, technical condition monitoring equipment, and a data preparation point.

Suspect it is for the new brigade being formed in the South for the 8th Guards Combined Army. Rumoured to be the 40th Rocket brigade.

Re: Iskander-M/K (SS-26 Stone):
Another brigade set of the Iskander-M missile system has been ordered
August 13th, 16:09
As reported August 10, 2021 Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko in his speech at the One day of acceptance of military products , until the end of this year the Russian Federation Armed Forces will receive new brigade set of operational-tactical missile complex "Iskander-M", which will then be put "Ahead of schedule". Calculations of the 448th missile brigade of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District, equipped with 9K720 "Iskander-M" operational-tactical missile systems, during a field exit, July 2021 (c) Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation
On the part of bmpd, we point out that information about the order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for an additional brigade set of the 9K720 Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system has not been published, and this set will be the 14th received by the Russian Armed Forces.
Earlier, from 2010 to 2019, under three contracts, the Scientific and Production Corporation KB Mashinostroyenia JSC supplied the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation with 13 Iskander-M brigade sets, which were used to re-equip 10 missile brigades previously equipped with Tochka-U. , and additionally equipped with three missile brigades (3rd, 12th and 464th) of the new formation. It can be assumed that the new brigade set of the Iskander-M OTRK will also be used to equip a missile brigade of the new formation.

Re: Iskander-M/K (SS-26 Stone):
On a tip from Miso's twitter https://twitter.com/halmiso1/status/1429386364580159495
In 2020, the newly formed 47th missile and 238th artillery brigades were deployed on the territory of the military garrison in Korenovsk (Krasnodar Territory).
47th Guards Missile Zaporozhye-Odessa Order of Lenin Red Banner Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov Brigade in 1964-1998 was stationed in the Krasnodar Territory.
The regalia of the 238th Artillery Brigade is unknown to me.
The 77th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade has also been deployed in Korenovsk since 2014.
On February 20, 2021, an Open Doors Day was held, where samples of weapons from the Korenovsk garrison were presented
source https://kuban24.tv/item/v-korenovskom-garnizone-v-preddverii-23-fevralya-proshel-den-otkrytyh-dverej
The 47th missile brigade is armed with the 9K79 Tochka-U missile system. The 238th artillery brigade is equipped with 2A65 Msta-B guns and 9K57 Uragan multiple launch rocket systems. The S-300V4 anti-aircraft missile systems of the 77th anti-aircraft missile brigade were also presented on the BTR-82AM the identification mark of the 103rd motorized rifle regiment of the 150th motorized rifle division is clearly visible
As Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Alexei Krivoruchko said in a speech at the Single Day of Acceptance of Military Products on August 10, 2021, by the end of this year, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will receive a new brigade set of the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system, which will be supplied at the same time. "Ahead of schedule" . It is likely that it was about the rearmament of the 47th missile brigade.
NOTE: new information in regards to the 3 previous posts... I have been tracking the Russian military since Soviet Union days (late '70's) and my saying has always been "Be prepared tomorrow to believe something different then today"... perfect example.

And is the composition of a brigade usually the same? or does it differ from one brigade to another?
Is it equal at like 6 launchers with K variant and 6 launchers with M variant or is it more focused on the M variant? Perhaps 8 and 4?

This will make 13 brigades. The latest unit was originally reported to be the 464th and then the 40th but turns up as the 47th. My understanding is the launchers can handle both missiles, so are interchangeable and it depends upon the fire mission. It has also been reported that some brigades may acquire a 4th battalion with another 4 TEL's. However this is not clear.

Re: Iskander-M/K (SS-26 Stone):
There is no confirmation because both sides were full of shit
Azerbaijan didn't want people to know they were fighting bunch of left for dead nobodies instead of Armenian Military and Armenia didn't want anyone to know that they pussied out and abandoned Nagorno Karabah
So everyone was throwing shit on the wall hoping it would stick

And also 2 divisional sets (4 TEL's each). Earlier reports said that the Kursk brigade was to get a 4th battalion and Shoigu said recently that Crimea will get a Rocket divisional unit this year.
"He also said that the brigade and two divisional sets of operational tactical complexes (OTRK) "Iskander-M" were received by the Russian Ground Forces in the fourth quarter of 2021. "One brigade and two divisional sets of the Iskander-M tactical missile system have been delivered," Krivoruchko reported to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on a single day of acceptance of military products."

"The missile forces and artillery of the district will be reinforced with two Iskander-M divisional sets," he said.
In total, in 2022, the military district will receive more than 1.3 thousand pieces of weapons and military equipment, which will make it possible to complete the equipping of two anti-aircraft missile regiments and seven units with modern models.
"Iskander-M" is designed to destroy small and area targets at a distance of up to 500 km, such as missile systems and multiple launch rocket systems, long-range artillery, command posts and communications centers, as well as aircraft and helicopters at airfields.

NOTE: not sure if these will be independent units or attached to the present 2 Iskander-M brigades.
