Don't know if this has been posted before but here's a video showing Kronshtadt testing prototypes of their Fregat UAV, which is then tied to a known simulation about a similar, larger UAV being used on Russia's future UDK Ivan Rogov...the tests may be from 2015, however, and though the video has the Kronshtadt logo and clearly shows them testing stuff I'm not sure that this is an official Kronshtadt video, so speculate with care

If military is smart they would be fast tracking this
Their ships currently use Orlan-10 which are pain in the ass to retrieve to say nothing of small size

It looks like the drone in the video is just a miniature version.

Interesting, but it would be critical to keep it balanced so anything you put in the nose would have to be balanced by something in the tail, and wing mounted munitions would need to be close to the CG too.
I don't know why but I actually prefer the V-44 type arrangement with four props and engines in a quad arrangement for vertical and horizontal flight... it just seems more stable and more balanced....

Any news about the korsar UAV ? It wasn't presented last time with all the drones. It's the most interesting drone they are creating because it is quite simple and cheap. It will have similar and better resukt than turkish BT2 drone which is more used than their Anka S as it is cheaper. Korsar should be cheaper than all the drones showed last month.

http://www.ruselectronics.ru/news/?id=3544
Roselectronica Holding Rostec Corporation will develop a new type of helicopter radar systems based on microwave radiation. The equipment is designed to control the helicopter in poor visibility and perform unmanned landing.
Microwave radiation will allow to form a detailed radar image of the external situation even in difficult weather
conditions. The system also provides for timely notification of threats to the pilot in low visibility conditions. New radar systems will be equipped with russian Helicopters.
The corresponding cooperation agreement was signed by the research and production company "Salute" (part of Roselectronics) and the National Helicopter Center named after M.L. Mile and N.I. Kamov (part of Russian Helicopters).
The parties agreed to start long-term cooperation in equipping helicopters with next-generation electronic systems.
"The expertise of our company in the field of microwave electronics will allow to create an advanced radar system based on ultra-high-frequency
radiation. The new equipment will simplify the management of helicopter equipment and will be cheaper than the optical systems used today on military helicopters. In addition, existing helicopter radars cannot be mounted on small unmanned helicopters due to large dimensions and mass. The equipment will be built on non-standard circuitry solution and innovative methods of digital signal processing, which will reduce its dimensions for use on small and unmanned helicopters," said Alexander Bushuyev, Ceo of Salute NPP.
The three hints that might make it sound ROFAR might be what they are talking about because.
1. They state next generation electronic systems.
2. Radars on very small unmanned vehicles like the Kamov drones was the main talk of what RTI wanted to implement on drones in the future with photonic integrated circuits. Because of heating requirements and size.
3. Radar using UHF is talked about in the same manner KRET's head advisor was talking about a 6th gen radar.
"Salute" might be the 4th company working on ROFAR besides RTI, KRET and VEGA and if anyone has their website link let me know.

This concept like it does a very good job with variable take off and landing. It can be easily scaled to the size shown in the video. UAVs do not need to be the size of 777s.

The first Orion complex transferred to the troops. Two control cars and three drones.
On the part of bmpd, we recall that the first serial sample of the medium-range unmanned aviation complex with medium-altitude and long-duration Orion unmanned aerial vehicles produced by the Kronstadt Group was transferred to the Russian Ministry of Defense for trial operation in April 2020. The complex includes a command post and three Orion vehicles.
In August 2020, the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Kronstadt Group signed the first serial contract for the supply of Orion long-duration unmanned aerial vehicles. At the same time, Nikolai Dolzhenkov, the general designer of the Kronstadt Group, said that by the end of 2020, the Orion UAV should receive the letter O1.

Orions have been used in Syria since last year as part of trial phase
Unless you mean these 3 specifically?

I mean in official use with weapons. Not tests.

They used weapons in Syria
That's why VKS wanted them in service ASAP, they loved what they saw

Re: UAVs in Russian Armed Forces: News #2
A drone charged with a laser from space was developed in Russia
A new type of unmanned aerial vehicles that can be charged during flight with a space laser is patented in Russia. The development belongs to the specialists of the Energia rocket and space corporation.
The description of the invention for the patent is published on the website of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property. "The size and capacity of batteries is now one of the most problematic factors in the development of unmanned aerial vehicles for vertical takeoff and landing," the document says.
Scientists are trying to solve this problem in two ways. The first is by increasing the energy and mass characteristics of power supplies. And the second - with the help of a different power supply path "using a wireless power transmission system based on laser installations with a wavelength of 0.5 to 10 microns." The laser beam can be converted into electricity using photoelectric converters.
- The technical result of the invention is the combination in the design of the quadcopter, in addition to the functions of an omnidirectional receiver-converter of the electromagnetic energy of a laser beam into electricity and a passive marker of a search, tracking and guidance system (PSN), as well as the functions of a power structure and a thermal one, which makes it possible to perform a constructive (power) and thermal linking of three mutually perpendicular honeycomb circular panels that make up its body into a single heating network, - specified in the description. The authors explain the essence of the invention by drawings.
Unlike vehicles using solar converters, the development can fly both during the day and at night. Its operation is most effective in those cases when the situation does not require high flight speeds, but a longer hovering time over the object under study. The power source can be located not only in space, but also on the surface of the earth.

It was already posted by George in post number 162... and it does not work remotely now... have to watch it on YT.
Click on the subtitles button to turn them on and then go to settings and click on Russian and it gives you the option of off, Russian and auto translate... choose the latter and select the language you prefer...
