Everybody wants to be on the millitary forum with the tough russian theme.

The dislike button?. i do not spend enough time online here to be a judge about that.

I happen to speak and read Dutch...of Hollands, Nederlands sprekend en kan het ook lezen en schrijven in ABN, As the Dutch say.
Only the Dutch themselves use and post this information as it is useless to others if they dont know the language.

Judging by his first couple of posts Sundoesntrise proved that he has "no analogues" language skills. In less than a couple of posts he managed to improve his linguistic skills from Neanderthal [troll] level to an eloquent level far beyond the best online translator's ability - not to mention - most people in Britain as well!

I do like the guy but in simple Afrikaans: "Hy's een groot kak prater!"

In the age of online translators it does not make a lot of sense to hide abuse in a foreign tongue...

Sundoesntrise is apparently well versed in Dutch and he would instantly recognize what I said in Afrikaans which is a close relative to Dutch. Naturally anyone can do an online translation of what I said - which can loosely be interpreted as "a shit stirrer" or "he speaks a lot of shit". Now if that can be regarded as abusive then I'm afraid many on this forum are in big trouble!

OK, have had a complaint about a dislike on a thread, and I think perhaps we should decide what happens together.

Currently the dislike system is anonymous.... which is always a bad thing on the internet... when some people are able to do things anonymously they end up doing things they would never normally do and of course with it being anonymous third parties can inflame problems and disagreements by posting dislikes which will be assumed to be from someone else.

I have decided that anonymous dislikes has to go, so your choices are either dislikes go completely and are removed as an option, or they remain but stop being anonymous.

You can indicate which you prefer with this post... "like" for the complete removal of the dislike option and "dislike" to keep dislikes but remove the anonymity of them so you can see who likes and dislikes a post.

The results will take effect on Monday night local NZ time (currently Saturday night now).

Note if the dislikes remain but are no longer anonymous it will be interesting to see how many disappear before Monday because AFAIK existing dislikes will reveal the member who made them.... unless they are undone before hand.

I don't care if someone has too much estrogen in their system and reacts like an emotional wreck to the fact that someone dislikes their post. It's more funny when it's anonymous but if it's not then it makes little difference to me either way.

leaving them unamed for both likes and dislikes is fine by me. Because all it does it end up becoming a method of rallying against someone if you know who is showing dislikes or likes to unpopular opinions.

Make dislikes named in that case but DO NOT remove dislike feature, it would be a pussy way out

I have never disliked any post but have liked quite a few.

It would have been nice if there was a feature that would have allowed us to bookmarked/save all the posts that we liked.

OK, time is up... I will keep the dislike system but keeping it anonymous is not going to happen.

Dislikes will now still be possible but will also be visible too.

Dislikes are now visible as you can see with the first post of this thread... my only dislike vote for testing purposes....
