"Checkpoint" for 11 million: Russian peacekeepers built an impregnable "fortress" in Karabakh

On December 12, 2020, the Russian Ministry of Defense published a video showing the equipment of the Russian peacekeepers' checkpoint in Nagorno-Karabakh. Netizens identified on the footage the fortification "Blockpost" from JSC "Cheboksary plant" Metallist ".

It should be noted that checkpoints are special fortified checkpoints capable of independently maintaining a perimeter defense. At the same time FS "Blockpost" fully meets these criteria. It protects the military from fire from small arms and shrapnel, and also allows for all-round observation of the adjacent territory. "Checkpoint" ensures the normal work of personnel, including with personal protective equipment.

It should be noted that "Blockpost" is protected by bulk-type gabions GNT-2 and GNT-3. They provide protection to the peacekeepers of the observation post. There is a pair of quite comfortable living modules for the living of soldiers, a block module for cooking and eating, as well as a transport and technologicalblock-module equipped with units for supplying constant electricity. All modules are equipped with the necessary household appliances, heating and air conditioning systems.

We remind you that in November 2017, the Ministry of Defense acquired through the public procurement website (order No. 0173100004517001705) 10 sets of FS "Blockpost" with a total value of 107.2 million rubles. Thus, one set at that time cost around 11 million rubles, or rather 10.72 million rubles.

It turns out that for less than 11 million rubles. Russian peacekeepers have acquired an impregnable "fortress" in a complex region. In total, 16 observation posts of Russian peacekeepers have been created in Nagorno-Karabakh. But how many of them will be provided by FS "Blockpost" is still unknown.

If it's true that territory will become part of Russia and it won't be russian peacekeepers but russian military bases. Then they will never leave and Azeri will have to trade all the areas they captured because if they don't Russia will take them by force at the first incident involving real weapon fires.

On the other side Armenia has no choice but let russians in. They are stuck between Azerbaijan and Turkey and we saw they can't fight them.

This is to prepare it for annexation- so that Turkey & NATO won't wash their boots in the Caspian.

With the money they spent on russian hardware they could have bough 1 f-16 or 2-3 SHORADS armed with outdate IR aim-9 missiles. I wonder they would have done then. They just lost because there was no real strategy when they bought equipment. They didn't look what Az were buying and never adapted their strategy.

Furthermore the Clash Report does the typical thing. Pashinyan didn't point out any Russian system per se, and the system bought in "2017" was actually the Infauna, not the Repellent. 1 Repellent was found deployed and destroyed (hit twice by Harop). The price of the system as well was 42 million for a whole battalion (6 units). Just saying.

S-300P/PS is the biggest chunk and that’s about 120 million for brand new PMU2 battery.

They never destroyed one entire battery but only some components like outdated radars or single launcher truck.

120 million is for PMU2. This one should be more like 70-90 million if not less.

Not big on conspiracy theories, but he may have been under orders from Soros and gang to lose NK so Armenia could be brought into NATO.

Pashinyan betray his nation and surrender Artsakh to Azerbaijan and Turkey. Most probably they pay to him for this. It seem he also give them some parts of Armenia itself, because Armenian army doesn't control its territory anymore and Azeri army now freely went in Armenia.

I think non of them expect, that Russia will take Artzakh for itself. Yes, on paper they are now peacekeepers for 5 years. But Artzakh is now Russian territory. It will either become independent under Russian protection or part of Russian Federation. Russia will stay there and will not give it to Azerbaijan. You could bet now, that Russia will now slowly return lost teritories back to Artzakh as it is now their land. Azerbaijan have Russia on northern border and Iran on the south, so I don't think, they will do anything stupid against Russia. All provocations now will only mean, that Azerbijan will lost teritories piece by piece until whole Artzakh will be completly together again.

Slowly, but surely Azerbaijan will find out, that they lost this war and Artsakh win the war. Artsakh succede in defending their teritory until Russian army come there and stop the war. Azerbaijan will slowly return to Russian Artsakh all teritories and even a coridor to Russian border.

Economic developments must be politically organised , to foster social adhesion, peace and  bring the Caucases  into the Euro - Asian economic and political and military security framework.

Investments by Russia or Iran or China , should take place, within an agreed framework of social and economic development plan. Investments should be prioritised in poor regions that border diverse ethnic groups. With the aim of building townships  of mixed population ,  intermarriage will take place and lead to evolution of  homogenous areas that were  initially ethnically diverse . Economic buffer zones will stop ethnic conflict.

The level of investment by neighbouring countries , should be organised in a similar way, as to fishing or oil rights in the Caspian sea.  According to length of border and population. This means countries not sharing a border , with this region are only invited, if they fulfill all the conditions of development plan , and if local investment is inadequate for projects.
