Experts are looking for an ideology for Russia, by Rafael Fakhrutdinov for VZGLYAD. 24/11/2021.
Russia needs to define a national idea different from the American and Chinese. It can be based on the "conservatism of the optimists," which Vladimir Putin spoke of. This conclusion was reached by political scientists and philosophers of several expert clubs, which the Izborsk club gathered to discuss together the ideological guidelines of the state and society.
On Wednesday in Moscow, representatives of several philosophical and political science clubs held a general meeting, at which they presented a report on the need to create a unified ideological basis for the country. The discussion was titled “The Turning Point: Ideology That Will Unite the Nation”.
The event was attended by experts from the Izborsky, Sretensky and Zinovievsky Clubs, the Mendeleev Institute for Socio-Political Forecasting, the World Russian People's Council, the Institute for Economic Strategies of the Social Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Assembly, the Federal People's Council, the Russian Military Experts Collegium and Moscow State University.
The meeting was opened by the chairman of the Izborsk club, writer Alexander Prokhanov. “Finding ourselves in our community, having next to us such wonderful creators, thinkers, philosophers, these are our colleagues from the Sretensky, Zinovievsky club, we“ Izborsky ”felt that our appearance, our addition is a precious and in many ways an amazing event,” he quotes writer RAPSI . In his opinion, the Russian consciousness in the person of thinkers demonstrates its independent creativity for the first time in a hundred years.
“All patriotically minded statesmen of various directions came to this general council - to the“ council ”, - said Prokhanov to the VZGLYAD newspaper later, already on the sidelines of the meeting. - This is not the result of some sort of screening, some kind of design - we feel that society itself is ripe to unite us all. Figuratively speaking, the people delegated us to this “council”, asked us to unite so that together we could find a recipe for salvation."
Another participant of the meeting, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Minister for the Main Directions of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Glazyev, said that each country has a center for the formation of ideology for the ruling elites.
“It’s good if such a center is fueled by ideas that are close to the people, ideas that can bring the state closer to public interests. But this is by no means always the case and everywhere, "the academician told the VZGLYAD newspaper. “In America, for example, there are intellectual centers that shape the ideology of the deep state. I'm talking about the ability of elites to manipulate public opinion, and not only in their own country. At the expense of such centers, they are able to influence the entire world politics ”.
According to Glazyev, if the country does not have a generally recognized center for the formation of ideological currents, many officials begin to defend only their private interests. Usually the elites in this case simply profess the "cult of the golden calf." “As a result, we are faced with a choice: either we will be destined to live in a society where money rules. Or we will be able to build a just society, each member of which will feel comfortable, worthy, will be able to realize their creative potential”, the expert noted.
Director of the Research Institute for Economic Strategies Alexander Ageev recalled that America has built "not just a system of government bodies that forms an ideology, but a whole ramified futurological industry."
“Each more or less large structure, especially an international one, has its own divisions of strategic planning and forecasting. In addition, in all universities, almost every humanitarian faculty, there are so-called think tanks ("brain trusts"). We hear RAND Corporation, the Santa Fe Institute, but there are many more - dozens and hundreds. All funds have them. A broth has been created from a multitude of such projects, ”Ageev said. As a result, in his opinion, in the development of the system of ideological "goal-setting and forecasting", Russia is noticeably lagging behind the United States, as well as China.
One of the foundations of our ideological basis should be the reasonable "conservatism of the optimists", which President Vladimir Putin spoke about in his recent Valdai speech , added the deputy head of the World Russian People's Council, the first vice-rector of the Russian Orthodox University of St. John the Theologian Alexander Shchipkov. “Our path is moral conservatism or social traditionalism, if we go over to the language of political philosophy. In other words: one should live according to conscience, justice and rely on the experience of ancestors. Orthodox and Muslims, republicans and monarchists, conservatives and socialists, atheists and agnostics support a common imperative: the moral law is more important than all others. Values are more important than prices, ”the speaker detailed.
In addition, he said, a healthy society should be made up of families - as horizontal social bonds, not individuals. “A historical agreement between generations, as well as a strong state, fair distribution of benefits and traditional values should serve as vertical links,” the expert summed up.
Vitaly Averyanov, deputy chairman of the Izborsk club, director of the Institute of Dynamic Conservatism, made a presentation in which he summarized the theses of his colleagues. “All of Russia and our government, in particular, must recognize themselves as the voice of a civilization with a great historical mission. This is our response to the challenges facing the whole world, ”Averyanov said. The idea of Russia should not be in class, not in ethnocultural, not in confessional, not in racial or gender approach - our country should rely on its own civilizational codes, Averyanov is sure.
Neither the Chinese scenario associated with social credit, nor the Western path, for example, the United States, which presupposes the creation of an algorithmic society, submissive to manipulation, is suitable for Russia, the speaker added. According to him, Russia should have its own doctrine, which will be aimed at creating a meritocracy. “This is a system that presupposes the power of the best, most talented people, and not a submissive society, which is being created by our neighbors in the West and in the East,” said Averyanov.
Ideally, the goal of the self-organizing work of the leading "think tanks" in Russia should be their unification under the auspices of the specially created official Strategic Council of the Russian Federation, Averyanov suggested.
In addition, in his report, the expert also described the image of Russia's ideological opponent. “Our enemy is the Western“ global clergy, ”that is, the new priesthood, which possesses all the signs of a destructive sect and imposes on the whole world the agenda of anthropological nihilism leading to catastrophe. And only Russia can answer him and must do it ”, - believes the deputy chairman of the Izborsk club. Averyanov explained that the "global clergy", among other things, calls on the world to negative population growth, which is especially unacceptable for Russia. “It is important for us not only to maintain the status of an energy superpower, it is vitally important for us to enter a new technological order, to carry out reindustrialization. For this it is necessary to use all energy resources, ”the expert called on.
