    The price of a barrel of Urals went to 65 USD. Over G7 oil price cap of 60 USD.
    https://oilprice.com/oil-price-charts/

    So the "discount" is now 17 USD vs Brent. Or should I actually say non-Urals oil costs 17 USD more and whoever is enforcing that rule is paying a 17 USD surcharge.

    Effect of G7 price cap mechanism lasted a whole 4 months. Now the market found the way around it. I expect US pirates to start arresting ships with Russian oil next as pirates do.

    Russia and Saudi Arabia: Destroying the US house of cards, by Javier Benítez for Sputniknews.lat. 04.15.2023.

    The strong partnership between Russia and Saudi Arabia in OPEC+ - confirmed in the decisions of the oil alliance to reduce production at a time when the United States is desperately seeking to increase it in order to have a cheap hydrocarbon — can be a real tsunami for the North American country's economy.

    The symptom and its diagnosis

    According to the Bloomberg agency, the oil alliance between Moscow and Riyadh combines enough ingredients to cause all kinds of problems to the US economy and even to the re-election campaign of the current tenant of the White House, Joe Biden.

    The decision taken by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) this April to reduce crude oil production for the second time since Biden traveled to Saudi Arabia last summer asking for an increase — in a clear example of a slap in the face of a possible debacle in the November 2022 midterm elections — may be just the beginning.

    That announcement on April 2, which sent oil prices up by about five dollars per barrel, already means that the risks of recession are greater than they would have been otherwise, because consumers who spend more on energy will have less cash left for other things and inflation will be higher.

    In the opinion of the director of the International Diploma in Oil Geopolitics of Venezuela, Miguel Jaimes, the alliance "has had a very great significance in coordinating each of its actions with the support of OPEC." OPEC+, which includes 23 countries, has almost 99% of the world's oil reserves, has understood very well, in a very clear way, and has given messages to the West, Europe, the United States and Canada, who has the oil, and what we are going to do with the oil.

    A new world

    Jaimes understands that "oil is giving for peace, for understanding, for progress, to solve. Oil is setting an agenda. [...] What Bloomberg does not say is this geopolitical approach, which changes the agenda, removes the rags from the agenda of America, dirty rags in which America always threw and said: 'This is the fate of the Persian Gulf, we are going to continue at war', as if they were great sages and the builders of the destiny of nations," he estimated.

    "This neocolonial, backward, infamous form has to change. And it has to change because the change will not come from Washington, the change will come from the supplying countries."

    "The United States has blocked countries, using all its power, which is large, which is military, against nations that are very weak, that are very small, as is the case with Venezuela. [...] What achieves the United States by sinking other countries in this way,'" he lamented.

    "Those [OPEC+] countries have seen the examples, of what they have done with Venezuela, of what they have done with Syria, with Iraq, with Libya, there are the facts, there are the proofs. From 1990 onwards that the wars have been against OPEC. And these countries have said, 'Hey, that's enough.' Now we also have projects, we have reached a level of economic growth, we have a very high global commitment and we are going to do and we are going to create. We are not going to continue being the countries in which the US sends its confrontation agenda in dirty clothes," concludes Miguel Jaimes.

    Poland looks as if they really want to use this situation to up the pressure on Germany.

    Poland proposed to ban the transit of oil through Belarus. The written proposal from Warsaw, which, according to a diplomatic source, was sent to the European Commission, marks the first step towards the approval of the next package of EU sanctions.

    We are talking about a ban on the transit of oil through the northern branch of the Druzhba pipeline, the northern branch of which runs from Russia through Belarus to Poland and further to Germany.

    36 Rosneft fields will fall under the bill on liberalization of LNG exports

    Moscow, April 19 - IA Neftegaz.RU. The bill, which allows state-owned companies to export reduced natural gas ( LNG ) to users of onshore subsoil plots wholly or partially located north of 67 degrees north latitude, will apply to 36 Rosneft fields in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets districts.
    This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia A. Bondarenko.

    A. Bondarenko on April 19, 2023 presented the corresponding government bill in the State Duma Committee on Energy.

    Theses of A. Bondarenko:

    You can export gas in the form of LNG from all fields of Gazprom and its 100% subsidiaries:
    these are about 190 deposits;
    after the introduction in 2012-2013. of a number of amendments to the law "On Gas Export" gained the right to export LNG:
    Rosneft,
    Gazprom export ,
    NOVATEK companies :
    Yamal LNG ,
    Arctic LNG-2 ,
    Arctic LNG-1,
    Arctic LNG-3,

    Gazprom gaznefteprodukt holding;
    licenses issued by the Ministry of Energy;
    the new draft law expands the list of 3 categories of entities that have the right to export LNG, and provides for the granting of the right to export to Rosneft;
    the list of fields now owned by Rosneft is expanding:
    these are about 36 fields located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Nenets, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Districts;
    the draft law will make it possible to monetize gas reserves that are far removed from Gazprom's unified gas supply system;
    LNG can be produced from both natural gas and associated petroleum gas ( APG );
    the bill aims to meet the target for LNG, which is set in the energy strategy of Russia until 2035:
    about 140 million tons/year and achieving a 20% share in world exports.
    Amendments to the law on gas exports, which provide for the granting of the exclusive right to export LNG to users of subsoil plots on land, wholly or partially located north of 67 degrees north latitude, were developed by the Russian Ministry of Energy back in May 2022.

    It was assumed that such a measure would not only allow monetizing large gas reserves located in territories remote from the UGSS, but also to create conditions for increasing the production and export of LNG from promising LNG projects.

    For example, Rosneft's potential LNG projects have long experienced difficulties with LNG exports.
    We are talking about projects that can be implemented as part of the Vostok Oil project on the Taimyr Peninsula and have significant reserves of natural gas, as well as the planned LNG project based on the fields of Rosneft's subsidiary Kynsko-Chaselskoye neftegaz.

    The Vostok Oil project is being created by Rosneft on the Taimyr peninsula in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
    The project includes:
    52 subsoil plots, within the boundaries of which 13 discovered fields are located:
    the key ones are the Payakhskaya group of deposits, the largest deposits of the Vankor cluster (Vankorskoye, Suzunskoye, Tagulskoye and Lodochnoye),
    promising subsoil plots in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, incl. Zapadno-Irkinsky subsoil plot.
    The resource base of the project is estimated at 6.5 billion tons of liquid hydrocarbons and about 2 trillion m 3 of gas.

    Position of the Energy Committee
    The Energy Committee reported that the bill would allow monetization of large gas reserves, which are located in territories remote from the unified gas supply system, with the help of LNG projects.

    Theses of the Chairman of the Committee P. Zavalny:
    in the current geopolitical situation, Russia needs accelerated gas monetization and an increase in export potential through diversification of supplies in order to maintain its leadership position in the global energy market;
    at the same time, we need to increase the export of LNG as the most mobile type of natural gas and demanded by external markets, the share of which in the world gas trade will only grow;
    Today, Russia's share in the LNG market is about 9%, despite the fact that our country ranks first in the world in terms of proven reserves of natural gas, owning approximately 20% of the world's reserves.
    Gas fields located north of 67 degrees north latitude, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Nenets, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Districts, are significantly remote from the Unified Gas Supply System, which is why gas monetization from these fields is economically feasible only through LNG production.
    LNG bunkering
    The bill also provides for the removal of LNG bunkering operations from the gas export law, which will stimulate the use of LNG as a bunkering fuel, which is a more environmentally friendly and alternative fuel for sea and river navigation.

    Theses of P. Zavalny:
    this will help:
    replacement of liquid fuels with gas in the domestic market,
    supporting the export potential of the oil industry in the face of declining oil production ,
    reducing budget expenditures for stabilizing prices for petroleum products in the domestic market.
    The 1st reading of the draft federal law on amendments to articles 2 and 3 of the federal law on gas exports will be held on May 16, 2023.

    As noted by the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation P. Sorokin , by the end of 2022, Russia increased LNG exports by 10% :
    taking into account potential projects, by 2030 our country can reach a level of LNG production of more than 100 million tons per year.

    China’s big refiners snapping up Russian oil – Reuters, 04.24.2023.

    Major processing plants are reportedly squeezing out smaller players for supplies from the sanctioned country.

    China's largest state-owned and private refineries are buying more Russian crude, driving up its price, and forcing smaller independent producers, known as ‘teapots’, to search for cheaper options, Reuters reported this week.

    Top Chinese buyers, which shunned Russian oil when the EU and G7 imposed an embargo and a price cap on the commodity in December, have restored confidence since then and joined the race for discounted oil.

    In February, state refiners PetroChina and Sinopec resumed imports, and in March, large private oil refiners Hengli Petrochemical and Jiangsu Eastern Shenghong Co followed suit, according to traders and shiptracking data from Refinitiv, Kpler and Vortexa.

    In March, China's overall Russian crude imports, including pipeline deliveries and seaborne supplies, surged to a record 9.61 million tons, which is the equivalent to 2.26 million barrels per day (bpd), customs data showed on Friday.

    “China's imports of Russian Urals are on track to break March's record [in April] as more refiners start to tap on the discounted crude from Russia's Baltics,” said Vortexa analyst Emma Li, adding that around 700,000 bpd of Urals may reach China in April, up from 600,000 bpd in the previous month.

    Meanwhile, smaller refiners had to opt for alternatives such as Russian Arctic grades, Iranian and Venezuelan oil as the big buyers are back on the market.

    In March alone, a record 4.2 million barrels of Varandey blend from the Russian Arctic were delivered to China's Shandong province, home to most of the teapots, Kpler data showed.

    Loadings of crude from Russia's western ports in April is expected to reach the highest level since 2019, above 2.4 million barrels per day (bpd), despite Moscow's pledge to cut oil production, trading and shipping sources said.

    At the same time, discounts that Russia was offering as it sought to divert supplies away from the West are narrowing. Discounts for the country’s flagship Urals blend contracted in China for July have reduced to about $9-$10 a barrel to ICE Brent futures on a delivered ex-ship (DES) basis, from around $14 a barrel for March deliveries, according to Reuters.

    Russia to boost gas supply to China – official, 04.25.2023.

    Supplies via the Power of Siberia pipeline will grow by 50% this year, Deputy PM Novak has announced.

    Russia will increase natural gas exports to China by nearly 50% this year, as Moscow is steering towards greater energy cooperation with Beijing, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak said on Sunday.

    In an interview with the Russia-1 TV channel, Novak declared that last year Moscow supplied 15 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to China and pledged to increase deliveries to 22 bcm this year. Novak also announced that, in the next two years, supplies via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline would reach their full capacity of 38 bcm annually.

    China currently gets most of its Russian gas through this mega pipeline, which is a section of the so-called Eastern Route. It was partially launched in December 2019, becoming the first pipeline to supply Russian gas to China. The Eastern Route includes the 3,000km-long Power of Siberia pipeline in Russia and a section in China that extends to 5,111km.

    The Power of Siberia is part of a $400 billion, 30-year agreement between Russia’s Gazprom and the China National Petroleum Corporation, which was inked in May 2014.

    In February, Moscow and Beijing signed an agreement for additional natural gas supplies to China via the Eastern Route. The countries are now working on the Power of Siberia 2 energy project, which involves the construction of a gas pipeline to China through the territory of Mongolia.

    Novak also noted that Moscow has abandoned the US dollar and euro in energy trade with Beijing, with most settlements for oil, gas and other resources conducted in Chinese yuan and Russian rubles.

    And that has been a bit of a problem the west has not anticipated too... when Russian resources were shipped on European owned ships with European insurance companies insuring the goods and the ships and the sales being made in US dollars it was rather easy to keep track of what Russia was selling and where their trade was and in what volumes... but now they are not using western shipping or they bought the western ships and are running them for themselves and they are getting insurance from alternative sources all of a sudden the west does not have precise up to date accurate information about Russian economics and trade....

    With Russia not publishing the information then that is going to really leave the west in the dark...

    The super spies who spy on everything and try to know everything will not know even quite basic information... that might be upsetting.

    No one else to blame of course.

    Further details:

    EU reliant on rebadged Russian oil from India - Bloomberg, 04.30.2023.

    India has become the bloc's top fuel supplier by re-exporting Russian supplies, according to the outlet.

    The EU is still powering its economy with Russian oil despite sanctions, Bloomberg reported this week. Member states are now said to be buying the sanctioned fuel through India.

    In December, the EU, G7, and allied countries imposed an embargo and a $60-per-barrel price cap on Russian crude and later introduced similar restrictions for exports of petroleum products.

    But India has not joined the ban and instead has ramped up purchases of Russian oil that Moscow has been offering at discounts.

    In 2022-2023, Indian refiners bought between 970,000 and 981,000 barrels of Russian oil per day, accounting for more than a fifth of the country's overall imports, which were between 4.5 million and 4.6 million barrels per day (bpd), Kpler and Vortexa data showed.

    Not only has India become Russia's top oil buyer since the ban went into effect, New Delhi is now on track to become the bloc's largest supplier of refined fuels.

    Indian processing plants have been snapping up cheap Russian oil, turning it into fuels and reselling it to the EU at a competitive price.

    "Russian oil is finding its way back into Europe despite all the sanctioning and India ramping up fuel exports to the west is a good example of it," a lead crude analyst at Kpler, Viktor Katona, told Bloomberg. "With India taking in so much Russian barrels, it's inevitable," he added.

    Imports of fuel from India to the EU are set to jump above 360,000 bpd, overtaking shipments from Saudi Arabia, according to Kpler.

    Diesel powers large sectors of the European economy with more than a third of it coming from Russia prior to the conflict in Ukraine. Now that the EU has stopped accepting refined products from Moscow, the bloc needs to source the fuel from alternative suppliers, which means higher shipping costs and tighter competition between refineries, the outlet said.

    Meanwhile, Russian crude oil arrivals to India are expected to surpass 2 million bpd in April, representing almost 44% of the nation's overall crude imports, data from Kpler showed.

    Hahaha... India should buy as much as Russia is prepared to sell and start increasing the price for the EU... where else are they going to buy it from?

    Russia will make a profit on sales to India, why not India make bigger profits from the EU cowards.

    If the EU says no then India can tell them the US said for the EU to say yes and everything will be fine... Twisted Evil

    Russian oil exports to India reach milestone, 05.02.2023.

    Overall volumes are reportedly greater than those purchased from Iraq and Saudi Arabia combined.

    Shipments during April of Russian crude oil to India have, for the first time ever, exceeded the combined oil-supply to New Delhi of Saudi Arabia and Iraq, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing data from energy-cargo tracker Vortexa.

    Exports of Russian crude to India during the period amounted to 1.7 million barrels per day (bpd), compared to 812,000 bpd imported by the South Asian nation from Iraq and 671,000 bpd of Saudi Arabian oil it bought.

    The data reveals a steady increase in India’s imports of Russian crude. In March, they amounted to 1.7 million bpd, with Moscow’s share of New Delhi’s oil imports reaching 34%, double the figure for Iraq, traditionally India’s top supplier.

    In contrast, Russian oil supplies to India totaled just 69,000 bpd (25 times less) in March 2022. They saw a month-over-month increase to 270,000 bpd in the following month.

    Overall volumes of oil supplies from Russia are expected to remain steady in May, according to Serena Huang, an analyst at Vortexa, as cited by the agency.

    The expert explained the projection citing rising competition for the Urals grade from China, the world’s second biggest consumer of crude.

    India, the world’s third biggest oil-consuming nation, started boosting purchases of Russian crude offered at a discount after Western states shunned direct supplies from the country in response to Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine.

    Novatek to improve proprietary natural gas liquefaction technology

    MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/. Novatek has obtained a Russian patent for its proprietary natural gas liquefaction technology called Arctic Cascade Modified (ACM), which builds upon the company’s patented Arctic Cascade process already implemented at the Yamal LNG project’s Train 4, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

    "Stemming from operational lessons learned, improvements to the technology enable LNG production with a leaner equipment list and better energy efficiency. The underlying process design is compatible with domestically manufactured equipment," Novatek said.

    The ACM liquefaction process is intended for the company’s large-scale LNG projects in the Arctic with a production capacity of 3 mln tons of LNG a year per LNG train.

    Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said earlier in an interview with TASS that the capacity of the Russian medium-capacity technology Arctic Cascade might be increased from 1 mln to 2-3 mln tons, adding that concurrently Russia also developed a large-capacity gas liquefaction technology with a capacity of 5-6 mln tons with structures of Rosatom, Novatek and Gazprom.

    Russia has been involved in substituting import of LNG technologies and subsidizing equipment creation since 2014, Novak said, noting that an increase in Russia’s LNG production was increasingly relevant as it permitted reducing the dependence on transit countries. The country plans to increase production to 64 mln tons per year in coming years, and to reach 100 mln tons by 2035, he said.

    That sounds like a generous offer on Moscow's part

    And the Pakistanis have agreed to cease their arms supplies to Kiev then, or not?
