The pure numbers of weapon systems are much higher in Ukraine. Ukraine is oversaturated with anti tank missile and AD missiles. Germany has a small force of tanks, less APCs, only a few pieces of artillery.
Important point...Germany has only short range air defense based on stinger and Patriot PAC-3 nothing between. The quality of eqiupment is of course much better than in Ukraine but difficult to say how much better...even if a Leopard 2 is 50 % or let's say 70 % better than a T-72 this means 2 T-72 outweigh a Leopard tank.
On the other point...Luftwaffe has a few nice Eurofighters, they are not bad...but only a few.
NATO's concept is that one country compensates for the weaknesses of the other country. Combined they are really strong but in europe they lack a few important weapon systems only USA have.

If russian forces will terminate the Nazi scum in Mariupol a huge amount of forces will be freed for further offensive to close the pocket for Donbass. Izium is now in russian hands and the grip on ukrainian forces in Donbass is harder than ever before. Leopard 2 is not much better compared to russian/ukrainian tanks. Both have nearly the same level of protection. In addition german tanks have no reactive armor and no APS. Yes, they try to upgrade but now they are not operational.
The APCs are of course better, the Boxer is a nice APC. The IFV Puma is nearly on the same level like a MBT. But but they lack numbers and APS!
What Russia can learn from the conflict is not protect better the MTBs...they are really well protected. Maybe an addition to APS upwards against Javelin. They should protect APCs and IFVs with active protection systems! With APS the effect of VDV would be more than doubled.

The Boxer is pretty good yes but the Puma is a great idea on paper but it has many issues same with the Brits brand new Ajax. Two very expensive duds like the F-35.

Europe has no long range artillery, no strategic bombers...no bombers at all, no long range AD systems. No tactical missile systems. Most european members lack generally AD systems. They have nothing compared to A-10 or Su-25. They have no military satellite network, nothing like GPS or Glonass for military (only a civilian system). Only with multi role fighter, APCs and a few MBTs it's really hard to win against an adversary like USA, China or Russia.ALAMO wrote:Read what I wrote again.

Yesterday the head of the Nikolayev region was boasting about a successful attack on a Russian VDV position (seems to have been a recon platoon) near Nikolayev that the Ukrainian military garrison in the city subordinated to him had carried out (the Ukrainian 79th assault brigade)
Today a rocket flew into that brigade's base, killed 8 soldiers outright, 8 more are still missing, and 19 are injured
Seems to be a case of 'leave our forces alone and we'll leave you alone'

Everyone saw those images ,the field day ,that azerbaijan had with armenian soldiers hidding in trenches while drones bombed left and right their positions killing hundreds of armenian very quickly per each drone strike. . the ukraine army is only alive ,because Russia military lacks of a strong
drone airforce.. None of those soldiers will be alive if a precision strike drone from a baykatar similar drone on their positions. or a Russian kamikazi drone strike. If as if russian military not interested in killing ukranian soldiers and only want them to surrender and drop weapons.

The rocket hit their barracks. The base seems to be inside the city or right next to it. Yesterday they moved out and destroyed the VDV platoon; some 5-6 vehicles there destroyed, don't know how many soldiers were killed from both sides.
Aside from the positions of the Ukrainian army, the defense of Ukraine is organized into rings, concentrated on major cities. There are Ukrainian regular forces based in many of those cities, that can move out and engage whoever, with recently assembled territorial defense battalions serving as auxiliaries
A week ago the territorial defense battalion of the city of Sumy (quite a long way behind Russian lines by now, but the city itself has not been entered by Russian troops) also tried to ambush some Russian logistics column or shoot at something. They got a few shells back at their encampment as punishment. Since then they've been quiet.
As for the Iskanders and Kalibrs; they've mostly been employed against fuel supply depots, ammo storage, logistics bases, air defense sites, that British naval base, the SBU's propaganda centre, and other military infrastructure. Today the wave of Kalibrs, I'm guessing, hit the territorial defense battalion headquarters and nationalist gathering spots in a number of cities. Russia has a lot of HUMINT on the ground that tell them where which group is gathering.
