There is no comparison possible. Mariupol was surrounded and they had troops move in from both sides, Crimea and Donbass. How are you going to put troops into Odessa? Highly dangerous amphibious landing?Backman wrote:Is there any question at all that Odessa has to be taken ? How could there be ? You take Odessa from the North, just like in WW2/GPW.lancelot wrote:There is no comparison possible. Mariupol was surrounded and they had troops move in from both sides, Crimea and Donbass. Not sure if you have noticed that, but there is no night without strikes. They are getting 2-3 dozen of missiles every single night, across the country.
A number of registered FPV attacks doubled the August number in last week's report...
Edit : there is one thing that boggles me
This Odessa hotel is a huge, multi story building.
From what we see, it either got ONE missile, or the hits were accurate enough to hit the same spot in the frontal facade of the building.
There is a huge hole there, with visible constructional damages inside like broken pillars, fallen ceilings etc.
And no other breaches in the facade or roof.
Some reports suggests it was strikes by Geranium/s, but the damage is way too devastating for a type. A whole building is ripped out.
There had to be something really, really important there.
As some reports suggest, the building was included in the grain deal as "operating office" for it.
Some hints that under that coverage, the whole building was used as a navy HQ and hotel for advisors and other mercs.

The hotel/HQ in Odessa isn't an adequate response. Kiev should be shaken with high profile attacks. Everyone that matters is sheltered from the war. Why would anyone that matters want to end this war when it gives them such a sense of pride and purpose with these attacks ?
All this commander has to do is appear in some hospital chatting with wounded or sending condolences to the dead cleaners etc. The story will be put to bed and uki pigs will look like idiots.
EDIT: Or just turn up to a military command meeting like he just did….
Something I have notice these past few months in western media, there now appears to be disclaimers when quoting Ukrainian claims. Previously they only added those to Russian statements etc.
Think the tide is well and truly turning and though there’s an awful long way to go to even remotely appear as neutral reporting, the mood has noticeably changed.
Also we simply don’t know how successful the hotel attack was. It might well have killed scores and shredded scores more with glass. Who they are and of what significance, we simply cannot say. But it’s safe to say that it wasn’t targeted just for the craic of it. If the past few months is anything to go by, it was very much a targeted strike.

They will parade them here and there, assisting like a fukin' strategic missiles. The same way they are playing Goofy with HIMARS.

In related news: Stalin died!!!It's true, he passed away of natural reasons in 2006.
I thought there is already a connection. There were plans to connect the southern and northern part of the Korean railway so that SK can move goodsincluding a Transsiberian connection to NK.
to Europe via Russia.
All the "successful" Ukro attack in the last 6 months combined are the roughly equivalent of what Russia is doing in 2 or 3 days/nights. With much more success.They are getting 2-3 dozen of missiles every single night, across the country.
Propably one or two Onyx missiles.There is a huge hole there, with visible constructional damages inside like broken pillars, fallen ceilings etc.
A ship would look even worse.
Re: fuel. In the last video from Mercouris he mentioned someone telling him that Russia cancelled the export of Diesel to build up reserves for theUkro logistics won't be able to fuel them.

MOSCOW, September 26 – RIA Novosti. The armed forces destroyed more than 17 thousand Ukrainian military personnel in September, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a board of the defense department.
"
“Over the current month, over 17 thousand people, more than 2,700 pieces of weapons and military equipment have been destroyed,” the head of the Ministry of Defense said.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost in battles in the first month of autumn:
seven American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles;
77 American M777 artillery systems;
51 self-propelled artillery units from Germany , France, Poland and the United States;
two German Leopard tanks and one English Challenger tank.
As Shoigu reported in early September, at that time the Ukrainian army had lost more than 66 thousand people and 7,600 weapons since the start of the counteroffensive.
The Minister of Defense also spoke about the advance of Russian troops in the Kupyansk direction.
"
“Thanks to the professionalism and courage of the personnel of the 25th and 138th motorized rifle brigades in the Kupyansk direction, the control zone near the settlements of Sinkovka and Petropavlovka has been significantly expanded,” Shoigu noted.
The head of the Ministry of Defense added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to suffer serious losses along the entire line of contact, despite the lack of significant results on the battlefield.

is being forced to play the game desired by NATzO/Kiev. It serves no military purpose and creates propaganda opportunities about Russia attacking innocent Kiev people
and infrastructure.
Russia is clearly doing the right thing by not being goaded and managed by NATzO. NATzO is thrashing around looking more like the retarded joke it is day after day.
The top priority in the USA is now to save face. They have already failed, the retards.

also routinely denies that the Kiev regime is using human wave tactics. Kiev has been using them since last year. Send more Ukr meat
than the local concentration of Russian forces and "win". Don't even bother to collect the dead from the battle field. Where does Mercouris
think that current counter-offensive has been going? So Ukria sends tens of thousands of soldiers in desperate attempts to break through to
the Sea of Azov but can't even reach the first Surovkin line and is only losing a few dozen KIA every day? It is losing an average of 700 men
per day, a figure similar to 2022 which accounts for Kiev burning through its third army.

I think a distinction needs to be made between combatants and non-combatants . Those engaged in offensive operations against Russia or Russian speaking populations , the extremists and Nazi supporters , deserve the most severe response . Regular troops in defensive positions , protecting Ukrainian speaking populations deserve a less immediate and less severe response . Troops that surrender , deserve a place of safety . Civilians engaged in supporting the war effort , need sanctions . Civilians that are not engaged in any support for military , should be left alone . Civilians fighting as Partisans against the extremists should be armed and supported .
Was thinking about SEAD of Ukraine . I remember the USA action against Iraq 1991 . It started with SEAD . Tricking the enemy RADAR to turn on . Hitting with HARM . Destroying runways , communications etc . All this was done from long distance , by cruise missiles . Once enemy AD was depleted , then they used cheaper laser guided bombs , and Hellfire missiles . And lastly they could bomb with cheap dumb bombs from F18 , and even B52 carpet bombing !
Russia still is using cruise missiles at long range to hit targets . And these are now mostly non- AD targets . Am I right in thinking that the SEAD phase against Ukraine did not proceed as well as those against Iraq ? And if not , why not ? Why are Russian bombers still using sparse and expensive cruise missiles , at great stand- off ranges ? Instead of carpet bombing the frontlines , with dumb bombs ?
Is it because , despite many AD assets that have been destroyed , that Ukraine imported large number of NATO AD units ? Does anyone have any reliable info on number of imported AD units into Ukraine ? Compared to number destroyed ? How many old Soviet units are left ?
If the reason is vegetation cover of farm buildings hiding equipment . Then at least warn farmers to keep heavy Tractor outside buildings with no cover . Any tracks of heavy equipment outside Barns , should be taken out !

The Commander of the Black Sea Fleet, killed by Ukrainian propaganda a few days ago, casually attended the Defense Ministry meeting today
EDIT
Ukraine Battle Map
@ukraine_map
Update on the reported death of Viktor Solokov, the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet
Yesterday, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces reported him dead as a result of a Storm Shadow missile strike last week that destroyed the Russian Black Sea Fleet Headquarters in Sevastopol
Today, a photo has been published by Russia of Solokov in a video meeting, indicating that he may still be alive
In response, Ukrainian Forces published this message:
Clarification of information regarding the death of the commander of the Russian Federation.
As is known, 34 officers were killed due to a missile attack on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. Available sources claim that among the dead was the commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Many still have not been identified due to the disparity of body fragments.
Since the Russians were urgently forced to publish a response with an apparently alive Sokolov, our units are clarifying the information. This happens within the procedure for collecting data on the results of the operation.
