Short thread 🧵 on the revolutionary warfare of Gaza’s resistance that extends the battlefield deep into the earth, adding a whole third dimension that renders any 2D mapping of it utterly pointless:

Part of the problem with people peddling ‘war maps’ with ‘zones of control’ is they are stuck thinking in two dimensions, while Gaza has a third: depth. No 2D map sufficiently describes the full 3D battlefield, and the resistance’s own control that stretches deep into the earth.

The resistance in Gaza are quite literally redefining our understanding of warfare, and we are required to adjust how we perceive the battlefield in light of this revolution even within the already revolutionary guerilla warfare of our resistance movements.

Hamas has introduced a new hybrid model of subterranean-ground level warfare. Despite apparent ground gains, Israel can't establish control in Gaza, as Hamas lacks conventional formations to repel; its fighters swiftly retreat below ground after engaging Israeli forces.

Israeli journalist, Ron Ben Yishai, acknowledges that this type of warfare is "the first of its kind" and has "made military history". He admits that even if the IDF inflicted heavy casualties on Hamas and captured substantial weaponry, this wouldn't weaken its grip on the Strip

The fable of battlefield ‘control’ I have discussed before (https://x.com/IbnRiad/status/1732068013724086497?s=20) can be better understood when we appreciate that this claimed control is merely a surface-level plane on a shape that extends deep beneath, & as such is deceptively illusory in nature.

In contrast to map-peddlers who fill in bits of a map with MS Paint, close their eyes & pretend all is well, our understanding of the battlefield is actually in line with the reality we witness daily, where the resistance only grows in strength while the IOF continues to retreat.

Of course, most map-peddlers are either Zionists or half-witted fanboys of the US war machine who are still stuck worshipping the supposed supremacy of western armies and aerial bombardment, so they have a lot of catching up to do even before we ask them to add a 3rd dimension.
