There is a non-zero chance that it has a hybrid propulsion of two jet engines and a RAM-jet with a top intake
But for now it seems its size and the resulting thrust requirements could not be meet with just two engines

It is 50 tons and has 3 engines in case someone here tries to call it a 6th g fighter.
If China had a good jet engine like F-135, then 2 engines would be enough, but since they only have crapy ones, so 3 engines.
And to pretend a so call 6th G military aircraft, you must delete vertical tails and put air inlet on the back.
20km+ altitude my ass, low-drag my ass, see how fat it is with your own eyes, see post 470 for size comparison with the J-20 witch is big enough.

3 engine isn't surprising when you see the size of this beast. J-20 is already huge and this at least 1.5 times its size.
I would call it long range bomber instead of 6th gen fighter.
It corresponds very well to chinese doctrine which is a missile carrier that will be used to hunt US ships àd launch missiles at US islands in the Pacific.

Anyway, when you see what taiwan has, Mirage 2000 and f-16 knock-offs, they would be leveled by China in few days. The US have nothing to protect them.

yeap, that is exactly what this is - a modern missile carrier akin to the Tu-22M. Just stealthy. Although, I wouldn't consider stealth to be much necessary, only because the missiles should have enough range outside of what will be able to engage it.
Always good for testing platforms, but practicality of this is...... not there.

We can conclude that this is a Chinese 6th generation fighter NOT a bomber. Why?
The 2 main air intakes are located on the belly of the fuselage.
Bombers can have the intakes on the top, because they won't need to perform high-alpha maneuvers(nose pitching up). If they did the air intakes will be blocked by the fuselage.
This fighter is built for deep penetration missions. The main air intakes appears to be splitter plate, instead of DSI intakes.
China has mastered the lighter and simpler DSI air intakes, the fact that it's using splitter plates, indicates this fighter will fly at a wide range of speeds.
High supersonic penetration and maneuvering at slower speeds.
Can you classify it as a strike-bomber?
In 6th generation fighter design, this distinction is meaningless, it can be a fighter and a strike-bomber.
Due to it being highly stealthy PLUS the fact that they will be protected by wing man drones, these fighters won't be expected to dog fight.
Hence, trading some maneuverability for more stealth, more range and weapons payload is perfectly fine.
So, if you want to call it a "strike-bomber" because of that, then so be it.
The US commander in the Indo-Pacific region will have sleepless nights, fighters like these are designed to take out US ships and to gain air dominance over the vast expanses of the Pacific.

China is notorious like the US to make their systems look like and sound like its the best. Actually, I think they outdo the Americans on this.
They bark so loud about how good and advance their system is. Yet its funny how its never used and they still back off whenever US starts to approach them. Even Russia or Iran doesn't do this.

Three engines would make sense if one engine is a ramjet or scramjet engine where the two turbojets or turbofans get the aircraft airborne and climbing and then the ramjet is started and takes over propulsion at altitude and high flight speeds and the turbojets shut down for long range high speed cruise using ramjet or scramjet power.
Its wing area is rather large for a hypersonic aircraft, but internal fuel and weapons is going to make any new aircraft look large even if it is quite thin.
Note from below the Su-57 looks huge. but side on it is rather flat and wide...
Blame the US about aircraft generations... no one cared about that stuff before America started talking about their new 5th gen fighters....

China doesn't have ALIEN technology. They cannot even find a proper engine.

For anything beyond bomber, it won't be able to turn or turn fast enough. Engine nozzle design doesn't look like 3d tvc.
So as a strike fighter or whatever they say, that ain't it.

Hats off to China but I'd say it's not a 6th generation design. If that is the criteria then the B-2 was the first back in 1989 already! 
If I have to guess this aircraft's true role it would be a long range interceptor to counter the B-21. It's secondary or even primary role would be a missile carrier against US carriers.
